I just expected that even a small order would be made with the same care as everything else. Did I need the fries? Probably not. On September 13 at around 3:10 AM, we stopped at the Jack in the Box located at 2461 Jamacha Rd, El Cajon, CA 92019, and unfortunately had an extremely disappointing experience. We pulled up to the drive-thru speaker and waited for about 5 minutes. Nobody greeted us, nobody asked us to wait, and nobody responded at all. We honestly weren't even sure if anyone was working inside. After receiving absolutely no response, we drove up to the window and waited for approximately another 5 minutes. We could see that there was an employee inside, so we eventually knocked on the window simply to get someone's attention. A female employee finally came to the window, but instead of apologizing for the wait or asking how she could help us, she immediately told us in a very rude and disrespectful manner that we had no right to knock on the window. We never got her name. At that point, after waiting around 10 minutes and then being spoken to that way, we decided to leave without ordering anything. What made this experience even more disappointing was what happened next. We drove to the Jack in the Box at 10255 Campo Rd, Spring Valley, CA 91978, and arrived at approximately 3:30 AM. The difference in service was incredible. We were greeted at the speaker immediately. Louis took our order and was extremely friendly, polite, professional, and fast. Our food was prepared quickly, everything tasted great, and his positive attitude completely changed our mood after the experience at the previous location. This shows what a huge difference one good employee can make. Thank you, Louis, for treating customers with respect and providing excellent service, especially at 3:30 in the morning. Story time: I had paid for a catering order for work to be picked up from a restaurant (not this) at 4am in the morning and when I showed up, they didn't have anything ready at all which was very disappointing. I went there early on a Sunday morning and Paula, the manager was took my order, and saw me at the window. I ordered a Breakfast Jack and a combo with a coffee. Usually I would have a sandwich missing but she got it all in there and also asked if I needed ketchup. She was super polite. When I had to go back to order 6 more Breakfast Jacks with hash browns for my family she still had everything down perfect with a good amount of napkins and didn't fail to ask if I needed any sauces. By that time there was a line of cars. I could see her communicating to her team and looking at the charts that were put on the walls. She had patience enough to be polite to me as well. We had a coupon for a buttery jack Portabella mushroom and we were in the area so we stopped in and we are so glad you did! My kids ordered the buttery jack with garlic herb butter bacon Swiss and it was amazing! What really surprised me was the juicy meat! My one son is super picky about burgers and usually doesn't eat them but that was not the case tonight! We ate in and out cheeseburger today which I love but now for fast food this is THE new favorite fast food burger! Usually when I have the kick for a fast food fix, I hit up a Jack In a Box that is close to home or on my way to work or home. I decided on this location since it is about 4 minutes away from my home which makes sense. When I arrived I was greeted by a pair of enthusiastic employees. I was in the mood for a burger so I ordered the deli trio grilled sandwich. The sandwich came with Genoa salami, sliced ham, roasted turkey, Provolone cheese and pickle filets with a creamy Italian dressing on grilled artisan bread, but I told them to hold the dressing. I got the combo so I had fries and a diet coke as well. The fries and sandwich came pipping hot and the bread of the sandwich was nicely grilled on the out side which delivered a nice crunch. May 2022: My food was dry, gave them the benefit of the doubt just because it wasn't my first time eating there... then ended up getting food poisoning. Fast forward a couple months later with severe stomach pain. in and out of the ER i was told i had H. pylori bacterial infection, which can escalate and lead to stomach ulcers and a main cause of stomach cancer. And this all started after I ate that food. This is disgusting. That's assembly chain blue-chip quality at its finest. I took off a star for only one reason and it's really not their fault. This location is super popular so try to avoid it at the more obvious times like rush hour or dinner. Despite the speed from the point of ordering to the point of getting your food - the wait time is really most affected by the number of cars ahead of you. What can I say...This was an ordinary Jack-in-the-crack. I got my usual chicken breast pieces with stuffed jalapenos instead of fries. I was the only one in the drive through, which ended up being a blessing because my dog jumped out of my window and I had to back up to be able to open my door and get him back in the truck. I am a regular customer at this Jack-in-the-Box location as I get off of work late at night usually from the casino. I usually have a good experience the staff are friendly and the service is quick. This time around I went through the Jack-in-the-Box drive-through at this location around 12 AM which is usual for my Saturday nights after work and ordered a cheeseburger and a shake, trying to get home quickly as I was tired I didn't think to check my bag as I know there was only going to be the burger so I set it in the seat and drove off. When I got home and opened my bag I found what looked like used napkins and an unused unwrapped tampon sitting on top of my burger. Needless to say I lost my appetite and was in disbelief as I spend quite a bit of money here and would never have thought to be treated like this. I called the restaurant to just let the manager know( who which gave me my bag by the way) and told him the situation and was basically told he didn't care, he was too busy and then hung up. I don't want a refund, I make enough money to not care about the 5$ I spent, it's not worth my gas money to go back. I want the person who was responsible for this to get help because this is just disgusting and I am horrified and will NEVER be coming back to this establishment.
