The food is always hot and freshly made. Have found the employees to be very courteous and nice. A great option late at night when the other fast food shops are closed up. One complaint? The cost. It is always a higher tab than a trip to Wendy's or McDonald's. But what are you going to do, late at night? The location is an older unit located along one of Grass Valley's main drags, East Main Street. The drive thru is a little more curvy and sloped than is typical so pay attention in the line when maneuvering your vehicle. Reading all of these recent reviews, I'm extremely grateful that our experience was the complete opposite. We made a pitstop at this Jack in the Box location for lunch on our way back home from Tahoe. We all placed individual mobile orders while parked out in their lot, and upon walking in, they let us know they would be right with us and asked if we were the big group of mobile orders that just came in (definitely on top of their game!). The inside was virtually empty when we arrived, but all the tables were pretty clean. We sat down, and our orders were ready very shortly afterwards. Everything in there was made correctly, and all requested condiments were included. All of the employees we met were friendly. However at one point in our meal, we did hear one of the employees shouting about how she wasn't going to keep working past her shift if she wasn't going to get paid for it. We went through the Main St Grass Valley location at 8pm on June 2. In the drive-through, an angelic voice took our order. It was a big order. We pulled forward. This beautiful goddess takes our card so we can pay - she deserved to keep the card forever. A mysterious man was working in the background. When we got our food, the next four minutes were the best in my life. Sanwich? Perfectly crispy. Fries? Not even the same fries as I ordered, but that's fine. She knew I didn't need onion fries; what my soul hungered for was the god-given, divinely-inspired straight fries. I have never had fries so well-seasoned, nor so warm and crispy. I almost cried. I came here around 1 AM after getting off of the night shift to pick up a couple milkshakes for myself and a colleague. For absolutely no reason, the only teenager working in the drive-through window said "you must be drunk, huh?" And then started sarcastically laughing. He then said "you better not get pulled over" and started singing the "bad boy, bad boy, what you gonna do when they come for you " song as I drove away from his horribly depressing night shift. This was at 1 AM on February 11th. The employee's name is Anthony. I've never seen such unprofessionalism even from a high school teenager at a Jack-in-the-Box drive thru in the middle of the night. I don't eat fast food very often, but I came here earlier in the week for a quick lunch and as the the service was somewhat acceptable, the tacos were near perfect. So I guess I will add a star for the daytime cooks. Tonight (10/8/23 around 9:00pm), my family and I were busy and didn't have time to make dinner, so we came here. The guy that took my order was extremely distracted while taking my order because he was staring at his cellphone, which led to him ordering us jr bacon cheeseburgers instead of jr jumbo jacks. Whatever, I can deal with the mistake, as well as his poor customer service. But when the service and the food is bad, it really ruins your meal time. The jr bacon cheeseburgers had so much sauce, it was disgusting. The tacos were the most greasiest I've ever had at Jack and had just a slimy piece of lettuce and no cheese and no sauce. And they didn't have French fries! Thanks for reminding me why I don't eat at these places. Will not be back for a very very long time, if ever. Don't recommend going here at night. Honestly, if people knew from whose hands they eat and in the condition where the food is cooked here mainly morning shifts this place would be closed , I think they would not have sales. Since the hygiene is super bad and this comment comes from someone who is currently working here, I'm already fed up with how some employees are treated because there is a lot of preferences, and is more than enough to mention that gloves are only used when there is good supervision, which almost never happens, including that the Manager doesn't really care how the restaurant is unless it is known that there is going to be an inspection. read more

I tired to stay away from bashing jack in the box on yelp by reaching out to their customer service team online due to no response here I am. This past Saturday I ordered 2 jr bacon cheeseburgers, a chicken sandwich munchie meal and some fries and a drink. My total came out to 27$ and when I got home my whole order was wrong. If you ever come to this Jack in the box just keep in mind that ordering a cheese burger might be a little too much for these idiots. Keep it simple if you come here, only Order fries and a drink if you want to get what you actually ordered. I've never been so mad in my Life at a fast food place and I promise I will never ever go to a jack in the box again. I literally didn't have the burger Patty on two of my burgers it was just buns, ketchup, and bacon. And my chicken sandwich had a chicken patty, cheese, fish patty, cheese, and then another chicken patty. Disgusting... all the main orders were slaughtered fully to the point of only being able to eat my fries for 27$. Thank you jack in the box for absolutely sucking. Went to the drive-through last night, ordered 6 hamburger patties. When we drove up to the window, the supervisor, Samantha, screamed at us for 5 minutes straight because the employee working the drive-through input the information correctly. I paid the balance that I was told was due, but was told that the restaurant was losing money on me and that I was apparently going to single-handedly bankrupt Jack in the Box. She informed me that in the future I should only order 2 hamburgers, *MAYBE* 3; otherwise they would be compelled to shut down. Let's get one thing straight. Under no circumstances, is it appropriate for fast food employees to be aggressive and confrontational towards unsuspecting customers. I don't frown on anyone on a basis of their career, but you've got to realize, Samantha, your managerial position at a fast food restaurant, does not impress me. It gives you supervisory credibility with your subordinates and gives you the right to be a contentious shrew towards them. You are not entitled to scream at a customer for, "over-ordering." I don't have a weight problem, my order isn't going to put Jack in the Box out of business *NEARLY* as efficiently as your personality and general demeanor and if you feel the need to, "cut me off," then going forward, I will go to a burger joint that allows me to eat all the hamburgers that I want and pay for. Their food is about as good as Jack in the Box can get, but this location's commitment to their hours is shaky at best. The lobby is closed, which is fine, but periodically they have a trash can blocking the drive through that stops people from entering, despite the fact that this location says it's open 24 hours and there are employees visibly inside. I watched multiple cars pull through the parking lot, pause, and then flip a u-turn into the Burger King next door. I'll probably be doing the same. This place is your typical fast food stop, nothing more, nothing less. The attitude of the staff show that they don't really care to be at work. Nor do they care about how your food tastes. I had a few value menu items, some decent, others not so much. It's not too hard to get in here and back out to the fwy so they do have that going for them. Being that most of the staff will probably not be working here next time I'm passing through I may still stop for a quick bite if I'm in a pinch. One thing to note was that the dining room was noticeably dirty, I had to look for a clean table, they weren't very busy so someone was obviously slacking off on their duties. read more
