Went in for a bike helmet as I was at JD and left mine at home. They didn't try to upsell me and instead showed me a great helmet that was around 65.00 but fit perfectly and was high quality. This place has 300.00 helmets and he didn't try and rip me off. These guys aren't "douchy" jerks like you see in some bike shops. I will return! read more

This place is just the best on every category. Don't know why I didn't write a review sooner. I've been there 3 times for bikes. They were unbelievable every time. Today I brought my grandson in for his first bike. They taught him how to ride (with training wheels). They were so patient and kind. No upselling, even told me the helmet I picked may be too expensive as there were others just as good for less money. Six months ago, I brought my granddaughter in to learn to ride. The staff was different and just as wonderful. They are pretty busy in the back of the store repairing and restoring bikes. Everyone that came in was very pleased. No pressure to purchase, told me to come in or call for any problems or questions that may arise and explained to me how to set up the bike so he could use it for another 5 years, I told them I'd just come in for a new one. Well, I walked in to repair my BMC time machine ... this is the 3 rd shop I tried in the area and finally I found a place where people are nice to you. They are welcoming and willing to help. They managed to set up my bike and it is riding like brand new ! Good job guys ! I am no stranger to bike shops. Bike shop experiences usually go 1 of 2 ways - they are elitist and create a feeling of 'not cool enough' or they are super kind and create an atmosphere of comfort. J-Town creates a warm, kind, and friendly environment. They were so kind and helpful to me. Open to all questions. Patient. Informative. I ended up purchasing a Küat rack from them. Not just because it was in stock but because they were so kind and not pushy. They went out of their way. They have gained a loyal customer based on this experience there. They also have stock despite the current boom and subsequent depletion of bike parts. Thank you J-Town. Good selection of bikes, very knowledgeable, helpful, & friendly staff, and they can order just about anything you need and get it in a day or two. I bought a Specialized Roll here a year ago and liked the place so much I came back this winter and bought a back rack & pannier. I was a little confused about mounting everything, but they patiently explained it and everything was fine. P.S. You get a discount on accessories if you've bought a bike here. Now that I think about it, the only funny thing about buying the bike last year is that I wanted a step-thru model. Yeah, I know Specialized calls it a "women's model", but millions of Europeans ride step-thru bikes as a generic transportation bike (grocery shopping, errands, etc.) and not just a recreation bike (sport). It's just easier to get on a step-thru bike without having to constantly lift your leg over the panniers full of groceries or wine or whatever. The sales guy kept calling it a women's bike, perhaps thinking I'd be embarrassed if someone pointed that out to me after I bought it. Ha ha, whatever. I love the bike, don't care what people think, and I'll continue to come to J-Town for accessories & advice. read more

J-Town was the 2nd bike shop I contacted to buy a specific unique recumbent tri. The 1st shop I called didn't even want to talk to me. When I called J-Town, Zach was patient, answered all of my questions and I had lots, and was very encouraging so I ordered the bike. Today I went in to try it out and hoping to bring it home. I bought a bike , spent close to 700.00 for it and the seat continually shifted. Took it in to the shop for them to adjust it and secure it which they couldn't do. They replaced the seat clamp with one that actually worked then they charged me for it. My bike was over 600.00 and the seat clamp was defective. The brand is Specialized so I thought it would have been quality. Bottom line I was told by the staff when I bought the bike that they guaranteed it and would adjust anything that needed it. To charge me to replace a defective part is just wrong and JTown does not stand behind the product. By the way I got the bike 8 weeks ago so it's not like it's an old bike? I would recommend against buying from JTown Bikes. There are 2 other stores in Jupiter. Sorry. read more

My first time stopping by there. I had a flat tire. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Obviously at the time they weren't exceptionally busy at the time, but there seemed to be a steady flow of customers. I was helped as soon as I walked up to the counter. The tech checked out my tire and diagnosed the problem. The tube was replaced at a price that was more than reasonable. I was very happy to find a great shop down here at my winter home. read more

my husband took his wheel in as it had broken spokes. He was quoted $75 to repair. It took longer than estimated and he was ultimately charged $150! Whaaat? How are they allowed to do that? He could have just bought a new wheel. I bought a nice pair of cycle shorts there a while back and need a new pair. I'll look elsewhere for those and for my tune-ups. About to ride 150 miles to support Multiple Sclerosis (a disease that I have) and need a shop that is honest. This experience was terrible!! read more
