If you don't want to read this whole TL;DR story the point is that Shay and Karen are exceptional…read moreprofessionals that hotel Eastport management was very smart to hire, and they both really saved my day and my sanity in a situation where I thought my car had been stolen from the property. If I had anything to do with it, they would be given raises and promotions immediately. Below is the long version. I had the pleasure of running into a couple of awesome professionals here last week, Shay and Karen. I parked my car in the lot and went into the Hotel because I had heard the bar area was cool. It was not open yet so they directed me to Yamas, which is a restaurant attached to the hotel where you have to walk outside the back of the hotel to get to it. When I came back and my car was... gone. At first I thought they must have towed it, but was quickly assured by the front desk that they had not. At that point, I was not in a state of panic, but now I have the specifics of my insurance coverage bouncing around in my head and the value of not only the car itself, but the stuff in it. I had had some drinks at Yamas during lunch but I was far from in the bag. I had a clear picture in my head of where I had parked. I have parked in the byzantine streets of big cities plenty of times and have always been able to find my car, and this was just a hotel parking lot. I was ready to call the coppers when Shay and Karen were sent over to deal with the situation. They were kind and sagacious enough to suggest that they go out and walk the lot just to make sure before kicking it to the next level. I was skeptical as I was so sure I knew exactly where I had parked it. 5 minutes later they came back and announced that they had found it... On the other side of the parking lot. At that point I thought I had been pranked by the person who has the spare key, but they swore they had nothing to do with it. And how could they have even known I was there anyway? It is still a mystery as to how it got from where I am sure I had parked it to where they found it. I was hardly wasted, and have never suffered from bouts of acute amnesia, but somehow I must have moved it and forgotten about it. In any case, to conclude this long story, I have no other experience with this hotel yet, but if this is the level of service at the front line staff level, I would highly recommend paying them a visit. This kind of professionalism that is not common at all anymore. Thanks again ladies!

My review is really just on the vibe and the bar. I have not had the opportunity to stay at the…read morehotel yet. I was walking around Eastport on a Saturday, early evening, and decided to check out the hotel. It's right on the lake and has beautiful views. They have an inside/outside bar, facing the water and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a drink, the music and the lovely scenery of the lake and wildlife. Our bartender was friendly and fast. We decided to sit on a bench watching the sun go down. We also took time to walk around the lobby. It's not big, but it is new and follows the Eastport theming well - it feels kinda retro and modernish at the same time. The hotel also has a restaurant attached to it, Yamas, which is an upscale Mediterranean dining spot. I haven't eaten there yet, but I've heard good things so far. If you stay at the hotel, the room rates are reasonable for the area (compared to the hotels at Brownwood or Lake Sumter) and they have many rooms that face the lake. They also had corn hole and a mini-putting green outside for added enjoyment. Will definitely come back again to check out more that the spot has to offer.

We had mini pimento Mac and cheese fritters(this was a hit), cheese burger sliders(none were leftover!), cheddar potato skin bites(again...they were all gone!), mini chicken empanadas(my favorite), vegetable springs rolls(the dipping sauce was to die for), cannolis, mini cheesecake bites, and chocolate chip cookies(need I say more?). I Hulu recommend them to anyone in the central Florida area!

This truck came to our work place today and raved about their awards…read more I bought the brisket sliders and was totally disappointed. The meat was dry and tough, the two things brisket should never be. They smothered the sliders with their sauce which overpowered all but the burnt flavor of the edges of the meat. Wasted money, hoping it doesn't disagree with my stomach as much as it did my pallet. I also bought their mac and cheese with bacon. The macaroni is small, like you see in kraft boxed mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was dry and almost flavorless. The bacon on top is more like jerky than bacon. If there is a highlight it's that they're not getting much busier and most likely won't be back. In response to their reply: When I stepped up to your truck you were quick to tell me how great your food is and how you bested others in recent contests; this is called "setting a high expectation". I have been eating brisket for more than 25 years and know what good brisket tastes like. I am also aware of what good mac n cheese tastes like. I am more than willing to admit my tastes may differ from others, but when a person brags they need to produce.
