I came here around 9pm on a Saturday with a friend of mine and there was a long wait as expected, but I was thoroughly impressed by the customer service at this location. We weren't expecting to be seated right away since it was a busy night, but the staff came around with appetizers and offered them to people waiting in the foyer. After waiting around 30 minutes, our party of two still weren't seated but we didn't make a fuss about it since we knew it was busy. One of the staff members, i'm not even sure if he was a host or a server, saw that we were still waiting and asked us if had been called yet. We told him no, and he said he would get us a table right away. Shortly after, we were seated. The food itself was as expected of any Jack Astors. I ordered a cocktail that was too strong and sweet for my liking, so after one sip, I left it to the side. Our server was friendly and always came by to check on us. At the end of the dinner when we were about to pay, he asked me if I liked my drink and I told him I didn't but that was because I wasn't too fond of sweet drinks but that it was okay. He insisted that he take it off my bill even after I argued that I would pay for it since I had chosen to order it. We did not expect to be treated with such hospitality so upon leaving, I made a note to give this location a review based on the wonderful customer service I had received. read more

I have been to Jack Astor's [Brampton] numerous times over the last few years. Each and every experience has been pleasant - with the exception of my most recent attendance: Throughout our time, we did not receive any service. We had to ask the bartender to send a waitress to take our order, two servers "forgot" to bring us our drink order of water before a third finally brought two glasses to the table, and we had to ask the hostess to send a waitress to our table when we were ready to pay. When we proceeded to tell the manager of the terrible service, she refused to acknowledge a single complaint and instead, dismissed every claim. She showed no interest in our experience and refused to provide her name and told us to take a business card instead. When we went to retrieve the business card from the hostess, the same "manager" asked us to leave the restaurant. Oh, not before telling the waitresses that we had made a racial remark, which I assure you, we did not. A waitress proceeded to yell at us in front of restaurant patrons, accusing us of "speaking about color" (her words not mine). We left incredibly confused and angry, as we did not make a single racial remark to anybody in the restaurant. I am a woman of color myself - to BLATANTLY LIE about a serious issue in an effort to deflect from her inability to do her job is absolutely revolting. I will never come back to this location. This location is just like every other Jack Astor's with one key difference: on Thursday night's IF you ask them "Do you do half price appetizers tonight?" they have to say yes. You can only get this deal if you ask though. They use to offer it and then took it away but will honour the deal for people that come in and ask for it. Tonight's dinner was "shanghai lettuce wraps" for less than $5 and the person I was with had wings (which also fall under the half price appetizer deal). They have a nice patio for the summer. A classy joint? Definitely not. But it is predictable, and you've got to laugh at tackiness of servers scrawling their names and times they visited your table all over your brown paper table clothe. read more

So Jack's is one of my fav chain restaurants with and without kids... went there for dinner today with family. Girls in the front ( greeters) were actually MaD to see us... why more guests! No hello no smile.... frown is what welcomed us! Then we requested for a table for 5.. had a senior citizen with us... I requested for a booth... was told no available when i could see 3 of them free. When i inquired abt the booth was told service is slow there and we wont service until all 3 booths are seated! NEVER heard of that.. anywyas finally we left as we couldnt sit on a high top.. no one even tried to accommodate us.. very very very poor service. Highly disappointed. Went there the other day with my boyfriend! Restaurant is huge and well spaced out. I didn't feel isolated! Friendly welcoming staff. I had a BBQ burger with the new poutine with smoked meat! Very delicious. Wait time for food was a little long. But the overall experience was enjoyable read more

Love this Jack Astor's. I've been coming here for years. Good drinks and delicious food. I like coming for lunch for the parmesan chicken bowties or after work for a pitcher or girly drinks. Their desserts are delicious too. Not the biggest fan of their burgers though, a little bland. My go-to when getting drinks and a bite to eat with friends. It's a great atmosphere for get togethers. Casual or a little dressy, either one suits this place. $$ - $$$ depending on how many drinks heehee. read more

Went on a Saturday evening, the place was almost full but the hostess was able to identify an open booth. Service was prompt and the waiting staff was efficient and friendly. Shoutout to Donte who was exceptional in carrying out his tasks and periodically checking in to ensure that everything was to my liking. The food was excellent and the atmosphere satisfactory. Of note was the "my cookie ate your brownie" which I had with French vanilla ice cream, simply delicious. read more

I love coming here and I've never had a bad experience at this location. The outdoor seating is not as nice as other locations but usually eat inside anyways. I go here for the burgers really. They have a vegetarian burger that is great, sometimes I order that even though I'm not vegetarian but usually I get beef. I would avoid getting the gluten free bun though, that is a disaster. I came here to have a birthdsy party for my little brother who turned 16. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They let me set up decorations and put the cake in the fridge for me. Ate here with a friend and to watch the Raptors vs Warriors game. There weren't many spaces left so my friend and I sat in a booth side by side. Sitting side by side while trying to watch a game and converse is very straining on the neck, fyi. We ordered sweet potato fries, and a chicken pizza. Both items were to Jack Astor franchise standards. The waiter was nice and there when we needed them and didn't bug us after ordered. Overall, good experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for decent priced and quality tasting food. I wish they changed the Raptors game to the big screen sooner though! read more

I have been to this restaurant a couple times (West Dr and Sq 1 location) I do enjoy the food and the ambiance of the place, however I cannot go into Jack Astors without my earplugs. The music is quite loud and it's near impossible to have any conversation with anyone at the table. It's been twice now (at West Dr) my order has been prepared wrong, I'm not sure if the kitchen didn't make what I wanted or if it was because the server could not hear me correctly. Overall the food is good (when you get what you ordered) and plus, who doesn't like doodling on the table! read more

I absolutely HATE this place, I HATE it, I've been twice and I always get bad food, I think the servers take too long to bring the food to the customers, I can see it sitting there for awhile and my server is just chit chatting with her co workers and I'm just starring at her and I ask her over and suggest to her "Oh, is that mine over there ? I hope so !" and she says no, and doesn't even bother to check and goes back to chit chatting with her friend. Which was frustrating for me, because 15 minutes later she brings the plate I was eye balling and she says "OH, you were right it was yours !" and now my food is cold and icky, thanks. It gets worse ! one of the female servers starts to flirt with my friends boyfriend while she's in the washroom. I was shocked, it took me a moment to register what was happening. I understand why the men come here, yeah the girls are pretty but they lack service and common courtesy. Was there last week for a Birthday party of 10 couples. Planned in advance, and everyone was excited. Server also did not allow us to order 12 shots for a group of 20 people, And then went on to say not to ask her again. She was consistently rude and confrontational with all of our guest. Approached a manager, he acknowledged the server was at fault but did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. Half way into our dinner we asked for the bill and paid for everything including food that was not yet ready. Management is horrible! They will never receive our business again. Service is inconsistent. First time was great. Last time I visited, hostess was great to greet us and seat us at a fairly small table. We had a table of 13 which we've reserved for, but we had to stand at the bar to wait for our table to fit our 13 guests; which took 15 minutes. Once seated, we were waiting for our non-alcoholic beverages for 20 minutes, took an additional 45 to actually order our food, took another 40 minutes to get our meals(where some meals came out cold), and when we were ready to pay, the server was no where to be found. No dinner should take more than 2 hours..... Yes we had a large group but it was not busy at all. Personally for any birthday celebrations in a large group, I won't recommend JA to any of my family or friends. read more

This location is usually a complete hit or a complete miss. I've come to this location for years and sometimes I have a really great experience and sometimes just a plain waste of my time and money. My advice is to not come even 2 hours before closing because the servers and kitchen staff slack off. My most recent experience, I went to order nachos and compared to the last time I ordered the same nachos (which was a week before) it was complete waste of money. How do you not put jalapeños on nachos that clearly states come with the nachos on your menu? Just a small example of what I mean when I say they don't care after a certain time. They also need to improve on their service, even when the restaurant isn't too busy it's still slow service. read more

Have been drinking and dining at this location (and others ) since it opened. Enough is enough. Quality of food and service has gone down as quickly as prices have sky-rocketed. Having dined here on 22 Mar we had a standing date with friends at the 401/Winston Churchill location the next day. Again the service was slow and inattentive and my own food disappointing. Cutting up a dried out grilled chicken breast and putting it in sauce beside dried up rice does not make a quality curry. Did anyone ask how our food was? Nope! SIR corp has lost their way. From the greeting of the hostess out front to the friendly staff inside it was a great experience. I really wasn't expecting much as it was a very young crowd - both the staff and clientele - and it was rather busy for a Sunday eve after 8pm. They were great - every one of them. Jack Astors has been and will continue to be one of my go to's for an easy lunch. I enjoy the easy atmosphere with a fun twist. Friday & Saturday nights can get extremely hectic so because of this I stay away from there. Just turns into a "not so my scene" anymore. The decor isn't worth a 45 minute wait. However, the food is always nice.The menu is diverse in a "something for everyone" type of way. The wait staff seem very cliquey. Always smiling at tables, never with anyone they work with. If I could provide a 0 star review I would, however I must award 1 shameful star, I guess for the food as it was not bad. I don't know if it's the squalid city of Brampton, and that the restaurant is plagued by it's location but the service of this restaurant is horrendous. Upon arriving we had to essentially beg to sit at a table to be able to view a TV showing the Leafs game. They were hesitant to sit us behind the hosting area, as we saw only a couple of booths filled and all tables were empty. Other patrons asked as well to sit there and they were told that "they have to check". They then seated us at the very first table right behind the hosting area where we could be greeted by a nice cold fall breeze anytime an unsuspecting group of travelers decided to happen upon the place. It seemed like they didn't want to seat at any of those tables out of laziness of not wanting to get them dirty. Our server showed up 15 minutes after being seated, and we placed our full order (group of 4). We did not receive any of our order for another 15 minutes after that, and they were the beer boxes. Then 5 minutes or more later the waters came. Unacceptable service, recalcitrant staffing, and the worst experience out of a Jack Astor's I've ever had. I know nobody at that restaurant cares, but I'll never be going back there. Side note: I also overheard multiple guests ask the hosts why they weren't allowed to sit in the absolutely desolate area, and they were placed elsewhere, except one family who were seated directly beside us in a booth.
