I have always had great experiences with this shop. Inspections go without a hassle. They have replaced a bulb for me once at no charge to help me out. I even had an issue with a trailer and they figured it out with a smile. I have been a customer here for seven years. National office will make the schedule and that has caused inspection issues but they always figure a spot for me. read more

Ever have a bad day turn around because of a screw? That's what happened to me today. What seemed like an impossible feat to me became possible thanks to the folks over at Jack Williams in Palmyra, PA! I went here a few months ago for an oil change, and service was an absolute breeze! So while I was driving home from work this afternoon, my tire sensor light came on, and I was down almost ten pounds of air pressure. Panic ensues in my brain, as it's happening on the eve of Labor Day weekend. There's no way I can find a place that can fix this tire pressure issue of mine before the end of the work day, right? Wrong. I drove over to Jack Williams after my long commute from Lancaster city, and a nice guy named Rex was able to help me out toot sweet! He had me in and out of there in less than 15 minutes flat with my tire repair in no time to spare. As I type this review, it is 6:00 p.m. on Friday evening and I am road ready again thanks to Rex! You the man! read more

I had called for an appointment to have my car inspected. Two days prior to my appointment, I received a message that they would have to cancel my appointment. I reached out to the team via phone as requested. I was told they made an error in scheduling and they would need to reschedule my appointment. I was told they cannot do more than 10 inspections in one day and since I was the last person added to their appointments for that particular day, they could not help me. read more

It was a Sunday morning. Car was loaded to capacity, just a few hours into a 10 hour drive to drop off for freshman year of college. So- very stressful when the alert signal came on - tire pressure warning. Watched in horror as the PSI steadily declined in the right rear tire. Quickly mapped to nearest tire shop open Sunday morning. Directed to Mavis. Arrived to be greeted by several surly mechanics desperately in need of Customer Service Training. Even though just one car on a lift and 7 open bays, was told it would be about a 60 to 90 minute wait. " But it's only a nail, in the tire, it just needs a plug". Didn't matter. Frustrated , I checked Google, nearest Tire and Auto Repair was Jack Williams - and it was just across the street. Called the Number and was connected immediately to Bryce. Told him the sad story and he said bring it right over. We have a few people ahead of you, but if it's only the tire we can have a look right away. Tire pressure going down more quickly now, we drive across the street. Bryce took the keys, handed them to Dillon- who put the car on the lift right away. Twenty Minutes Later we were back on the road. Nothing but a Great Experience. Friendly Service, Professional Attention and just can't say enough about the guys who work at Jack Williams Tire and Auto. Thank You!! And if you are ever in need of Tire and Auto Service, and you are in North Duke Street in Palmyra - Just Call 717-833-4260 and ask for Bryce. You will be very well taken care of. read more

I went to jack williams for one flat tire. After refilling and replacing the valve for that tire they come into the waiting area and tell me i need to replace the brakes and calibers which were changed not that long ago. I now don't trust taking my car there believing i will be scammed. read more

I was in and out in about 1 hour. Oil change, and all 4 tires rotated and balanced. Front receptionist guy was super nice and techs were competent and knowledgeable. And price was fair too. Good value. Definitely will go here again! read more

I have been going to JWT for a long time (Mavis Tires). Are the perfect? No. But they fixed their mistakes. They have been affordable and worked with me. The management is nice. They do the services that I request and don't treat me like an idiot. No hard sell. read more

This was my first time at this location. I called my Lancaster location first and Chris said that Rick can handle my personality. So I went. There was no BS. They checked my breaks and let me know that they were good to go! This is my new location and I am confident that they will treat me as well as Chris in Lancaster has for years! read more

Arrived before my appointment time. Walked around doing a few errands and eating lunch. Came back. An hour and a half past my appointment time, my car hadn't moved. I was not impressed at all. Giving me a discount for being late gave them an extra star read more

Oil change was perfect! Did an amazing job, friendly, and efficient. Will return for additional services!

Just called to about bringing my car in for inspection. Guy told me they are scheduled through for whole week. I called a week ago asking for an appointment for this week and was told they don't do appointments and to call in morning and to let them know and then drop car off and leave it for the day. So they can't keep their lies straight and I'm screwed getting inspection. Lazy people running bad business. Avoid them and let them suffer because of their lazy lying attitude. read more

Absolutely rock solid service! I went in without an appointment needing to get my battery/alternator checked. The Assistant Manager Michael Gomez said they were swamped (and they were) but would have a technician go out to the parking lot and run a quick check. Battery was bad. They were out of stock. Then they retrieved one from down the street and had it installed all in 20 minutes! Even cleaned the air filter. But it gets better. During my quick wait, I couldn't help but but notice that the assistant manager knew every other customer by name as soon as they walked through the door. If that's not committed customer service, then I don't know what is. That fact alone will keep this crew servicing my vehicles in the future. Thanks Mike and Crew! read more

This is concerning the Palmyra Pa. store... I've had work done there many times before with good results. I made an appointment last week for state inspection and a few other things and dropped it there last evening. Not hearing anything by 3:30 I called and was informed it wasn't completed because they couldn't read the note I had left... and that they left me a voicemail early today. 1st of all, the note was just a listing of the information I had given when I made the appt. and 2nd I never received the call. The guy blamed me because the contact information was smeared but truth be told this was all on them. No apology and incredibly rude. He could've easily pulled my contact info from their database for the car and called me. These guys are stooges and wasted my time. I won't be going back and I suggest you don't either. read more

I walked in and asked for a price for all season tires for my car. Chris assisted me and gave me a quote. I went to 2 other stores and got quotes there too. One was more and one comparable to Jack Williams tires. I decided on Jack Williams tires because Chris was honest and friendly. He answered all my many questions and he told me he would beat or at least meet a competitor's price. I had the 4 tires installed and balanced today in under 35 minutes! I was provided with a quote for an alignment too (I could not do it today) and a firm price for the alignment if done within 30 days. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and they have earned a new customer! read more

I had a puncture in a tire and was told due to rim damage of the tire that I needed a new one and that I should get two for proper wear. So fine, ordered two but had reservations. Asked a neighbor who worked in service a lot of years and he said no, not necessary. So I called them back and I got another song and dance and if it was my car he says, I would put the two on. So OK I said still with reservations. Then I called the dealer and they checked with service and said no, only replace the one. So ended that and saved me $250. Then I get the car back and the tire pressures are crazy. They had one tire to replace and they Messed with all the tire air pressures. I called and asked why and got another song and dance which was just stupid. I again called the dealer and he said that explanation they gave me was nonsense. They had the front right at 48, front left at 44.5, the rear right at 34.5 and the rear left at 48. They should all be at, get this.....32. Jack Williams has lost all credibility in my book. Would never recommend. Thankfully a new guy is coming to town. read more

For almost a decade my wife and I were using them for oil changes and inspections but unfortunately we will no longer be able to trust them. There were three strikes but it should have only been two. 1. I took my car to get an oil change a couple months into the pandemic and did an online order for the lower priced oil blend. After leaving and getting home, I was filing away the papers and noticed the price for the higher blend. I double checked my email and it was indeed the lower blend. I called and asked why it was changed. At first it was a "you chose the higher blend" and then I pointed to my online order and then it became "we wanted to ensure better functioning of your vehicle" or some crap like that. I was getting frustrated and demanded the proper price. They refunded my card for the overcharge and life went on. 2. My wife took her car in for an oil change and tire rotation circa March 2021. About a week after we noticed that one of the tires was really bumpy and thought anything from it going flat to being old needing replaced. Turns out the mechanic didn't tighten the bolts enough so it wasn't properly aligned. My wife had to use the car jack and fix it herself. While the tire wasn't going to fall off, that was still a serious safety hazard and we should've stopped going to them then but thought it was just random carelessness. 3. I took my car in a month or so ago for oil and an inspection and with it being older (100,000+ miles) they took a long look at it came back with a list of of wear and tear things that may need to be done...$2000 worth. My car isn't perfect but considering it has had minor attention needed outside of tires, windshield wipers, battery change, and oil changes I was baffled by the high price all at once. I told them to cut back on stuff that I deemed unimportant and paid about a quarter of that with taxes for the stuff I deemed important. Being June and running up on the next oil change, I took it to a nearby Firestone for a second opinion. They found nothing wrong to the extent of what was mentioned on my car at Jack Williams, well except that my tires were 10 psi above the recommended amount on each tire! I've been to shops that top of your fluids and fill up your tire pressure so this has my wife and I wondering if there is intentional lying or even sabotage just to get us back and pay more. I can forgive it as accidental carelessness if it only happened once or after a series of positive experiences there was a slip up every now and then. But with there being some sort of issue each time for two separate vehicles, we will not be going back to the Palmyra, PA shop ever again. I don't trust people who seem to only care about money and not ours and other people's safety on the road. GOOD RIDDANCE! read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was here from out of town and I had to be towed because I sliced my tire. I had a spare but the tow truck driver couldn't budge my lug nuts and I needed an impacter. It was a simple switch out to a spare I already had. When we got there the service manager basically turned me away. Telling me he had 7 cars ahead of us and only 3 mechanics. He also made it a point to gesture to the waiting area at the customers, informing me that they had been there for five hours. Who tells customers that??? What kind of manager tell customers about his low and inefficient staff?? I wish I would have asked his name and reported him to corporate. For better service, go to Brandon's tire about a mile or so down the road. read more

Stopped in for an oil change, left with an unnoticed SEVERE radiator leak, overheated twenty minutes after leaving. Called service and they mentioned "they don't check radiator fluid", but would be willing to fill it tomorrow. Coincidence? Unfortunate? Will see type off damage and cause in the AM! Funny, when I was paying for my oil change the lady in front of me was paying for a radiator??? Coincidence? Unusual!? Buyer beware..... read more

Have brought my vehicle and suggested family members to bring their vehicles to this location because of it's convenient location and good reviews. Have never walked away feeling as though I was treated fairly. I have always overpaid for work that could have been done for a better price or even when having the work done to pass inspection by a third party "miraculously" the vehicle needs additional repairs after bringing it back less than 2 weeks later. Every vehicle we have brought to them has needed immediate maintenance after and always related to the work they performed. If you want some tires, buy them and have your own people put them on. Don't trust these people. read more

Had an appointment to get my power steering pump replaced. Dropped my truck off when the opened and the part so I could get it back early. Eight hours later they never even started the truck yet. Plenty of places to go and I will not come back to your place again. read more

I am absolutely livid that I tried to repair it myself by plugging it. I could not get it so I took it into this location since it is right beside Sheets. within 10 minutes I received a phone call telling me they couldn't repaired found 2 more holes. Being that I tried to plug this tire myself I looked it over and inspected it thoroughly. When I went to pick her up it was sitting outside and had two gashes in it near the other spots. I actually know for a fact I would have seen them as big as they were. Absolute Com artists at best. I would never buy a car from Jack Williams ever if you do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I'm only giving two stars since before my LAST experience there, they had checked my tires a few times with no charge. I had taken my Subaru here a few months ago to have hoses replaced. They called me and said I needed a valve gasket job immediately - cost $700. I called my usual mechanic who said let ME look at it; subsequently, my guy said does it leak, does it use oil because it looks fine. Thank goodness I didn't allow JW to do the work. Sure, they can be friendly, but to attempt to perform expensive unnecessary work for an older woman is beyond unacceptable. read more

This establishment has once again failed to meet my needs. I drive an AWD vehicle and needed to replace two tires, when asking to purchase two tires over the phone I was invited in and they'd take care of it. Upon arrival I walked in and told the person at the desk that I had called in earlier. After this they told me I need to replace all 4 tires, because it's a liability. After calling 3 other shops each one offered that I could get two tires no problem. This place is truly awful with customer service I would highly recommend you stay away or try pep boys. Pep boys gave me way better service with a cheaper total. read more

I pulled a drywall screw out of my tire and was going to plug it myself but could not get the plug forced into tire even after reaming out the hole with a 1/4" drill bit. Hole was in center of tread pattern. Took tire to Palmyra location to have them repair it. when I went to pick it up they said the repair was to close to sidewall??? and they couldn't repair it but could order me another tire for $270.45. So when I went outside to get the tire they had placed a small metal shard in a spot near the sidewall location and said that was where it was leaking. There was no way anyone could tell it was leaking there until you fix the gapping 1/4" hole i drilled in it to plug it. So being a car guy I knew I was a victim of fraud, I took tire to another family owned tire shop and repaired my 1/4" hole for $26.45 it was not leaking where they showed me. Next time I need to spend $1,000.00 to tire up a vehicle it wont be this place. Good luck staying in business in a small town word travels fast. read more

I would give zero stars to Jack Williams if I could. I have had problems in the past with them. And this one is the last straw. Took my car in cause I was having problems starting my car they said I needed a new starter and spark plugs and to get a fluid clean out. They were gonna charge me over $700 for all that. I took my car to another shop and it just proves Jack Williams doesn't know what they are talking about. This shop told me that Jack Williams got it all wrong and that it shouldn't cost anywhere near $700 to get all that done to my car. No one go to Jack Williams there are other good car shops that don't charge near as much as Jack Williams and does better work and has better customer service. read more

I had 4 tires replaced and it took over 2 hours. Why make an appointment? While sitting in the waiting area 3 techs and the manager were at the counter bullshiting and on their cell phones. The junior staff are fine but the manager is a rude and arrogant person who does not value or respect his customers. After five years of giving them my business, this manager was rude and arrogant and refused to fit custom size tires provided by me. They fit my vehicle as proved by various internet blogs and he refused to even try one tire to see if it fit. Told me to go and get it mounted by some another dealer which finally I went to and they did it without any hassle and they fit perfectly. Avoid them as the manager at this Jack Williams of Palmyra, PA has become very arrogant as they seem to get more customers. read more

This use to be a great place for service and tires, but something has changed. I went in for a state inspection and was told I needed to pay over $300 for repairs to pass. I told them to just fail it and then was told it passed. I took a tire to them yesterday with a slow leak to be repaired. They told me it needed to be replaced. Took it elsewhere and low and behold, it IS repairable. They are shady. read more

Worst service possible, scam artist, asked if i should write a list of 5 things to be fixed and they said no we got it, ended up only getting 2 fixed, a coolant fuel line and my window and that didnt even work right, After a month of them wrking on the car the first day back the window would roll down by itself. They said they culdnt find an oil leak until i had to physically stick my finger on the parking spot where my car was parked as soon as i brought it back and told them to smell it. Then it was a consistant argument of how they said they needed to fix stuff that never needed fixed without my permission, i got my car checked by 2 other garages to be shure what needed fixed so i wouldnt get scammed, then i ended up having to pay jack tire & auto around $1300 for things i didnt need and a window motor kit and fuel line, so basically $1300 for a motor kit, fuel line and their extra lieing nonsense. Scam. This happend on 01/15/2016 read more

If you like bad service and sitting in a waiting room for 1.5 hours for an oil change, then Jack Williams in Palmyra is the place for you. I scheduled an appointment for 12 p.m. and arrived at the store promptly at noon. My car sat in the parking lot until 12:30 p.m., when it was taken into the service bay, where it sat until 12:45 before the technician finally began working on it. It then took another 45 minutes for him to change the oil. All the manager seemed to be able to say when I said the service was unacceptable was "In a perfect world we could have finished the job in 45 minutes." To top things off (no pun intended!), when I arrived I notified the person at the counter that the low air tire pressure indicator was on and he made a note of it. When I left, the indicator light was still on and I ended up adding air to the tires myself when I got home. Next time it will be Jiffy Lube for me! read more

My stepdaughter purchased 4 new tires from Jack Williams Tire in Palmyra, PA. The new tires were necessary for vehicle inspection according to Jack Williams, so she purchased them for the inspection. After this began a problem to still continues to this day. The tires periodically were leaking air. When my stepdaughter would go in for service (guaranteed by Jack Williams) they would simply put air in the tire and tell her that they did a test drive and all was well. Except the tires still leaked. Especially, one tire in particular. Recently, after several months of this we went together and asked to see how many times the car had been in for this problem. There were no records of the problem or the so-called service on the tires. Now, we are going back once again to plead for an exchange for the tire or wheel if they damaged it when they mounted the tires. This smacks of two things. One, since most of us are not mechanics, they take advantage of uneducated people who trust them to do due diligence for their service warranties . And two, they do not keep any records of service unless they are selling you something. Therefore, they can claim they don't remember anything about your vehicle except when they sold you the tires. Do Not Think That A Cheap Tire Is Worth The Hassle Of Poor Service! read more
