I do not recommend Brandon. When I asked his price, He did not give me a price over the phone. Instead, hearing my player piano play over the phone while we talked, he said, "It sounds like you might need a bigger service - that would be for $385." I didn't agree with that diagnosis but I allowed him to come for that price to get my tuning done .- knowing he was $200 over the average price. The only price he quoted to me was the $385 without mentioning any other service. He came , sat down and did his thing without any commentary about my piano. After two hours he was finished and I I gave him my card for payment. However, he appears to be frustrated that the card did not process quickly and he left with my understanding that a receipt. would come in shortly which didn't happen. When I got my credit card statement, I saw he had charged me $709. without giving me a receipt at the time - saying his phone was too slow at processing it and he left. I protested the charge with Citi but he fought it with a bogus invoice or receipt that had my name at the top that he sent as his document, But... it had never been presented to me. He had never given that information to me. or explained anything about my piano. He just did his thing and took my card for payment but never showed me a balance because he said he couldn't get it finalized. I never got an invoice or receipt. This copy from Citi was the first I had seen of his prices - he had only quoted oe price to me verbally and I accepted that as his only price to come oit. I never agreed to a bigger service but maybe he didn't want to undertand that. I did accept the amount of $385 as it was the only price he had given me for my service. That was my complaint and the issue of my case. He then made up a bogus document that looked ;ike a receipt with my name at the top showing his charges and sent it to Citi. - forms documentation but it never was sent to me. The was the complaint. I never authorized the" bigger service" and never wanted or requested anything but a simple tuning. and he never made any comments as I expected about my piano. when he just did his own thing at the piano, About a week after he left., it was noticed that the tuning was not in tune. I reported it to him and he said sometimes it can change. I then had another technician come out and check it and they confirmed that it was not in tune. IT WAS NOT IN TUNE. He returned for his flashlight he had forgotten and HE TESTED THE TUNING, and confirmed that it was off. HE DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY OR SUPPLIES TO FIX IT, SO.. I agreed TO GO WITH HIM AND PAID THE $40 for the supplies he needed to fix it. The issue is that he is unprofessional and untrustworthy. I wanted the amount of the overage he charge reversed. I also felt that he took advantage of me - an 80 year old woman - to upsell me on a service that I did not understand and he never tried to explain to me or demonstrate a need for. Yet he charged my card for three services - one that was never mentioned, which totaled $324.00 over and above the amount I had authorized to be charged. He was angry when I disputed the $324 extra charge and threatened me because of it .

TL;DR: Paid $1,450 for piano repairs, got ghosted for nearly two months, and only got my piano back…read moreafter involving the police. I'm writing this review to warn others about a deeply troubling experience with Brandon Lewis, owner of Perfect Pitch Piano. After years of routine piano tuning without issue, I hired Brandon in April 2025 to refurbish the keyboard action of our Boston Grand Piano. He quoted $1,450 for the job, took the keyboard to his workshop, and accepted a deposit. Brandon picked up the piano action on May 12, 2025, and promised to return it by May 16. What followed was a string of missed appointments, broken promises, and excuses ranging from medical issues to weather delays. Despite paying the full balance, the refurbished keyboard was never returned. Communication became sporadic and evasive, and attempts to resolve the issue were met with silence or further delays. After weeks of trying to recover the keyboard, I had no choice but to file a police report. In researching Brandon further, I discovered multiple prior reviews from other customers describing similar fraudulent behavior. I strongly recommend reviewing recent feedback from other clients on his Yelp page, where similar complaints--including one involving a Steinway piano action--suggest a troubling pattern, not an isolated incident. The detective assigned to the case attempted to contact Brandon multiple times using all the phone numbers on file, but received no response. It wasn't until the detective left a message stating that charges would be pressed and an arrest warrant issued that Brandon finally returned the call. After much back and forth, Brandon agreed to return the piano action. He claimed he had been hospitalized, that his phone was stolen, and that Apple took an extended time to restore his credentials--hence his lack of communication. Ultimately, Brandon returned the piano action on July 7, 2025--nearly two months after the original promised delivery date. Please do your due diligence and consider alternative providers. What began as a routine service turned into a time consuming and frustrating ordeal.

Central to my East Dallas abode, on the northeast corner of Abrams and Mockingbird...Hillside Village for those in the know, nestled between Steinmart and Lakewood's 1st and 10 (excellent place to park as you wait for your spawn's lesson to finish). In a nutshell, Sarah is the broker between aspiring and broke musicians. She provides beautiful studio spaces and matches teachers to students. So far, so good, but you do pay for the overhead of studio space. Lessons are a bit (but not much) more than in home lessons.

I never do this but this place has me hoping mad. I tried…read moreto sign up for guitar lessons for my daughter. I received a confirmation on the time and date, mind you this place has strict rules on not showing up and prepaying for lessons, showed up for the lesson only to find out that Sarah had booked a second student for that time and the teacher was in with another student. We waited 10 minutes for someone to help us try and figure out the situation but the only people there were other teachers who did not know how to get a hold of Sarah. We went home and I checked my email and found that Sarah had sent a confirmation and changed the time to 4:30 instead of 4pm which had been on all the previous emails. We jumped back in the car and rushed back to her studios got there on time for a 4:30 guitar lesson and again the teacher had a different student scheduled and took them back and just told us sorry. No one could find Sarah to speak to me. I decided to take a break and try to find another guitar teacher. But then emailed Sarah again a few weeks later and asked her to sign us up for Guitar and voice lesson. We had one lesson last week and then this week I get an email half an our before our lesson time canceling on us because the teacher cannot make it. NO phone call just an email. Thank goodness I was right at my computer when it came in. But thats not the best part of this here is the email exchange from today. I cannot believe it. My advise is find somewhere else to take music lessons. On 11/12/14 3:19 PM, "studio" sarah@stroutstudios.com x-msg://155/sarah@stroutstudios.com wrote: HI Tracy, I am so sorry for the late notice. Nick just called to let me know that he was having a hot water heater emergency. Thanks so much, Sarah Strout Talley On Nov 12, 2014, at 3:22 PM, Tracy Nymeyer Re: Olivia's lesson today Ok then we need to cancel the voice lesson too. Please let the teacher know. Also Olivia does not want to take voice at this time she hated that class but loved the guitar class. She is too shy to sing in public she says. I know you have strict rules for last minute cancelations but I hope that since you have cancelled on me last minute that I will be allowed to cancel the voice lesson. Thank you, Tracy Nymeyer On 11/12/14 3:46 PM, "studio" sarah@stroutstudios.com wrote: Dear Tracy, So sorry for your disappointment. The fact that you enrolled for voice where we scheduled you a lesson during the week is a very different cancelation then one of our teachers having an emergency and not being able to come in. We never cancel lesson without offering a make up (as in Nick's lesson today) When you enroll in a lesson you are reserving a spot with one of our teacher for the semester, unless you give the studio 30 days notice that you will be withdrawing. I feel that you are not or have not been happy with our studio from the beginning. Hearing from you that Olivia "hated" her voice lesson is not what we want to hear and feel that maybe we are not a good fit for your family. I haven't received payment from you for lessons( November) so lets call it even and not continue with either guitar or voice lessons. We are so sorry we were disappointing to you. Thanks so much, Sarah Strout Talley Baffled I wrote back to Sarah: When I signed up you took my cc for payment on your system, I thought you were billing automatically. Olivia did not hate the teacher just having to sing in public. But you seem to have made your mind up and don't want us at the studio. I was more than happy to pay for my lessons and thought I had signed up for you to bill my cc. If you need me to give you 30 day notice then that is not a problem on the voice but it has certainly been very difficult working with your studio and things seem to have been a challenge at my inconvenience but when I say I don't want to come today after you cancel on me all of a sudden you are kicking us out. If you don't want Olivia back then let me know. Thank you, Tracy
