I went there today and the employee that took my order had gloves on. I paid cash and he gave me my change then took an order outside to someone waiting. I watched then as he got my order ready using the same gloves. I ordered curly fries. When I told him that, wearing the same gloves put back the regular fries and then put in curly fries. I said to him "you are wearing the same gloves" he then said i will make another order. By then I was upset and when the manager heard his only response was to give my money back. I left watching the dirty fries going to another customer in drive thru. They are not clean at Mast Blvd, Jack in the Box in Santee. I never expect much when going to jack in the box because you know it's fast food you get what you pay for but I thought I would write a review in hopes that the manager sees it. I go to this location almost every other morning for a little breakfast and coffee since it is right next to the freeway entrance. My order has never been correct... every time I order it seems to be the same lady taking my order. She will take the first part of the order and then rush to tell me my total without asking if I was even done... This morning had to be the worst. I was trying to order a breakfast sandwich and did so but when I was about to order another item I was told my total was $7.20. I had told the employee that I would like another hash brown on top of the order and her response was "it comes with a hash brown. $7.20 thank you." It took me three times before I was able to make her understand that I wanted an ADDITIONAL hash brown and even after that I was stilled rushed with my total and was not aloud to finish. Like I mentioned in the beginning of my review, I don't expect much from jack in the box because it's fast food and you get what you paid for but please for the love of god just let me finish an order so I don't go crazy on your employees. As an essential worker, my job has me starting at 1am pretty much every day, to allow enough time to sanitize and prepare the store for the elderly folks. Food is good but the service is lacking. Got my order AFTER people that ordered AFTER me which is one of my biggest pet peeves. I used to work in fast food as well, so I know why the customers get irritated & how to prevent it. Went at 11:15, not much of a lunch rush yet, but they totally forgot about my order until I had to REMIND THEM. terrible. This location is very stingy of everything. Yes, I'm reviewing a Jack in the Box. But this is no ordinary Jack in the Box. This place truly deserves to be reviewed. They are awesome here. This place is right on my way to a friend's house in Santee, and I sometimes go here when pressed for time and need a quick dinner. I've been here probably 7 times in the last year. EVERY time I've been here, I've left thinking, "Wow, they're good." Unlike pretty much every other fast food place out there, I think they truly care here. I've never been asked "how was the service" before at comparable places, but I have been asked that question EVERY time here. Moreover, their food is always fresh and hot, especially the fries, which feel like they've come right out of the deep fryer every time. While I ordinarily wouldn't review a fast food place that's just A-OK, this place is the exception because--when compared to other fast food restaurants--they are as good as it gets. I try not to get fast food too often, but this place is super close to my apartment, and is the default when I'm too lazy to cook, so 3 stars was my rating..... HOWEVER, two weeks ago I visited this place, around 10:30pm after waking up from a long nap in the evening, and ordered the Deli Trio Sandwich combo, with curly fries and Diet Coke. When I got home I put about 2 shots of bourbon in the diet coke. I ate the meal, and finished the drink and went to bed. I woke up about 2 hours later (around 1:00am) and still felt full like the food hadn't digested AT ALL, and was starting to get a little queazy. I know and hate this feeling. The feeling got worse over the next hour or so and I had realized it was food poisoning when the vomiting started. The vomiting lasted all morning, and I know it was the sandwich or fries because that is all I had eaten since that afternoon. 3 shots of bourbon does not make me vomit. The rest of the next two days I was vomiting from the other end. I will never eat at this or any Jack in the Box again for years, as one bout of food poisoning just about does it for me with any restaurant. One silver lining to this story, I haven't drank a drop of alcohol since this incident either... well, bourbon anyway =-) read more

I know it is due to coaching but their is always a friendly goodbye and hope to see you again soon attached to every visit. Jack in the Box is what it is, they are cheap, quick, and quality food no matter what time day or night. I love almost everything on their menu. They have good grilled or crispy chicken, sirloin or regular burgers, and sides like their bacon cheddar potato wedges. This one in particular is good with drive thru and walk in service. They get you in the drive thru and out in no time flat. If you need something quick and want something that is going to fill you up this is your place. read more

Where do I start with this place. Last time I was here (week or two ago) they had the most rudest, unprofessional workers I have ever seen in my life. Order was wrong, drove back and told them about the wrong order and they gave me attitude. At that point I did not want my order anymore in fear of what they did to it, because my meal was poorly put together. I gave them a bad rate on the little survey thing on the receipt not thinking much about it, and the manager actually called me. I was happy to hear an apology and was told I would be sent coupons for my bad experience.. Guess what?? Did not get those or hear from them again. Great service here inside and out. I mostly use the drive-thru and they always ask how the service has been. I have been coming here since 2003 and the service was always good but has really gotten better in the past few years. I especially like the Asian woman that works weekday mornings. She remembers me and always has a nice word no matter how early it is. They were a lifesaver after the big blackout last September. I had to get to work at 8:30 am the next day and they were up and running and serving their egg sandwiches and usual breakfast fare just several hours after power was restored. They saved me from having to eat bread and oatmeal that day! The drive-thru is fast and I can't remember them ever screwing up an order. I rarely go inside since I like to avoid the scuzzy teens that hang out inside and in the parking lot. But overall, this is a nice neighborhood place to grab a quick and cheap meal. If you are on a budget, you can't beat their cheap burgers and the 2 tacos for 99 cents. read more

I ordered a shake and other food from the app as I was on my lunch hour, so I thought it would go quicker. When I got to the store, the manager, who was about 20 years old and very rude, told me they were out of shake mix, that they couldn't make my shake. I asked him for a refund and he said "Good luck with that, try to get it from the app". When I asked him to show me. He said that he doesn't know how to do it. I asked him for the corporate number and he laughed at me again and said "He doesn't know it and that he doesn't know how to give refunds and I probably won't get one. Sorry"! And laughed at me again. Then laughed at me again when I asked him for the rest of my order. he said "What order?" Just got home from here. Omg worst experience ever!!! I was next door at Starbucks while my husband went to order some value fries. I got my drink, left to meet him at jack. At that point I saw him standing infront of the register thinking he was waiting on the fries. Well, he was still waiting for someone to take his order!!! I see what I'm thinking is the manager walk in and he sees my husband but doesn't even ask if he's been helped. I walk in and I ask him "excuse me; we haven't been helped" . So to start off, I used to work at Jack In The Box a little over a year ago. So I know how's things are "supposed" to run. First off, your onion rings are supposed to have 8 rings per order (unless they are larger or smaller then you should get 1-2less or more). 90% of the time I only get 5-6 rings and trust me they are not large! Also the milkshake machine should be cleaned every single night and must be kept at a specific temperature. Milk spoils!!! I drank maybe a third of a Regular sized chocolate milk shake and within 5 minutes I threw it all up. Please beware if you decide to eat here! read more

How would you like to eat off a table that had just been wiped with the same cloth that was used to wipe down the top of the trash can. I saw it done by a young male what appeared to be a manager in training. I spoke with the older woman manager about this. She saw nothing wrong with this kind of cleaning. She stated the trash is in the can below in a bag (like I did not know this). What about the trash that falls on the top around the little hole (so you don't throw away their baskets by mistake) Example: the snotty napkin you used to blow your nose, or maybe the napkin you used to wipe up the spit up from a cute baby,etc. Need I say more . read more

I went there on 01/24/2020 and ordered a grande sausage burrito and they actually put my order in wrong and when they came out with the first order I told them that I ordered a burrito and they came out with a sandwich. I told them again that I ordered a burrito and they told me that they can't take the sandwich back since it was already paid for and that they would give me a discount for buying the food I actually wanted and I declined. Came there again 01/26/2020 and ordered the same thing as a combo and was missing the hash brown. I'm just really upset because I gave them the benefit of the doubt by buying food from them after my ordered being messed up. I don't think I will ever go here again. read more

Jack in the Box is like an old friend. You dont see them much but when you do, you always smile and have some good things to talk(eat) about. 2 tacos for 99cents cannot be beat. The hamburgers are always fresh and taste better then most fast food places. Oreo Cookie shake....Im listening! Jack used to be a lifesaver for me when I lived in up Santa Barbara. I was making like 5 bucks an hour so we barely had enough money to get a 12 pack of Keystone Light and some grub. For 3 bucks we would get 4 tacos and a jumbo jack on sourdough. Back in the day they used to let you get your burger on sourdough for free and we thought it was the greatest thing ever. All good things come to an end though and now they charge you something to get it on sourdough. Anyways.....this location is right across the street from my pad and its usually crowded but they pump out your grub pretty quick. They even have one of those space age machines inside where you dont even have to talk to anyone to order. You put your money in, hit the touch screen and tell them what you want and then wait for your number to be called. Somewhat cool, somewhat lame all at the same time. Ordered our food and the lady taking our order couldn't understand our order and we had to repeat it 3 times. Got home and our order wasn't right at all. Called and spoke to Denise(the shift manager that took our order) and was told to bring it back and get refunded $4.13...we were hungry and wanted the right food so we brought our food back only to be told that we actually needed the receipt to be refunded. We didn't think we needed it because the lady on the phone remembered us....it had only been like 10 mins since we left. She refused to refund us because we didn't have the receipt, but failed to say that over the phone when we called. CRAZY. She also said we were "fussing"....So rude. This will be the last time I ever go into that store. I was in the other day late in the evening in time enough to hear one of the kitchen workers tell another one to "F You ". Thankfully I didn't have any of my grandchildren with me. The manager or whatever was on duty never reprimanded the person for the use of his language. Today I was in there and the manager was arguing with an employee who apparently had quit and the manager was refusing to give him his regular paycheck. I will never go into such a poorly managed store again and I will make a remark and find somebody higher up. I'm the type of person who is more than happy to open my mouth to both congratulate/commend Someone as well as make sure a poor employee Is also recognized. I managed for over 30 years. i ordered a sourdough jack with no tomatoes. when i picked it up. the drive thru attendant read back the order with no tomato. then when i went to eat it i took a bite the burger had tomato's on it. i can not eat tomato because of stomach ulcers. now im sick my stomach is burning. last time this happened i was sick for weeks. absolutely check your food out before you drive away. this fast food restaurant just can not get orders right. i hope i do not develop another ulcer because of this. i called this fast food restaurant 4x. they do not answer their phone. i had to leave a message. like really. they have not called back. there is no way to fix the issue without going to the fast food restaurant in person. guess i have to leave a bad review. if i could give zero stars i absolutely would. jack in the box absolutely does mot care about their customers. all they care about is taking your money and leaving you high and dry. worst service ever. absolutely awful. read more

This is by far the worst Jack In The Box in Santee when it comes to customer service and food quality. This particular Jack has been terrible since I can remember & I grew up just down the street so I went here often. Recently my dad and I were out early on a Saturday going to yard sales, we got hungry so we decided to stop here because my dad wanted something specifically from Jack. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a breakfast sandwich with orange juice and coke. As we were waiting behind the person paying in the drive thru, a very intimating homeless man came up and starting harassing the woman in front of us while she was paying. She had a young child with her while this man was yelling at her. None of the employees did anything about this. Once we got to the window, I realized the MANAGER was working the window. He did NOTHING to help this woman who was being harassed. In fact, my dad said something to him & he just shrugged like it was no big deal. He said it happens all the time.
