On this visit, however, Genaro was our server, and he was just as friendly, attentive, and funny. He made our lunch even more enjoyable. My friends hadn't been here in a while, but we all left happy with our meals. We each ordered one of the lunch specials: the taco & enchilada combo, the chile relleno, and the tamale & taco combo. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I also like taking advantage of their drink specials, and my family never skips their delicious cheese crispy appetizer--it's always a favorite! At what point do law enforcement, the Fire Marshal, or another local authority need to step in and address what is happening at this Taco Bell? If there is an actual emergency at nearby businesses, police, fire or ambulance won't be able to respond because of this chaotic traffic jam their drive thru is causing. It's like a game to this staff, it's like they're trying to do this for fun. I'm sure they're not doing this on purpose but on the other side of the coin, read all of their recent reviews, it sure looks like a game to them. On the evening of October 1, 2026, I spent approximately two hours trapped in the drive-thru at the Fernley Taco Bell. I understand that 8:00 p.m. is part of the dinner rush, so I expected some delay. What I did not expect was a situation that became so disorganized that, in my opinion, it created an actual public-safety hazard. When I finally reached the speaker, I was told that the restaurant was not accepting cash or card payments and that customers could only order through the Taco Bell mobile app or DoorDash. There was no sign or warning before entering the drive-thru explaining this. A simple sign stating, "Mobile and DoorDash orders only -- no cash or card payments currently accepted," could have prevented much of what happened. Instead, customers continued entering a drive-thru they effectively could not use, and once inside, there was no practical way to leave. The backup became enormous. At one point, the line extended toward AutoZone, while a second line formed across the street into the Grocery Outlet parking lot. Cars were blocking the street completely. The two lines essentially formed a "Y," with drivers competing to merge into the same drive-thru. What a nightmare. During the roughly two hours I was stuck there, I personally counted at least four near-collisions behind me, cars honking and witnessed one road-rage confrontation where the 2 lines merged into 1. Traffic flow was being blocked, people were trying to get out, but blocked by other impatient people protecting their spot, drivers were becoming increasingly frustrated, and customers who finally reached the speaker were furious when they learned that normal payment methods were not being accepted. Several people were yelling profanities at the employees. I actually felt bad for the employees dealing with that situation. If employees truly are not permitted to put up a temporary sign warning customers, then management or corporate policy needs to change immediately. If they simply chose not to warn customers, that is even more concerning. Either way, the result was the same: a restaurant's drive-thru problem spilled into surrounding traffic and created what appeared to me to be a legitimate safety issue. I will also accept responsibility for staying in line after realizing something was obviously wrong. I had just finished a stressful day at work, really wanted a Mexican Pizza, and kept thinking the line would eventually start moving. That was my mistake. Unfortunately, this was not my first strange experience at this location. A few months earlier, I went there for breakfast and the employee at the speaker politely told me, essentially, that she was not ready for a customer and suggested I go to Burger King instead. She was polite about it, but the situation was so unusual that I remembered it. After what happened on October 1, however, this has gone beyond simply being poor customer service. When a drive-thru backup is interfering with surrounding traffic, drivers are nearly colliding, road-rage incidents are occurring, and customers are effectively trapped for extremely long periods of time before learning they cannot even purchase food normally, someone needs to address the operation of this location. Read the other reviews and decide for yourself. There appears to be a long-running customer-service problem at this location, and after what I witnessed on October 1, I believe it has reached the point where management, Taco Bell corporate, and potentially local authorities should determine whether changes are necessary to prevent another dangerous traffic situation. Their customer service is so bad that at this point it is an ongoing public safety issue. Somebody is going to get hurt or killed from this one day if no changes are made. Pedestrians walking by have to zig-zag around a bunch of cars carefully trying not to get hit. Cars are playing chicken with each other. This mess was embarrassing. After this experience, I will not be returning to any taco bell ever again in life over this level of carelessness and incompetence. So as much as it physically pains me to go inside (and I mean literally physically ), I decided to go in because I needed to be on my way and couldn't afford to sit behind five cars in the drive-thru. When I went inside and Amber acknowledged me right away while she was finishing up bagging some drive-thru orders. She came over, took my order, and even offered me multiple sauces for my nuggets and cheesy fries. She also let me know there would be a short wait as she handed me my cup. A few minutes later, my order was ready and I was on my way -- actually about 10 minutes before my next appointment! Amber was welcoming, pleasant and calm, and I really appreciated the good customer service. When I asked the waitress about it, she replied, "Yeah, they throw everything in there--sorry." If that's how the taco salad is prepared, it should be disclosed on the menu. We also ordered a ribeye and another steak. While this isn't a steakhouse, the cuts were decent for this type of restaurant. Since I already had a discount, my concern wasn't the cost or a refund--it was the responsibility to let customers know what they're being served. Unfortunately, the salad ruined my appetite. We later returned and had a much better experience. Abbi and Cassandra were pleasant, and Deven provided excellent service. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, he remained calm, attentive, and apologetic about even minor delays. We also enjoyed the house-made soup and tried the September specials. My late parents always told me that some of the best food comes out of the casinos. This takes me to the city of Fernley, NV (about 30 minutes east of Reno) where I had the opportunity in trying out "Ranch House Restaurant". This restaurant is adjacent to the "Silverado Casino" which is only a small handful of operating casinos in the Fernley area. We were both very hungry as we ventured through South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and Virginia City, our appetite grew as the evening went on. After checking into our nearby hotel (which was luckily 1/3 mile from here) and getting washed up, we made it to the restaurant at around 7:15pm on Friday 6/19/2026. Upon entry, the interior layout looks straight out of the 1970's complete with posh booth seating, wood panels, and brick walls in a very spacious dining area. This is quite reminiscent of the old school casino restaurants in the more prominent Reno casino restaurants; mainly Silver Legacy and Nugget. Once seated, we were given two menus and requested an iced water (for myself) and a Diet Coke (for her). One minor drawback which could be a make it or break it for many is that the internal temperature of this restaurant was quite cold. My guess is that it was only around 66°F so if you plan to dine-in, come dressed accordingly! I will say that the menu is quite extensive with ton of options to choose from. This includes appetizers, all-day breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and a lot of excellent entrée choices. After making my way through the entire menu of options, I settled with the "Grilled Salmon" entrée (priced at $18.99). This consisted of a house salad, a 6 oz. filet drizzled with balsamic glaze, steamed veggies (mainly zucchini and squash), and I opted for a baked potato (that came with butter & sour cream). She chose their "Old Fashioned Cheeseburger" (priced at $12.99) which came with lettuce, tomato, pickle, & onion on a brioche bun. She opted for cheddar as her choice of cheese and the burger came with a side of seasoned steak fries. Total time took roughly 15 minutes from when we placed our orders to when we received our food. I will say this; the food here is quite delicious. My salmon was a very thick cut and at less than $20 for a salad and full entrée, you absolutely get your moneys worth. The veggies had excellent texture while my baked potato was piping hot. This isn't a 5-star dining experience with a very no-frills atmosphere but it is your above average casino food that is eerily similar to other restaurants that are adjacent to casinos that I've dined at over the decades. Our waitress, Cassandra was very polite and professional while the ambiance, price, and food was definitely above average. My rating for "Ranch House Restaurant" in Fernley, NV is a respectable four stars.

I also find it frustrating to receive different responses from staff and to have takeout packaging vary from one visit to the next. I almost always order the same thing because they truly have the best taco salad. When I order it to go, I always request extra salsa and sour cream. However, the experience seems to vary each time--sometimes I receive pico de gallo, sometimes salsa, and sometimes neither of the items I asked for. I've also noticed that ordering late in the evening usually goes smoothly. The morning, afternoon, and early evening shifts seem to be where the experience is less consistent. At times, I hesitate before placing an order because I wonder whether it will be worth dealing with missing items again. It may seem like a small issue, but when it happens repeatedly, it becomes frustrating. Consistency matters, especially for loyal customers. I hope management can address these issues so every guest receives the same level of service, regardless of the time of day. On this particular night, Rogelio was very helpful in assisting the new cashier/server, Sydney. I also appreciate Sophie, who stepped in towards the end and helped keep things running smoothly. They were burnt, and the bell peppers and onions were either black or raw. The huckleberry lemoned was amazing and my waiter was really friendly.
