Fantastic sailing school. As a beginner, they get you out on water sailing from minute one. I recommend them highly.

They're obsessed in the best way possible. Rain or shine, windy or calm, they wake up excited to hit the water. They started when they were 7 and 10 and 3 summers later they still love love love it! I pick them up and they jump in the car excited to tell me all about their sailing adventures on the water. The instructors are phenomenal and super knowledgeable, kind, encouraging, and safety-focused without being overly rigid. You can tell they genuinely love sailing and want to pass that passion on. My kids come home beaming, sun-kissed, full of stories, and with way more confidence than when they started. And let's talk life skills...this camp teaches independence, teamwork, problem-solving, resilience, and respect for nature, all while they're having an absolute blast on the water. It's not just a camp, it's a community. My kids have made real friendships here and look forward to reuniting with their "sailing crew" every year. We feel lucky to have ACSC in our lives. If you're even thinking about signing up just do it. Your kids will thank you, and you'll be amazed at how much they grow (and how fast they learn to sail!). My son (now 12) and I rented a Feva boat (12 foot boat) this past weekend and he took ME sailing out on that gorgeous bay. This place is a total gem.

The teens though have to make most decisions on their own and execute their plan. My son said he felt like he conquered something looking at the map and seeing how far he went. He gained a confident understanding of his ability to learn and apply his skills to a challenge that he had previously thought was out of reach.

This praise is for Arin Jeffers - a truly amazing broker and a wonderful human being!…read more I just bought an AMAZING Tayana 37 Pilothouse, "Bella Brisa", that was listed at Atomic Tuna yachts! She is in amazing condition - the credit for this goes to the previous owner Mr. Warner - he is another amazing individual! But THIS write-up is about Arin... From the very beginning, Arin has been nothing but STELLAR! When the yacht I wanted to look at was already sold, he recognized my desires immediately and encouraged me to look at Bella. As I said, she turned out to be the nicest boat of her age I have EVER seen (and I've seen a LOT of them). As I could tell from the listing that she would be something unique, I asked Arin for the earliest date possible to see her - August 9th (2025). When that day came, Arin moved items around in his schedule to accommodate me, and met me at the pier exactly as he had promised. He recognized that I was someone who needed time alone to look things over and he gave me time, and carte blanche to look deeply into Bella's pockets. I spent the better part of two hours, and Arin didn't blink or flinch once. He knew I had fallen in love. And I truly had - at 37 years old, Bella didn't have a mark on her and was equipped better than any boat I had owned before. I told him, even before the survey, that I wanted her, but he already knew, and had already contacted a highly sought-after surveyor - Andy Schwenk - to give him the heads up. He had known that she was something special when he took her into the brokerage. Arin made ALL of the arrangements for the survey: contracted the yard, contracted the surveyor, arranged for the owner to be there to answer any questions. The survey was completed 9 days later. I was present for the in-water portion, including the sea-trial. Unfortunately, I couldn't be present for the hauled portion of the survey - it had to be rescheduled because of a travel-lift failure on the original date of survey. So, Arin took charge and made videos for me of the haul-out and survey, so I could see how it was performed. As expected, the survey came back SPOTLESS - literally. There wasn't a single defect in her hull ANYWHERE! And her topsides looked just as good! In fact, it was the cleanest survey I've ever seen - including those of boats that were much younger. NOTE: My diver (David Laird) confirmed all those results two months later - told me he loves diving this boat because it's always SO clean. Knowing that would be the result of the survey, Arin had already been working on getting the title company going, and advising me of all the things I must do to complete the sale. By October 31st, I was the proud owner of Bella! Arin had already arranged a slip for me at the brokerage. He even helped the previous owner move Bella into that slip when she had to be moved out of the previous owner's marina, and I couldn't be there. A BIG thank you goes our to Mr. Warner and Arin for that one! November 7th, ONE month after I had first seen her, My friend Scott and I sailed Bella to Westpoint Harbor, where she now sits in her new home! I CAN'T say enough good about Arin Jeffers! He is truly amazing - selfless, professional, knowledgeable, ethical, kind, and patient - all the things a truly wonderful broker should be! Bravo! I will continue to maintain contact with Arin - I'm sure we will know each other for a long time to come! My name is William. Feel free to call me at 719-440-3045 if you have any questions you'd like to ask!

Maybe that's the reason why I couldn't get our agent to call us back. Even when she would text that she would return our calls we still couldn't get a call back. It's sad because she offered us a lot of benefits with her sales package. Oh well, off to another broker. It's too bad because it's an excellent Express Cruiser.

They quickly changed out his reel and gave him pointers on where to fish. Here's where the story gets better: That afternoon my grandson tried to cast and his line became a complete tangle. We went back to West Marine and were helped once again by Thai. He proceeded to very patiently untangle and restring the line. He tested it and once again gave my grandson instructions on how to prevent line tangles, how to fix, how to do test drops. I am truly thankful and impressed by how well we were treated at West Marine. Thank you Thai for your outstanding customer service.

I was trying to place an order for my employer online, and the order kept getting rejected for some unknown reason. When I tried calling the corporate customer service number, the message informed me there is no help available over the phone, and to use their chat feature instead. I tried the chat feature, and the agent told me to try the transaction again. I did, and again the order did not process successfully. I thought I'd try my luck with speaking with someone at the local store, so I called the Alameda location and was lucky enough to get Leparish on the phone. He diligently worked on troubleshooting with me, confirmed there was indeed some issue with the payment processing, and instead of waiting on corporate to hopefully resolve it, he went ahead and packed up the items I needed right there at the store himself, and scheduled a shipment to my employer. He made sure I had all the pertinent order information I needed in my inbox before I got off the phone. He was helpful, patient, and courteous. Customer service like this is a rarity these days. Huge kudos to Leparish, thank you so much for your help in resolving a frustrating situation. This is what great service looks like. West Marine, fix your ordering issues, and give this man a raise!

This is a delightfully busy marina with lots of hand-launched vessels, personal watercraft, all manner of sailboats, and every conceivable powerboat. The staff are super friendly and always on hand to help. The fuel dock is a bit tight (for a big boat). Some of the docks are a bit rickety. But it is clear there is an investment in the facilities and some of the former neglect is being replaced with first-class marine materials. Pier 29 Restaurant has an amazing selection and the food is well prepared, well presented, and reasonably priced. DO NOT MISS the Moroccan Restaurant tucked around the back (Saturday night pre-fixe dinner is the best deal in town). There's also a mom-and-pop shop near E-dock. The Ballena Bay Yacht Club is welcoming and inviting. There's even boat rental. Great spot for a weekend away.

I would seriously think about moving my boat here if you are looking for an East Bay location thats safe and peaceful.
