Bahamas Surgery Center was exceptionally clean, well staffed, and well organized. My care from the front door to the nurses (Judy and Drew) to the anestesia provider ( Dan) and of course my physician (Merriman) provided the absolute best care.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Easily one of the worst doctors we've had a consult with in years. We…read morewere dealing with a serious issue waiting on his consult since he was on call. He couldn't have been less personable, void of any personality and bedside manner, and appeared to be in a rush to leave (we were waiting days for his consult). He spent about 3 min with us, which would have been about 30seconds if we didn't begin asking him questions, and his advice was "see a doctor after you get discharged'. Really? He never offered a gameplan, he lied on the consult about 'discussing findings' (he didn't discuss anything, he basically just said 'go see a doctor'). He also had misinformation in the consult that we disputed in which the hospitalist agreed with our dispute. There seems to be a trend of him getting things wrong according to the reviews, and he seems to have a bias towards disabled patients. He never offered to schedule us post-discharge and kept trying to pass the buck to find another doctor. Hopefully you aren't as unlucky to get stuck with this guy. We've dealt with many specialists and he was among the absolute worst. Hospitalist helped us get in touch with a new specialist and already have next steps planned for a procedure which he said he recommends we get done, something Dr. Youngstrom didn't even discuss. Dr. Youngstrom, I feel sorry for anyone who gets stuck with your ass. We're lucky as hell we didn't get stuck with you.

The appointment person gave me the runaround and told me that they didn't receive my authorization even after calling a confirming that my authorization was sent twice. I talk to Donna the office manager after 2 weeks of trying to make an appointment. Donna tried telling me that the doctor needed to review my medical history to see if he will accept me as a patient. She said that every doctor's office does this. After telling Donna that it's not true, my wife runs 3 medical offices. Donna then said "well do you want to make an appointment"? Nope. If staff and management is this ignorant and thinks patients aren't important I'm good. Waste of my time.

I went to establish care in California since I was in Washington for my interstitial cystitis which…read moreI have had for 6 years now and when he put the camera in my urethra which hurt me since I'm so sensitive down there he looked me dead in my face and said I don't have the disease I'm on social security for and have also been suffering with for 5 years at that point which made me feel crazy and still have been looking for a urogynecologist that will take my insurance what a nightmare man. These doctors are here for one thing and that's the money if I could give him 0 stars I would. As a sexual assault survivor and someone who has been chronically ill almost my whole life this was disappointing and heartbreaking. Please don't go here if you wanna be dissapointed

Never in my life have I met any man with more of a God complex. I went to three appointments( one…read moreexam and two testing dates) on the third visit I asked for my test results which the dr admitted needed to be printed out but I needed to return for a fourth visit since he did not do teledoc. Mind you you, I am on oxygen 24/7 w immunosuppressive disease resulting in disability. By my third vist(2nd) test day). I was told I needed to come back to get my results. I came back to find no one in the office wearing a face mask and absolute refusal to give me copies of my testing. I was told I have to fill out form, which I did, but again was told it would take 7-10 days to get the hard copies of my test results. I explained that I thought I was there specifically to get hard copy and results of my tests. I had just been there the week prior for last tests. When dr came in he was already clearly angry. He said it was his right and choice to not wear mask. If I did not like it I could just leave. Mind you I am still w my oxygen tank and am wearing a mask and plastic face shield. I explained that although staff may not wear mask that he had a duty to do no harm. I explained I felt uncomfortable being there with no one wearing face masks, not even him. I explained that every other dr in town wore face masks , even the veterinary office had curbside service to serve those like me with auto immune issues. I explained that in northern Ca my daughters dr wore mask and face shield , like me , saying that new COVID variants are highly contagious. He again reiterated that it was his personal choice and I could just leave. I explained that I was already there and needed my tests results. He agreed to give me a one page sheet w notes he wrote as we spoke. He never gave me my written documents Testing diagnostics despite My advising I needed them for an out of town (UCLA) appointment the next week. He said it was his practice and I had to go through records department and wait 7-10 days. He said there were no mask mandates. What he failed to mention was that the CDC still recommended masks in medical settings. Never did this man ever express ANY concern for my feelings and very valid concerns. He just told me I could leave and refused to give me diagnostic reports as promised the week prior and one of the reasons for this visit. He told staff to give me form to fill out for my copies. I had already done that. Luckily one of the staff took pity on me and called records department to explain the situation. Upon my return home, I received a call from records department personnel who said she would personally deliver my requested records the next business day. She just kept asking what I needed and promised I would be able to pick them up the next business day. The whole ploy, I feel, by this dr is to charge another visit by having me come back to get results of my testing and supposedly my test results. Then , I believe he just got mad and refused to give me anything really. Never have I seen a dr so vindictive and uncaring. Clearly his duty to do no harm to his patients is usurped by his own personal rights and choices. I don't know how good of a dr he is but I would not go back to any dr who did not care about his patients feelings. His actions tell me that God forbid he made a mistake, he would never own up to it and he would not care about any poor results or problems. This is a man who appears to care more about money than medicine as he kept referring to business policy rather than medical duty. I am off to UCLA instead. Funny how in Northern and southern CA I don't experience these same issues as here in the San Joaquin Valley in general.
