The group of coaches are well stabled and proficient in the art of boxing. This gym will "Teach" you boxing with proper techniques that are drilled combined with a workout. No other gym has a systematic way of teaching boxing other than Wolfpack. Most gyms and boxing trainers have you do a workout and hit pads or the bag and don't teach you the fundamentals of boxing such as high guard, slipping, parrying, catching and the like. This place you actually learn the science. Not to mention, you will get in shape because it's a tremendous workout. Cheers, Mo.

Western PA Boxing Commission has banned this gym from hosting Golden Gloves as Jeff Mucci (the…read moreowner) has burned bridges all over the city with his childish and egotistical behavior. Related to my specific circumstances, I enrolled my son in his Pee-wee boxing program at the age of six years old. He regularly attended this program and very much enjoyed the coaching staff. My son requires physical therapy for a motor skill delay condition and rather than sending him to occupational therapy, his pediatrician agreed that boxing would help him improve his motor skills and coordination. Thankfully, during the 3 years we attended (and never missed a payment spending $900 a year) we had very little interaction with the owner until recently. This past Sunday, apparently my card for my membership needed to be updated, but rather than notifying me in a professional manner, he texted me that he had canceled my son's membership at 6 PM on a Sunday evening because the card had declined. I did not respond. A few days later, he then texted me asking for updated payment information and referencing a past due balance. After attempting to understand the confusion in his communication, especially after he had already communicated the cancellation of the membership, which he charges prior to the start of the month, I could not understand why he was asking for a payment that I clearly did not owe. He went on a 5 paragraph rant about his membership program & ended it by making mention of another member who recently left the gym by stating "tell Rick I said hi!" He was specifically referencing my son's uncle, which made me realize this was the reason for his retaliation. After making him aware that I would be sharing my experience with everyone I come in contact with he then threatened me by telling me his "wife is an attorney and he will not tolerate any statements that would be damaging to his brand". He also let me know that he would pursue legal action "to the fullest extent of the law." We are clearly taking our business elsewhere, but I asked him to remove my son's images from his social media after all of this retaliation against a nine year-old boy due to his conflict with another adult, which once again, is completely unrelated to my son's membership. He has still not removed the 3 photos of my nine-year-old minor child on his publicly accessible, social media platforms which I clearly requested using the same cell phone # he was using to send his strange paragraphs from. My messages and requests have been ignored. I also commented directly on each photo stating clearly that he "does not have my permission to use my minor child's photos for any of his advertising purposes." Instead of removing the posts, he responded by blocking my accounts, removing my comments, and continues to use the photos my son is featured in for advertising purposes. He clearly has not brushed up on the laws protecting the privacy of minor children, but he will soon find out via legal consequences for this behavior.

I wanted to try n shed some of this baby weight & I wanted try sumthing new. Boy did a make a mistake! The bald headed instructor was a complete jerk to me. Who wants to get yelled at by people who think they are better than you because they are fit? Who wants to feel ashamed about their bodies by instructors who are supposed to be there to help and motivate? Won't be me. Never again. Bye Felicia

They make every new member feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. They have a great focus on technique - they are constantly making sure that everyone is doing the moves correctly and will help you adjust if you're not. They're also extremely vocal with encouragement and just letting you know when you're killing it. Besides all of that, any class you take here will be a great workout and have you leave feeling incredible and energized. For anyone on the edge of trying a class here - take the chance and find your new favorite workout!

5 stars honestly isn't enough for how much this gym has changed my life I wish I could give it 10+…read more After multiple failed attempts in the past, I started the weight loss program almost a year ago, and since then I've lost over 40 pounds while also building a tremendous amount of muscle. I still remember using 15-pound dumbbells during my very first class session, and now I regularly lift around 50 pounds, with 75 pounds on max-out days. My single-arm rows have improved from around 30 pounds to hitting 100 pounds during fitness testing week. My endurance has improved just as much. When I first started, I could barely complete 2 rounds in class, and now I average about 4 rounds consistently. Beyond the physical transformation, this gym has created such a healthy and motivating environment. The coaches genuinely care about keeping you accountable and helping you reach your goals, and the classes are both challenging and fun, you can truly see your progress over time. I also remember telling the coaches that one of my long-term goals was to run a marathon. In less than a year, I was able to complete my first half marathon, something I never thought possible before joining. If you're serious about changing your life and achieving your fitness goals, this is absolutely the place to be!

I moved to Pittsburgh a few months ago and wanted to find a local gym. I've lived in MANY cities…read moreand been a member at MANY gyms, so I know what I want and need. As I researched nearby gyms prior to my move, Altus stood out - they had great reviews online and their philosophy/program offering seemed to align with what I was seeking. John was very responsive to my initial inquiry and after I got settled, I went to meet him for an initial consult. Our conversation gave me full confidence this was the place for me. I love strength training, so I wanted to work with a trainer to get me back into the routine of lifting weights, but I need flexibility - I travel frequently for work and often have to book trips last minute. During our conversation, we talked through everything - my history with strength training, my work and travel schedule, nutrition, injuries, goals, expectations, budget --- it was the most thorough consult I've had with any gym. I also had a preliminary session to determine my baseline (strength, range of motion, etc.) and get all the data measurements, which we use and remeasure to track my progress over time. Now that I've been going to Altus for a few months, I can genuinely say the entire experience - and Altus team - have been amazing. I immediately felt welcome and I appreciate the trainers so much. I've been working with Aaron for my individual sessions and squad sessions and it's been great. He's truly a 'coach' in that we're always talking through each set (about my form, the muscle groups we're focused on, how I'm feeling after each set, why we're doing certain things, etc.) -- it's educational, engaging, and fun. And he's always flexible with my crazy work schedule - accommodating changes when I have to go out of town, providing workouts through the mobile app that I can do virtually when I'm gone, squeezing in sessions when nothing about my availability is 'normal', and checking in regularly between sessions to see how I'm doing. I've also joined several classes and they're always fun - Heather, Cheri, Brandi --they'll kick your butt, but you'll love every minute of it. :) the Versa climber was a new piece of equipment for me --- it's killer but awesome! If you're looking for a gym that will focus on what you need and trainers who will champion you every step of the way to reaching your goals --- head over to Altus. They're the best!
