We ended up calling out a fireplace tech who found that the wrong (non-identical) cap had been placed on the chimney. It cost us around $400 to order a new cap and pay for two service calls. We contacted Luke at Dingers and he promised to "make it right." However, he is currently ghosting us and not responding to the invoices we have sent him.
