I've got a vehicle I purchased new from Jack Madden eight or so years ago, and I've been religiously going back to them for service, mostly because they do free oilchanges for the life of the vehicle and it makes keeping the vehicle service record a lot cleaner and better organized... or so I thought. I got the battery replaced last year, and a few days ago it just unexpectedly bricked- the vehicle wouldn't start and then I couldn't bring it back with my charger. My neighbor has a badass shop-spec charger he put on it and brought back the battery to life... but it was dead again the next day. I called Jack Madden service to see if the battery I had purchased last year had a warranty, and the person in service didn't really feel like pulling my records so they transferred me to the parts department, who was completely confused what I was asking. So I restated: 'I'm trying to find out if there's a warranty and if it's worth bringing in to repair or if I should have AAA just replace it in my driveway.' His reply: 'Oh... just do that.' You heard it here, folks. AAA was in my driveway quicker than it took me to get off hold with these guys, did a free diagnostic that confirmed my diagnosis, changed the battery for $200 and gave me a 3 year warranty to boot. So as much as these guys have done a lot of work on my vehicle and kept it roadable... if they cost twice as much as AAA and won't give a warranty (or even bother to check if there is one)... just use them for the free oil changes and find other businesses that honor their service agreements to spend your repair dollars at. read more

I was in today and unfortunately found that nobody takes responsibility. I called a week ago to order a part my car needed. After being transferred 6 times (not exaggerating), the part was ordered. Then I was concerned that the part wouldn't be there when I returned, so I made sure with a few more phone calls that they had it in their hands. When I arrived, the part was nowhere to be found and waited over an hour for them to find it with my assistance. Manager said, "oh, the guy who takes your car, doesn't DO parts", even though I insisted to put the part number in my notes, so this situation didn't occur because I knew they were incompetent. "Oh, we put the part back when you didn't come in", but I told them I wasn't coming in for a week and to please hold onto it. Manager made excuses, "I heard the conversation" he said , obviously not. The part should've been there when they saw the appointment in the book so after an hour and a half they rushed to put the part in and didn't take care of the two insignificant things I had asked them to look at when the car was just sitting there while they were all running around with their heads cut off. I lost my temper on Chris Riley, for wasting so much of my time (at this point I was late for work, and I actually take MY work seriously). DO YOUR JOB, its that simple. Got a rejection sticker on my truck. I've been back here twice to get my rejection sticker taken off after the necessary repairs. They didn't tell me that the original tech had to be here. Even though I called ahead this morning to confirm. Today the tech was at lunch so I waited 30 minutes then went to ask. They said he'd gone home instead. So I gently dropped an F bomb, not proud of it. And they tried to make me feel bad about it. Stay away from Jack Madden Ford. read more

Worst experience with them. Say one thing and do another. Would never give them my business. All set to purchase a vehicle with them, shook hands with two people and even confirmed in writing the deal twice. Came back a few days later for the paperwork and all of a sudden that was not the deal anymore. The finance guy Steve even then blamed the sales guy Jason and basically called him an idiot. I made an appointment and dropped the vehicle off after a week I did not hear from Jack madden I drove there found the vehicle same spot I left it. And after 28 days I picked up the vehicle and went to the gas station and pump 7 gallons of gas and all went to the ground. Don't go to Jack madden and expecting good service. The service department is terrible. i've had problems every time I brought my car in service. I need an appointment for new tires. They had the car for two days because the service writer said someone else took the tires he ordered and didn't replace the order. if you decide to sit in the waiting room and wait for your vehicle, even for an oil change plan on a long way. read more

I purchased my truck from this company in 2017 and have had this and other trucks serviced there before. I brought my truck in yesterday for two items: trailer light connections were not work and the the truck was turning over longer until it would start. I was charged $600 for diagnostic work they did no work to the truck and these two items did not take $600 o billable time to evaluate. The indicated I signed the work order which reviewed the issues but did not show me that there would be a $300 charge for each item, The usual fine print game. They did however have time to find $4000 of additional work and addressed a recall but somehow they spent $600 worth of time also diagnosing my actual issues. Stay away from this service department because they clearly do not care about customer loyalty or transparency. read more

I am a owner of an 2020 ford escape truck. I had an appointment with Jack madden ford 825 Providence Hwy, Norwood, MA 02062 on 1/11 at 7:30am I dropped my car 1/10 the night before. They didn't look at my vehicle until 1/14 there was slim to no communication between me and the dealer. The only time I get communication is when I call 3 or more times and leave voicemails. I have been asking for a loaner car the rep that I have been working with stated that basically my issues aren't as important for me to get a loaner car. I also spoke with ford company customer support corporate office rep name Ford Motor Company ® Devin Dean ddean64@ford.com office: 1-866-631-3788 ext. 79609 Whom has been ok. The understanding is my parts are on back order but there are 3 different dealerships around the nation I have called and has one part each. Devin told me that my dealer Jack Madden ford can still order the parts from the dealers and she was going to communicate that to them as well. But when I reached out on a text message chain that she started the only reply I received was the parts are on back order once she spoke to the rep at Jack Madden. Which is crazy.This whole thing has been a nightmare. Devin spoke to rep at Jack madden which told her they have a contract with enterprise for loaner cars. Then a week later after several failed attempts to get in contact with my representative Cindy at Jack madden the contact with enterprise magically disappeared. My car is still under bumper to bumper warranty and I have already called other Ford dealers that have my part in stock I sent to information over. And I just keep getting the run around. If you are thinking about going to ford reconsider. Communication is horrible and you will feel like your business doesn't matter to them. read more

** Be aware Works package is not honored*** This must be the only dealer in the state of Mass that does not honor the Works service package. Vehicle has been serviced here since purchasing. Scheduled appointment, asked specifically for works service which for the last 3 years has been around 65.00$ and confirmed. As soon as I show up the service person says the works has been split into to services which will be 115.00$. Called 3 local dealers in the vicinity and they all honor the works at 65. Very shady practice to lure costumers and charge them almost double. One way to loose a costumer for sure. read more

I emailed/texted this morning with the dealership (via a chatbot/follow-up email) to set up an appointment to test drive a ford mustang mach-e. I received an appointment confirmation, came to the dealer, and was told there were no mach-e's to test drive and that they're charging a $5,000 purchase premium on the car because anybody who wants it will buy it without a test drive. This place is a SCAM. I could talk about how rude their customer support team is or perhaps how snarky they are when you are trying to get a quote. But, I'd like to focus on the fact that they are liars. I made them an offer for a car in writing. They respond "My Boss says he would like to do the Deal.... But he has to see the [trade in]." Great! I drive in they evaluate the trade in and give me exactly what I was asking for but, the price was $5000 over the deal they said they would do. Called out the sales manager Sean and his response was "I never agreed to anything!" A representative of your company did. Basically they are performing a horrendous bait and switch. They lie to get you in the door and then don't offer their claims. I have been to multiple dealers and purchased multiple cars. A surprise $500 document fee? Annoying but standard. $5000 extra out the door? I'm willing to bet their sales manager has a get people in the door quota so he is willing to misrepresent to meet it. Salesperson tells us we cannot pay cash. You must finance, which means pay interest. WTF? Also, dealer would not accept a deposit to hold the car, even for a few hours while we shopped around. The service dept people including Cindy and other workers have been more than helpful and Jack Maddens a pretty good guy too! The absolute worst. I bought a certified used explorer here with the premium ford warranty that includes rental car coverage. Exactly 12 months and 2 days later the timing chain needed work after the water pump had to be replaced. They tell me to bring it in, will only take an hour. So I get there, and now they want it for a couple hours. I get a ride back home. Now they want it overnight. So I ask about the rental car coverage - "sorry - we dont do that, that's not our business" - it's crazy - every other dealership would find some way to get you to a rental car agency one way or another. I specifically paid for the rental car coverage and they wouldnt even offer to use their shuttle to take me to avis or something. They should be the ones coordinating everything for me. I'd reccomend Muzi ford. I had my truck serviced there a year ago, their shuttle took me to enterprise and enterprise sent the bill directly to the dealer. And I returned the rental car directly to Muzi and picked my car back up. Jack Madden wouldnt do anything like that. read more

This dealership calls me on a Saturday to make a deal on a Bronc. I accept the deal. They tell me to send my credit card information and a photo of my license. I sent this information two hours later they send me a text, saying sorry we sold your vehicle.I called talk to the manager. He said the vehicle was sold at 10 o'clock in the morning. if this is the case, then why did the salesman text me after 10 o'clock in the morning asking for my information. The manager was useless! All he did was lie and said it is sold what do you want me to do about it... what kind of response is this for screwing up? Ok- I'm delayed on my review- by about 7 years. But I will split this into two categories- first is for sales and second is for service. 1. Sales- in 2011 my hand me down 1997 Ford Taurus LX was dying. Transmission was leaking and with 157,000 on the odometer it was time to say goodbye (I loved that Duratec engine). I spent some time with my girlfriend at the time (now wife) shopping for a new car for her and she bought a 2008 Fusion SE. I drove it and loved it. Praising the web I found JMF had a 2008 Fusion S for sale for around $11,500- 57,000 miles. I reached out and got a response from Gary Brigham. An appointment was made and I went to see the car two days later. Jet black- and shiny and it was awesome. Gary was phenomenal- not sure if he's still there but see Gary. He started off by saying "Your shopping for your car; I will never pressure you to buy or up sell. I prefer to have the buyer choose their path to the right car." He was right- I test drove the Fusion with Gary explaining the features and returned to the lot. I was ready to buy! Gary valued my trade in, and negotiated a better and lower price for the car with me- the man is awesome. I purchased my car- worked with the finance rep to get a loan and a week later said goodbye to my Taurus and hello to my new Fusion- which is now at 103,000 miles and going strong. Awesome sales experience. 2. Service- this is where a Star is sadly lost- the service is well...iffy. I brought the car in for oil changes- no problem. When at the gas station the pump would constantly click off while starting to fuel- uh oh- back to JMF to see what the issue is! I had a warranty on the car and this should be covered. The car went in for two days- I got myself a sweet rental in the meantime to get me to and from work. JMF calls and says it's the filler neck- I say I highly doubt that- same issue on my last car which was 15 years old and I had the filler neck tested by a reputable exhaust shop and it came back 100%. They insisted then told me it wasn't covered under warranty. I replied that if they read the warranty they would see it isn't a normal wear and tear part and would be. Some calls later they said it was and they were replacing it- despite my objections. It was replaced I got my car back and went to the gas station to fill it up- hey maybe it was the filler neck- no fuel stoppage. Cool. Fast forward to the next two fill ups- guess what was back!? The sudden stoppage. I went to a mechanic I trust who said at no charge he'd look at it. He called me a day later and said it was the float in the gas tank. The tank might have to be replaced but if I can live with a slow fill up it wouldn't be an issue. I've been slow filling my car for years since then. Minus one star for service there. Don't replace parts without checking the entire system. Oh well- I paid peanuts for the repair so I shrugged it off. read more

Worst service , worst diagnostic workup ever. We brought our Ford 150 4x4 in recently for a strange electrical issue . The truck was diagnosed with a faulty transmission and we were recommended to replace the transmission for $10,000. This truck had no history of any transmission issues. One afternoon it simply did not start up . AAA got it running that day and recommended we see a Ford service center. When we showed up and paid our $189 for the Diagnostics there was no paperwork ready for us. We had to wait nearly 40 minutes for the technician to create a report for us. In the report there is no evidence of a bad transmission on the driving test only a bad code for the range sensor in the transmission. Fixing a range sensor which is a $27 part is it labor intensive and costs around $1,000. When we asked why the $1,000 repair wasn't recommended we were told that in the end it would cost more than replacing the transmission if we went that route. More than $10,000! In the end we took the truck to a real transmission shop who initially thought it was a bad wire but in the end it was simply a bad electrical connection to the transmission . The truck is fine and we save $10,000 by not listening to Jack Madden . We will never ever go back there again. read more

Not that my review will come as a surprise after reading some of the other reviews but I feel it is important to mention my recent experience. I have been a customer of this dealership for many years. I have bought several cars from here. I have had all my cars serviced here. Never have had any issues until this year. I had total trust that my car was being serviced correctly. This year I noticed a huge turnover in personal which included a new service manager. A few months ago, all the warning lights went off. I called to schedule service. I had to wait 3 weeks before my car could be serviced. I was initially told a few hours only to find out the repairs would take at least three days. I was given a loaner vehicle which I appreciated. I returned 3 days later to pick up my car. I drove for one mile and all the warning lights came back. I returned to the dealership and it was another 3 days before I was able to get back my car. 2 months later I had an oil change done. Simple right, should take 30 mins to one hour tops. After 2 hours and watching several customers who came after me come and go, I inquired about the delay. To my surprise my car came out immediately. I was told they had a few problems but all was good now. I was never told what type of problems even though I asked. A few hours later I received an alert that my oil needed to be changed. A day later my car would not start and I had to have it towed. My new car with only 39,000 miles needed a new battery. I asked while they were replacing the battery to please double check and make sure my oil was changed and the mechanic just forgot to reset my gage. Fast forward 4 weeks and guess what alert came on this morning? My oil needs to be changed. I brought my vehicle to another service center. After have a second oil change in a month the tech told me my oil had not been changed and to make matters worse he informed me that he added coolant because my reservoir was empty. Seriously don't know what changes were made within the last year but Jack Madden needs to reevaluate his management team before he loosing his family business. read more

My work truck broke down, the drive shaft went. The told me that it was a week wait. When I told them it was how I made my living and I was a one man shop. They got me in the next day and it was done by the end of that day. I cannot thank them enough for getting me right on road. read more

Have taken my car in four times now to get a valve replaced and every time, I wait in the service waiting room an hour before someone walks in to tell me why it cannot be done. They also let us drive off of the lot once without tightening the wheels. Pumped we didn't die. read more

My wife and I have leased three consecutive Ford Escapes from Jack Madden Ford, on 24 month leases... so you could say we were loyal customers. However, last week, as the third lease was about to expire, we had decided to buy the car at the end of the lease. Our leasing contract specified that we could buy the car for the price of the residual value, plus a documentation and title fee. When the salesman prepared the invoice, I noticed that there was an additional $500 added to the price. When I asked what this was for, I was told that it was a 'standard' fee when customers bought their leased car. I pointed out that we had a contract... and the contract did not state that there would be any additional fees, outside of what the contract specified... but the salesman... as well as the sales manager... wouldn't budge. So, we turned in the car... and went over to a nearby Mazda dealer and leased a car from them. Jack Madden Ford was clearly dishonest and unethical, in refusing to honor the contract that we, and they, had signed. We won't do business with them, ever again... and it's pretty shocking that they would treat a repeat customer like that. read more

This place is a joke. High preasure sales that has not adapted to the modern era. The service department is even worse. 3 weeks to get an appointment... for an oil change. I have a had several encounters because i have a ford under warranty and forced to use a ford dealer. Many visits result in returns because they cant fix anything in 1 try. My latest encounter 5 times for a check engine light still not fixed. In fact the engine is no knocking. I called friday to tell them the light was back on an hour after it left. No loaner car to give me. One week later "sorry no rentals " its a joke 3 months 5 visits car still not fixed m. Jack should give me his personal car if needed at this point. Went here today to test drive a mustang and as soon as i pull up there's a salesman waiting... which is fine but the entire interaction was completely unprofessional and the guy was a complete asshole...
