His crew had the heat pump installed in a day while I went to Pigeon Forge to escape the work. The subcontractors who did the sheet metal and plastic ductwork all over the house weren't nearly as neat and careful. But they also did a good, fast job. Twenty years later the heat pump sounded funny during winter of 2014 -'15 and worked for the first few cooling days of May 2015 but then went out so I didn't blink. I called Kilby Heat & Air immediately and Mr. Charles Kilby came out the same day. In a few minutes he confirmed what I figured...dead compressor. He suggested a brand new electric Rheem heat pump. Lots more efficient, so quiet the birds singing in my backyard literally drown out the noise of the heat pump. Good people to work with. I recommend Kilby Heat and Air to anyone. They maintained my old Ruud heat pump from 1995 to 2015 without charge. Never a problem in 20 years. Good product, correctly installed. Great pricing for new 2015 installation of Rheem 14 electric heat pump outdoor unit and Rheem indoor air handler. Products and services for major HVAC work can really run into lots of money and contractors are hard to tell apart. It is good to know who is trustworthy. Kilby Heat and Air has taken care of the inside environment of my home since 1995. Looks like another 20 years has begun, maybe I'll see Mr. Kilby again in 2035. I'll be 77. Maybe Charles will be retired...doubt it. Charles Kilby and his sons did the work 20 years ago. This year I met his grandson. Good young man...friendly, smart, well-spoken, easy to talk with.
