They advertised a meal on the sign outside just before you get to the speaker to order in the Drive-Thru. I tried to order that meal. They had NO IDEA what I was talking about! So I just ordered something else that was simple, and a normal menu item. I even told them what the price of the item was and they still didn't have a clue. read more

Sat in the drive through for 20 minutes ordered two sandwiches and 2 hashbrowns, nothing special. When I finally got to the window the lady asked me to pull around to the front and park to wait for my very simple order. All together I ended up waiting 33 minutes. I thought I went to a FAST food restaraunt. I think I was also more astounded at the fact that there is no line and the restaraunt is now empty and only then did I get my food. The hashbrowns and sandwiches were room temperature. It's safe to say I'll never be coming to this location ever again read more

I thought my drive-thru experience was going to be in and out and all I wanted was a breakfast combo #22 and ice coffee (sandwich, hash brown, and drinks). Not complicated at all. My incident occurred on Wednesday, 6/252/25, approximately 7am. I was greeted and in seconds time I was placed on hold. Not sure why. My hold time must have lasted approximately 5 minutes. There was a car ahead of me and another behind at the time my order was being placed. I was able to see through the windows and saw that there were no customers inside the restaurant. I had my niece in my car and as a witness to my transaction, she too recalls the order (she ordered the coffee). By the way, staff never apologized for the wait. Fast forward, my order was placed. I proceeded to drive up to the window where a female looking staff hands my order in a large paper bag. As I looked inside the bag, I had noticed hash browns were missing. When I brought it to staff's attention, she said I had only asked for the breakfast sandwich and not #22. After going back and forth with my claim, I wasn't sure why she continued to "argue" with me, stating that I did not order #22. I would have thought that as a trained drive-thru window cashier, she would have stopped arguing with me, got my order corrected without question, apologized and allowed me to drive off as a satisfied customer. Well, that morning, I was very unsatisfied. The breakfast sandwich was alright. Would have been better tasting with hash browns to go with it. Due to lack of time, I was unable to wait for my order to be corrected. Sadly, in this case, I was never offered the opportunity. All staff offered was poor service. For this review, I left zero stars for service. The drive-thru staff lacked professionalism and quality customer service. That morning, staff had choices to make when I confronted her that my hash brown was missing. Im pretty sure she could have re-rung my order in seconds and if she didn't know how do it, she should have asked for a lead staff or manager to help. I highly recommend that drive-thru staff gets re-trained on: - how to speak to customers - how to keep customers satisfied - how to use a register and troubleshoot Jack in the Box has been a part of my life since 70s. This incident will not stop me from returning to any of their restaurants. Unless I was desperate, I would not return to Melrose Drive in Vista, California. read more

This place is okay. I try to order ahead and sometimes my food is cold. Also, they tend to forget some items so double check, it's happened twice. Lastly, they do get some crazies outside and I don't mean homeless who just ask for food but people with serious drug problems right by the speaker. read more

So this Jack in the Box is a hit or mess. You have some people that actually go there to work and enjoy their job. You have some of the guys that are very nice people, but I went there this morning and there's two young girls and their attitude says everything they don't even wanna be there if you don't like your job maybe you should quit and find another one. I usually don't do this, but it has become a problem because it's not the first time that these girls look like they don't want to be there. It's not fair when people are spending money especially on a meal that looks like it should be worth no more than six dollars but you're spending 20 so maybe corporate needs to do something with their attitude and if you say that they already have training maybe train them more. however, I will give kudos to the people that worked there. They do have an excellent attitude and are very nice to people, but I think the two young girls know who they are because this morning you were the only two there in the front and there was an older lady and an older guy and both of them always have a good attitude. The workers are fine it's just the cooperatives I have a problem with. 15.12 for curly fries and a Large drink with a burger smaller than my palm !? That's absurd from the looks of it they're using the breakfast buns from breakfast to spend less in inventory and more money for the company. Again, the workers are great! This is a decent JitB, though with a LOT of variation. Sometimes the wait is short, interior clean, and food hot. Other times...I guess that there's not much 'surge capacity' at this restaurant, as sometimes it can get backed up in a major way. Kudos for doing a consistently hot and decent-tasting taco, though it's definitely of the mystery-meat variety. This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. The S. Melrose Jack in the box has to be the WORST one around. I ordered ahead of time to beat the dinner rush and arrived about 15 mins after placing my order. They were busy so I didn't expect to walk in and get my food right away even after ordering ahead. I let them know I was there to pick up my order and they acknowledged me and continued working. As people kept coming in and placing orders other people started receiving their food. By now 15 mins has gone by so I asked again if they knew when my order would be done and I was told by a very rude female worker that I was going to need to be patient. I felt I didn't deserve to be treated with an attitude after I had already been very patient and just wanted an update on when my food would be done. I asked the worker for her some and she looked confused and asked why. I told her I'd like to leave a complaint with the manager and name her specifically. She then laughed in my face and refused to give me her name. Then I asked for the manager on duty. I was told no manager was working. So I asked who was in charge and a small woman approached the counter. I asked her for the name of the rude girl that was handling my order. She refused to give me the name or even her own name. There is no accountability at this location. I ended up getting my food shortly after and this could have all been avoided with good customer service. Came here to break a $20 and get something to eat, because a burger didn't sound too bad. Well, it WAS bad. After standing at the register for somewhere between 5 to 10 min without any greeting/acknowledgment of any kind, someone finally came and took my order. I got the double jack meal, which is the equivalent of a McDonald's double quarter pounder, just with lettuce and tomato on it. That's not what I got. I was missing an entire burger patty when I finally got around to eating it. I wasn't able to go back to the store to get it fixed, as I was in the middle of doing laundry and didn't want to leave my stuff unattended. This kind of service is not what deserves $15/hr. This is the 3rd time I try to place an order at their Drive-through between 3:00-4:00am I Work the night shift at VDF and nothing else is open close by and all 3 times, a woman's voice tells me that they are closed, however, this place is SUPPOSED to be open 24/7!!! You can see team members sitting at the dining area and today, after I was told once again that they are closed, I continued on the drive through and the car in front of me was given a bag of food... I don't understand! If team members need to take a break, I get it, but the establishment that is supposed to be open 24hrs. Should not "close" for an hour or so when that happens. read more

Nov 11, 2022 around 11:00pm The night crew to busy listening to music. Not paying attention to what customers are ordering. Ordered 10 chicken nuggets and got a box of onion rings. Then after paying for the food 2 mins later they then came back asking for the payment again. Then hours later came back around 5:14am because my wife wanted some tacos. William the manager was terrible!!!!!!! My family and I stopped by and ordered some late night snacks after movies in the park. (We went in and ordered, not drive thru) I ordered 4 breakfast jacks. Upon looking at my receipt I noticed they rang me up for 4 jumbo jacks. I quickly went to the counter to let Daniel (the cashier ) know that I didn't want jumbo jacks I wanted breakfast jacks. He seemed confused and got the manager, William . William immediately came over extremely aggressive and hostile. OVER JUMBO JACKS!!!!! I explained to him that there was a Mis communication and that I wanted breakfast jacks. He wanted to know who's fault it was! My friend heard me order and was sure I said the right thing as I had a bunch of 7 year old boys that only eat breakfast jacks. I felt bad for Daniel as I got the impression he was new. William was sooooo rude and made me and I can only imagine how he made the employee feel. Needless to say we will never be back. I plan on calling corporate. Blah. I don't quite understand why this chain is so successful. We ordered a cheeseburger, a chicken sandwich, and some onion rings. The cheeseburger was not the worst I've ever had, but it was close. It wasn't seasoned particularly well and it was drowning in ketchup and mayonnaise. It also had way too much bread and very little meat. The patty was also very greasy. The chicken tasted old and the batter was not good. The onion rings were just as bad. This happened awhile ago but my bf just reminded me of this incident and told me to make it known... My bf, our friend (who are both Hispanic) and I went to this location late at night and I'm pregnant so I've been getting morning sickness randomly throughout the day. I felt like throwing up so I was pretty much dying in the passanger's seat when we went through the drive thru. The employee at the window was a black woman and basically said when we pulled up that she didn't like the look on the white girls face (me) and she was going to fight me.
