Every morning when we walk in, we're greeted by name with warm smiles, they make both of us feel seen and cared for. All of teachers and front office staff are so kind, patient and genuinely loving. They don't just take care of my son; they nurture him, encourage him, and celebrate all the little milestones that mean so much. He's grown so much since starting here, more confident, more social and so happy. Seeing him run into his classroom excited and comfortable fills my heart with so much peace. I can tell they truly care about him and even about me as a mom navigating this new chapter. I am beyond grateful for everyone at Children's Village for creating such a loving, safe, and welcoming place for my little boy to learn and grow. He just graduated and I feel so grateful that we found this school for my son. Miss Katie and Lisa in the "Wise Owls" or 4-5 year old class have been there for as long as my son went there. I would not recommend this facility for child care…read more The majority of the staff don't seem to enjoy children --there is no sense that the teachers actually enjoy children. We found the staff to be rather rigid in their teaching & discipline styles. They don't seem to be able to adapt to a specific child's needs. They are frequently understaffed. Always sending out messages to get parents to "volunteer" to skip school/pick up the kids after they've been dropped off. They offer you "credit" if you do this, but the "credit" is significantly less than their daily rate...so essentially you are paying them so you can watch your own kid?!? And if they don't get enough volunteer pick ups, they'll just close classrooms, meaning you can't come to school/you have to pick up your kid after drop off AND you don't get any compensation at all--you are paying them full price so that you can watch your own child. Heaven help you if your kiddo ends up in a class with one of the director's / teacher's kids. They let those kids run wild and pretty much run the classroom. The directors clearly favor a couple staff members over others. That whole situation is super awkward to be peripherally involved in and observe. It reminds me of mean girls in high school...so awkward and not something to appreciate having to see when I'm paying this much for allegedly professional care givers. The cost of enrollment is astonishingly high, even compared to other facilities. They don't do anything there to justify a higher price point--they don't have better staffing ratios, don't offer more activities or provide better food. On top of that, you are expected to help cater a seemingly endless number of meals for teacher appreciation. The formal "teacher appreciation week" consisted of several breakfasts and lunches and the food requests were bizarrely specific. There are several more times throughout the year that you are expected to help cater meals for staff. Overall, I felt that this facility treats the kids as economic units. Their priority is making money, that's it. The facility is clean. Sometimes they have good teachers, but usually the good ones leave within ~12 mos, likely due to the toxic environment. I have heard from others that the care is better for the babies (like up to 18 mos or so). I don't have experience with that at Goddard.

I do not have…read morechildren who attend this school, just a witness to some shocking behavior by the teachers that I feel parents should know when considering having or currently have their children attend here... Several teachers were yelling at the kids pretty rudely, such as threatening to call parents or lock them in the van alone if they didn't listen (ie teachers wanting the children to take smiley pictures not a safety concern issue), while at the Olson Farms Pumpkin Patch on October 17, 2023. These responses seemed pretty extreme for each context. Also a girl got hurt while playing and one of the teachers was invalidating and shaming in how she spoke to her. The teacher left her to cry on her own for several minutes. I spoke up to say it seemed that she could use kindness and validation; the teacher did not do anything, instead continued to leave the girl alone after saying she did not have ice. As a parent this was all disturbing to see and not what I would expect from preschool teachers. This school appears to need the teachers to be trained in how to speak to children in an engaging way. The teachers do not appear to know how to emotionally regulate themselves so how can they teach this to the children?

It was night and day when we started at Learning Tree. The teachers are kind and attentive and keep parents informed. He loved his little Guppy classroom. When my son got a little older and needed some more assistance with learning, all of the staff has been very helpful, patient and understanding with his accommodations. Now he is in the preschool class at LT, and absolutely ADORES his classroom, his teacher and the activities. Despite the pandemic and the challenges everyone, including LT, has had to endure, he has absolutely thrived. I appreciate LT being so safety and health-conscious during this time. My son has also learned the alphabet, some reading and writing and math. He's seriously a step ahead in all of that and it makes me feel confident that when he starts Kindergarten this year it will be an easy transition. All due to the amazing teacher he had!

As a person with a background in preschool ed and also a parent of two, who has used several different childcare providers, I can genuinely say that Melody's Munchkins is one of the best childcare facilities I have ever interacted with. MJ and her staff are so wonderfully skilled with children, and as a result the kids have a very close bond with teachers and with one-another. The environment is planned with intention and care to enhance children's learning and social/emotional development. Throughout the day, kids are provided with many opportunities to learn, grow, and have fun. I love being able to check in to the parent portal to read about what the kids have been up to each day and see pictures of my son playing and learning! In regards to COVID, Melody's Munchkins was quick to put a safety plan in place and have continued follow it very carefully. They have done a fantastic job of making drop-offs and pick-ups feel safe and easy. They have been communicative and thoughtful through the entire process. If you are feeling nervous about sending your child to daycare during the pandemic, Melody's Munchkins should definitely be on the top of your list of safe spaces where your child can continue to learn and grow and feel a sense of stability during these very uncertain times!

Melody has been the ONLY care provider we have used for our 5 year old and our 2 year old. I know what the area has to offer as far as child care goes, we went through about 8 of them when our 9 year old daughter was little. Trust me..Melody's munchkins outshines them all!! I have full confidence in Melody and all of the other care providers there. In regards to the other mom suggesting that people just "drop in" to check on their children, I think that's taking it a bit far. I drop in at all times of the day to pick up my girls, to drop off diapers, etc.. and I have never observed anything out of the ordinary. Unless you consider happy children, who are being cared for by an attentive care giver out of the ordinary.. Melody is always striving to keep things fresh. Weekly she is updating the activities, the crafts, the play rooms, and she always has the kids safety in mind. Did I mention how great the teaching is here? With regular in home child care you just basically get a babysitter that plays with your child. Not here! Here you get so much more. Our 5 year old daughter was signing dozens of words with sign language by age 2. Now, at 5 she can sign the entire alphabet! She has also been learning Spanish, she knows more than I do! And now, at just 5 years old, she is doing math and writing above her age level. Our 2 year old knows her alphabet, can sign multiple words, and can spell multiple words including her name! I love that the teachers here are always doing some sort of hands on learning with the children. My children are excelling because these teachers make learning FUN! I could go on and on, I have endless positive things to say about Melody and her childcare center. If you want in home child care, home cooked meals for your children, a great curriculum, interactive activities, and endless loving care for your child, then I would highly recommend Melody's Munchkins!
