First let me say this store should be called Orvis: The Adams. There are like five Adams who have…read moreworked here over the past several years. I know this because this is my husband's toy store and I hear so many stories about Adam Schroder or Adam Slavinski or Adam the big cheese manager. I can't keep them all apart. All I know is one of them just shaved his beard and my husband is distraught. I'm pretty sure my husband is thinking about changing his name to Adam. Before my husband ever started fly fishing, I used to go here with my daughter clothes shopping. They have some really great brands - made in America - excellent customer service. When my husband put down his guitar and picked up his fly rod (only one expensive hobby at a time, please), this became the go-to place for all the things. Fly rods. Reels. Bags. Shirts. Pants. You get the drift. This is where my husband was introduced to and fell in love with Kuhl pants. He also really loves the Orvis-branded hats and shirts and jackets. This year he even has some things on his wish list for the dog. They've got a great selection of dog beds and toys in wonderful quality. And as I said, made in America, which is very important to our family. And then there are the Adams. They are really knowledgeable about the area fishing spots and my husband knows he can rely on them for current information. He just got home from Orvis, as a matter of fact, where one of the Adams told him Oatka and the Niagara River are looking pretty good right now. Tip: They teach free fly tying and fly fishing classes as well. If you're at all interested in learning how to fly fish, this is hands-down the best place in the area to learn. Ask for Adam.

We borrowed poles and were able to head outside to learn how to Fly Fish. We even got to attempt (and I got one!) using Velcro flies and Velcro fish out on the lawn. It was super silly and fun. The store is neat, clean, and organized. You can get clothing, Shoes, Pet Supplies, and all imaginable gear (and there's a TON) for this sport. Prices range from $100 - $1,500 depending on the level of deep dive you plan to make into the world of Fly Fishing. We are signed up for Fly Fishing 201 in a week and I will report back!

I've lived in Port Hope for 5 years. In all that time, I've dismissed and avoided the women's…read moreclothing stores because I was sure - SURE - that no store would have my size and, if they did, no selection and no real interest in serving me. That assumption ended last Saturday. Frankly, it was completely trashed! From my first, hesitantly made, phone call to G Facey Clothing to check the availability for larger sizes, to the change room, TJ and Stephanie made me feel welcome, important, valued, and... dare I say it... "normal". (I can't be sure but I think TJ even adjusted the store temperature so I didn't become a sweaty mess trying on several - SEVERAL! - of the options she suggested.) In larger chain stores, too often I was ignored, dismissed, or left to struggle to find options (and sweat through size and style changes) alone. NOT at G Facey. I was shopping for 2 outfits for Christmas parties. After my phone call, Stephanie put aside some options and when I dropped by TJ found SEVERAL more pieces that looked great. Even more surprising, TJ was happy - HAPPY! - to order in other items she thought I should consider. They also have shoes - I bought a super snappy pair to complete one outfit... and jewelry. I felt so good that, in effort to escape "leggings hell", I even tried on jeans (an unheard of occurrence) for more casual events! The personal service, attention to detail, and commitment to finding outfits for me (without breaking the bank) was beyond anything I've experienced in awhile. I left looking great and feeling good for the first time in a long time. REGARDLESS of your size, I encourage you to check G Facey out! TJ and Stephanie know their stuff! I can't recommend G Facey highly enough. A caution: shop fast! I loved everything and look forward to becoming a regular customer.

So far I have only dealt with them online, but the service I received from Jonathan was absolutely amazing. I was having trouble deciding between several items, but Jonathan asked me a few questions and was able to help me decide. When the stuff arrived, he was totally right. I am so happy to have received his advice. From now on, I only want to shop at Lost and Found. Thank you so much, I can't wait to place my next order. Update: I was in Toronto for a wedding and had some time to go visit them in person. They are in a great location, the store is well organized, and the staff is friendly and passionate about fashion. I had a great conversation about the brands they stock and why they choose them, which only further reinforced my opinion that this is the best men's store in Canada. But the best part was this: I bought a sweater (among other things) and was about to pay for it when I noticed a thread coming loose. To my amazement, their team was able to repair the garment while I waited. Not only do they stock the best clothing, they also provide excellent support. The sweater has been great ever since and survived several trips through the wash. Thanks for the perfect repair job! Next time please teach me how to do that :)

Nice selections of Guinness novelty items, Irish traditional more conservative clothing.. those nice sweaters, overcoat would certainly keep you warm and toasty.. but just don't look at the price tag. Niagara-on-the-Lake is a all about the shopping, history and lake time (it's named for a reason!); and as far as shopping goes, Irish Design should be one of your stops. Beautiful store chalk full of Irish (no surprise there!) products, many made from beautiful Merino wool: socks, hats, blankets and the most beautiful, thick sweaters you've ever seen. Also, a large assortment of scarves, jewelry and all your Irish needs. Whether you're looking for a present for yourself or someone else, if you're willing to open your pocket book VERY wide, this might be just the stop for you. Like most of the stores directly on Queen Street (the main drag in Niagara-on-the-Lake), Irish Design has its prices set high. Although, they DO have a "sale" section and remember, everything is listed in Canadian dollars. They accept credit, cash and US currency and have a lovely tea room, which I did not visit, in the back of the store (bathrooms only available for tea room patrons, no public store washroom!) Irish Design is also located near the [shopping] end of Queen Street, right before the residential strip, couple shops over from King George Theater. Great hours, opening at 9:30am during the weekday. Overall, a cozy shop and unique enough that it should be on your list of places to visit.
