    Rolled potato tacos.
    Ed M.

This spot is by a barber shop I go to. Figured I would try it as a quick lunch after a haircut. They had 5 rolled potato tacos under $8. I nabbed a large jamaica with it. The tacos were freshly cooked, hot, and delicious. The red sauce that came with it gave an extra flavor of deliciousness. I need to come back here soon and try their other items.

We tried the Burrito, and I had the Fish Soft Taco, which I loved. However, the beef bowl with avocado, beans, rice, peppers, and tomatoes in this shop, it felt like too much going on flavor-wise. On the bright side, we enjoyed the delicious pineapple juice. The server is nice and I asked to get another Juice and he said pay after when we are done, he told me next time. Thank you for the treat! Overall, it was a good experience at Roberto's Taco Shop in Santee.

    Bacon and Eggs Breakfast Burrito

Since 1964, Robert's Taco Shop has been making great Mexican fast food in San Diego. Today's visit taught me that they are still making that very good quality Mexican eats. That being said, I had the bacon and eggs breakfast burrito with cheddar cheese and potatoes. The was not only large but under $10 at $8.95 which is hard to find these days in San Diego. I loved that the bacon was thick and had a great chew, not to mention crispy as well. The eggs were well scrambled and seasoned. The potatoes were good but were over done and super soft. They put a good amount of cheese in the burrito and the giant flour tortillas has that nice buttery texture. I had the burrito with both the red and green hot sauces. The red house was delicious and as I remember it visiting Roberto's around San Diego in years past. Service was very friendly and the peeps in the kitchen had a very good senses of humor. I hope they upgrade the furniture because it's still the old stuff from the previous business. They need to go with those traditional red seats.

Ah yes, Rubber Toes, welcome to Santee. I heard you just opened and steadily getting foot traffic as word gets around. You know what that means? A longer wait time than usual and less parking for the other strip mall tenants, at least until the initial hype simmers down. I don't think they were expecting the volume of apparent local fans for one of the OG __berto's taco shops. I imagine they'll sort out the staffing issue. Food was very good and I will return to check out more classic taco shop snacks. I appreciate that the menu is basic and not cumbersome to read, but on the flip side, misses out on creativity or enticing new bites to try. For a day-one opening, what we ordered was delicious. Carne asada burrito was yummy as expected and the rolled tacos had a nice crispy crunch, filled nicely with shredded beef, and topped with fresh guacamole, lettuce, shredded cheddar and cotija cheese. The dining room looks to be a work in progress. I noticed a beer bar, but not in service yet, and I'm not sure if a salsa bar or fountain soda pops will be available, but there are soft drink options in the fridge by the ordering counter, or a few steps away at 7-Eleven next door. Other notables at this time: * TV playing a movie (Titanic btw) * Patio table seating * No drive-thru * No kids menu * No Taco Tuesday or other specials posted The question is longevity. Many taco shops have tried and died at this same location. Hopefully they'll stick around for a while. Familiar brand. Quality snacks." While Roberto's is the new kid on the block (of Cuyamaca & Mast), the familiar menu is old school, tried and true, and so good to inspire clones hoping to cash in on the Berto's name. The question is longevity. Many taco shops have gone through here

The hot sauce is good. We got carnitas nachos and the meat was cut into cubes and tasted a little plain. Overall it was okayyyyy but don't think we'll be returning.

Carne Asada Burrito- hollow, bland, skinny.

When Robertos came to Santee it was amazing. The food tasted good, the burritos were a very nice size, and they were $10...... Unfortunately, the food quality has gone down, the prices have gone up ($13), and the food just doesn't taste as good. I genuinely don't like to write reviews. Especially negative ones for that matter. I just think that most could agree with the fact that a majority of restaurants have inflated their prices and the quality of the food has gone down. Specifically, Taco Shops around San Diego. After my order of two carne asada burritos and 5 rolled tacos tonight, I have made the hard choice to not go back to Roberto's Taco Shop in Santee again. Uhhhh, it's literally located right down the street from where I live. The burrito's were really skinny, the meat was bland, and the rolled tacos were rubbery. I have pictures of one of the burritos and I'm gonna try to figure out how to upload them. I didn't get a picture of the other burrito because my daughter ate it in the other room. All in all, even though I'm very disappointed in the prices and quality of the food, I'll go spend $16 for a Carne Asada burrito at Syulita's because at least I know I'm gonna get a big burrito that tastes good and will likely have to eat it in two sessions. Quality and quantity matters restaurant owners. Taco shops need to do better!

    Fish and Adobada taco

Taco Tuesday, ordered 2x Fish Taco, 2x Adobada Taco, 2x Coors Lights and a Large Horchata for $21 bucks. Tacos were excellent, beers were served ice cold in frosted glasses. Staff was friendly. Honestly can't beat it!

Grilled Shrimp Taco, 2/$7 draft beer
    Scot H.

Came in for tacos. Had the grilled shrimp taco and the adobada taco(not pictured) with their two draft beers for $7 deal. I also found out they have $1.99 fish tacos which are also delicious. Service was fast and friendly as every other time I have been here. Inside is very clean and relaxing. Although I skipped it today, the habanero salsa is legit

Great Mexican Food. Super authentic Taco Shop in the heart of Santee, California. Also, don't miss out on the churros and horchata.

Santee has quite a few taco shops. After 2 months of moving to Santee I had lost hope that I would find a good taco shop in town. But all hope was restored when I went to Roberto's. Good flavor, lettuce was no where to be found, great portions, & good prices. I got a full order of carne asada fries & 2 adobada tacos. The red & green salsa were both very good. I am excited to try other things on the menu next time.

I aksed and paid for sour cream. No sour cream
    Jenny P.

I asked and paid for sour cream. I ate half way through the burrito hoping i would get in the next bite .. over all burrito was good and flavorful just wish they didn't forget my sour cream.

Santee Roberto's most delicious beef rolled tacos!

They had a strong start when they opened, but we've had bad tortillas, poor service, and inconsistent quality.

This place is by our house and is consistently good, has similar prices to other taco shops, and the staff are friendly.

Good food and fast service! Not much for ambiance, just a typical typical Taco shop. Thought their salsas were sub par.

Let me explain: -I parked at this…read morestrip mall to adjust my phone settings -I was 5 minutes away from home -I had plans to whip up an Italian dinner As I was peeling off the parking lot, the glow of Sayulitas signage enticed me like a Vegas boxing match. I re-parked my car and entered the 'arena' and committed to stay for one bout. The woman behind the register had the calm of someone who's seen every kind of hunger. "What's the Filipino favorite on the menu?" I asked. She didn't blink. "Pac Man Burrito." Just two nights ago, I was cheering the Pacquiao-led team on Netflix's Physical: Asia. Tonight, I find myself face to face with a champion $21.99 burrito aptly named after him, or at least his nickname. It arrived cleaved in half on a plate. Probably so that it won't look as intimidating, but both halves looked like a pair of white boxing gloves! Que horror! I had to manhandle the thing and squeeze it like a cheap date just to get my mouth around it. First real bite and bam...Tocino! That sweet, cured pork punching straight through the Mexican chorus line. I was maybe an eighth of the way in when the 'referee' behind the register asked "How's the burrito?" "I'm struggling" I said, salsa dripping on my chin. "This thing's got stamina." She nodded like she'd heard it before, and by the time I came back from the salsa vault with pico de gallo and Chile de Arbol refills, a to-go box was already waiting on the table like an exit strategy. Tortilla chips sat in small paper bags under a heat lamp. Every bite was warm, crisp and crunchy. I love their stainless steel salsa vault. No dusty air, no door-breeze contamination. Smart. The trash bin was stainless steel too with no leftover remnants or soda syrup splatter. Places that care about chips and salsa care about everything. I boxed the remains - half a burrito then called my nephew on the way to the car. "You eat yet?" "Nah." "Good. I'm bringing home a champion."

Overall…read moreit's a solid location for filipino fusion burritos - all their burritos are HUGE and can definitely last 2 meals. Their salsas are also veryyyy spicy which I wish they weren't. I think the least spicy salsa they have is either the pico de gallo or the chipotle, both of which are still decently spicy. They give you a few salsa cups for the salsa bar, but if you're eating in they also have salsa squeeze bottles in the fridge that you're free to use. As for their burritos I always get them cut in half to share them with my fiance. I enjoyed their breakfast burrito but I wish they put hashbrowns in them. Their tocino burrito is also good, but I somehow always end up getting the half that has way too much sour cream. We're not a fan of fries in burritos so we got it on the side and preferred it that way much more. The sausage is really good and flavorful, but the burrito as a whole is just too rich for me. This is however my fiance's favorite burrito spot.
