Just a heads up if you have them do any repairs on your vehicle be careful your not paying for something they messed up on the vehicle. I had them repair my car when I got the total it was over 4,000 and they had replaced my back calipers for 1400 nothing was wrong with them when the car was towed to there. Come to find out they towed my Range Rover wrong. It has a safety feature that doesn't allow the car to move if your lifting it witch they did they lifting it.. the car can only be put on a flat bed or the trucks that can move all 4 tires at the same time. They did pay or not change me for one of them because they knew they messed up.. it also took a month.. I sure people have good experiences with them dont doubt it. But in my case it was not good. Eastern Jacks...Keep in mind an 8-day span without a van. I have 5 kids. I dropped off my car a day early. I told them exactly what was wrong (timing belt component) and still wanted to charge me a diagnosis fee. I agreed but wasn't happy. They called me and said they wanted to take the oil pan off to make sure, but if they were wrong, they would pay for it. This wasted two days. It was a timing component as I told them; I used my stethoscope to hear it. They wasted time. Then they told me they ordered the wrong parts and would charge me $200 more because the part kit was more expensive. Then this last week, I lost two days because their employees called off. So I had to wait even longer. They also charged me for a serpentine belt, which I replaced a year or two ago and should have been fine. I did not consent to this. I told them it was recently replaced and had a warranty. My original price was under $1,500. Now they're charging me $1,900. They gave me a miniscule discount, but it should have been the original price, not the discounted price they tried to give me at $1,800. They were nice in person, but they lack customer service skills. Instead of excuses, how about more customer service if you want any customers at all? Brought my hand-me-down 2001 Ford Taurus for brake work had ben parked for two months during the winter and wouldn't start after they put supposedly new battery in it still won't start, tried to convince me that the gas was bad and needed a new fuel pump and gas tank had to drop to do so. Had family member who worked on HD commercial vehicles look at it and in 20 minutes or so found the problem, fouled spark plugs from being repeatedly flooded. He cleaned them a little and the old girl fired right up, 800.00 for the brake job and wanted nearly 800.00 more for fouled spark plugs. Avoid them at all costs they pad the bill! read more

Well, last year I had great experience on our annual trip to Iowa from California. Discount Tire in Grand Junction couldn't have been better to us when we had a tire problem while enroute. This time, we experienced the opposite of "Iowa Nice" when we did business with Jack"s Brake and Alignment on River Drive in Davenport Iowa. While on the way here, we had a front end alignment problem with our 2016 Mercedes Sprinter RV. As a result, we ended up with two badly worn tires on the front and needed to get the front end aligned before heading home to California. We found Jack's online and read the reviews but thought we'd give them a try even though there were some negative and one star comments. What a mistake. You can tell a lot about a business by the way they charge for their services. To start with, they gave me a quote of $406.00 for the alignment. I asked how long they took to do one and the answer was "5 minutes to two hours depending". Fair enough; they quote high "just in case" so I went with it. I expected to be "up sold" and I expected to probably buy tires from them. Sure enough, they recommended tire replacement because "the belts are coming apart inside". I'm not the average customer who knows nothing about these issues and I knew that was BS, but I thought I'd maybe replace the tires anyway. They quoted me a low number of $149.00 for the least expensive tire but when I asked about mounting and balance I was quoted $86.00! What?! OK; I told them that's OK, just rotate the two front wheels to the outer rear. These rims are interchangeable and you literally just remove one wheel and bolt it to the other dually. To his credit, before they started the work, the service writer told me it would be $175.00 to rotate the two front wheels to the rear. What?! OK; Nevermind; I'll take the RV with the tires "as is". He told me that their shop rate was $175.00/hr and they would have to charge me one hour for the wheel rotation. ONE HOUR. For a vehicle already on their rack. So for a 45 minute (or less) front end alignment, on an EASY Sprinter chassis vehicle, I was presented with a "maxed out" bill of $418.00. When I left Jack's I went to Farm and Fleet for tires. Looking at the tires, Farm and Fleet said I needed and alignment and they quoted me $99.99 for that. But I told them it was just aligned and unfortunately, they had no tires in stock for me so they sent me across the street to Eastern Iowa Tire. Eastern told me I needed an alignment and I told them I had Jack's do it already. I asked what they charged to do the front end alignment on a Sprinter RV like mine. The answer was $65.00 to $85.00! I told them about Jack's and the guy said "we do full alignments on semi's for a little over $200.00! How do people get away with stuff like that?" Well; They WON'T if people read my review and BELIEVE ME. But if you don't believe me, just ask the people at Jack's DETAILED questions BEFORE you "trust them" with a signature to do the work. I wish I had read the reviews before I took my truck to Jack's Eastern location. I only went there because I could get financing for the work that needed to be done. Although the service people were really nice the work I was quoted ended up being only about half of what needed to be done. I was led to believe they were repairing everything necessary only to find out later this was not true. If I had known the whole story I would have junked the truck and never gotten involved with Jack's. Now I need additional work I can't afford but have so much money tied up in repairs I can't afford to junk the truck and find something new. Buyer beware. read more

let me tell you Our story....We bought an elderly Mountain Aire Motor home, in beautiful shape , low miles. it did have a manifold leak that we needed fixed so we could go on our maiden voyage. started to look for a repair shop. after calling the fourth place, Jacks Brake and Alignment, they said yeah bring it up. we took it up and told them we would need it by the 25th of January because we were taking it to Florida. No problem it was only the last of November. that was seven weeks away. we did ask them to check the wires going to the auto tow to make sure they were in good shape. and they called and told us our starter would have to be replaced. hmmm. okay. just so it's ready. started getting anxious as the end of December rolled around and didn't hear anything about our RV. started calling them weekly. oh yeah we're working on it. finally half way thru January we just went and surprised them with a visit. it was there tore apart. with the excuse they had to weld a hole in a pipe shut cause they couldn't find the parts. we left again with a promise oh yeah it'll be done in plenty of time. the week before we were to leave we called and said they had til the following Monday and we were coming for it. We went and sat there for an hour and a half and then it was done.....4400.00 later. what can we do. reservations had been made and we were going. took off ran good home took off on our trip. day one okay, day two. manifold blew again. we limped it the rest of the way to our destination. called Jacks and they said get it fixed and send the bill .Found a repair guy who fixed it in less than 8 hours to the tune of 740.00. when we left Jacks they said they warranty their work 24 months. 24000 miles. so we thought well at least we will get this money back. we called them and told them how we got it fixed and they said send us the bill. My husband said I'll just be up with it when we get home. Got home with no problems and he took the manifold and gasket up to them with the bill. the manager agreed that the manifold in that shape never should of been put back on the RV. he would try to get our money back. They just called and said because it wasn't their parts they wouldn't cover any of it and because it had to be done in a HURRY....never heard of seven weeks being a hurry. I was graced with Jacks towing services. If people think having a broken down car is stressful I would politely challenge them to 5 in one month lol. However, I will say that despite the anger and frustration I experienced with my vehicles inadequacies I was never let down by Jacks. In fact by the 2nd 3rd tow within that short amount of time I was actually looking forward to getting my car towed lol. Hell we were family at that point. I have a 2016 Kia with 320k and a 01 Corolla with 171k and they've both been towed lol. Kia Soul 2016, June 10th 2023 June 27th 2023 June 28th 2023 Toyota Corolla 2001, July 3rd 2023 July 6th 2023.... and to be fair I only have one tow left on my insurance police before I have to pay out of pocket. Thank god they only charge $4 per extra mile, because there's been times that I've gone over my allotted 20 miles, and thats extremely reasonable considering a gallon of gas is almost that and you're not even towing anything I can't remember the positive to negative review ratio is, but I will say this... I've used Jacks 5 times in less than a month, and I felt like I made a family. A family I want to serve and help serve the community. Now I won't sit here and be dismissive of any previous reviews or services that they felt they didn't get the level of service they expect. Well... Jack's is so amazing that I'm actually applying today. To help serve people in need, like I had been this past month, and if I'm lucky I can tell my current employer that I wont be accepting their minimal wage and attitude. Because I'll be at Jack's helping people in need, with kindness compassion integrity and enthusiasm. I should of read the reviews first! Scheduled an appointment for alignment. Was told 2 tires had broken bands. I had asked if they could look at replacing muffler because I had looked and the resonator wad rusted through. 3 1/2 hours later I had 2 new tires (never offered a choice of tire either) and didn't even get the alignment. They charged $60 to mount and balance the new pair. Same price as well for balancing the old pair. WTF? They told me the muffler would cost $280. Ok, but the bill listed an addl $65 diagnostic. To see the rust? $35 shop materials. No explanation. Lead wheel weights? Anyway, 2 tires (for $245) ended up being $450 and 3 1/2 hours for an alignment appt that I never even got an alignment done. I went to get an alignment done and wanted to support something more local inside of a corporate place. The first alignment that was done took 45 minutes I picked it up and left and something didn't seem right. I went back in told them and they proceeded to tell me I need new tires. (Which I did but that should affect you not doing your job) there printer for the alignment machine was broken but they told me everything was in the green. I went to firestone to just get a print out of what my alignment was at. 3 red areas... so I had to go back to jacks make another appointment with them to get it fixed which took 4 hours and there printer still was not working. It does feel better when I drove it this last time but I shouldn't have had to spend a week trying to get my alignment done correctly... read more

They were very pleasant and very slow. After a month they finally figured out the engine was a 350 and Nora 454, but only because I told .them. Another month and it was done or so they said. It wouldn't start. When it started it sounded worse them when I took it in Took it to a R. V center to have roof repaired and they said it was totaled. It was a like been Coachman motor home. So my insurance paid off and I let it go By the way their bill for working on the engine that then wouldn't start and was squaking like a duck in heat was $2,500.00 Do not take your motorhomes there. As far as work goes, they do a decent job. But they charge for everything. And overcharge they do. Had wheel hub bearings replaced. Their cheapest is the Duralast with a one year warranty at $199 and that does not include labor. I can get the same at Autozone for $96. I can go to Advance Auto and get Moog for a cheaper price with a three year warranty. They charged $60 just to look at the suspension. Will I ever go back? Only if I am desperate like I was in this case and even then I will do everything possible to go somewhere else. I now know why they are not busy. Other shops that don't overcharge and don't charge just to look at the vehicle are the ones that have the customers. read more

From out of state traveling home and blew out third and forth gear in my transmission. Had a wonderful experience with their towing and roadside assistance program. Tow truck driver was timely, courteous and professional! Unfortunately their service department/shop was not the same. I felt like I was being taken advantage of, being from out of town and not having many options. I was given an estimate for $3800 dollars for the complete job. However after calling 3 local, reputable service shops in my home town.... I was given quotes of $2100, $2400 and $2600. For identical service, with the same warranty and parts.... No mind you this is the first conversation I had with this company after dropping my vehicle off when they were closed. After denying and refusing service. I made arrangements to go down (4 hour drive) and pick up my vehicle. I had no problem paying for my towing bill, which was covered by my insurance. However, I was charged a $250 dollar diagnostic fee to be told I needed a new transmission. I received no bill, no diagnostic data just a $250 fee. I told the guy I knew my transmission needed to be replaced, that's why it was towed to your shop. I would have had no problems having them do the work....until I was quoted almost double for the identical job.. Which again is fine, they can charge whatever they want, no sweat off my back. But when they hold my vehicle hostage and extort $250 from an Iraq war veteran. That is where I have a problem.. As far as I am concerned avoid this place at all cost! read more
