From my initial consultation to surgery day and every follow-up in between, Dr. Harlan and the team at Phoenix Foot & Ankle were nothing short of outstanding. The office is clean, modern, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient, and the medical assistants are knowledgeable, approachable, and made every visit feel easy. Dr. Harlan is clearly an expert in his field--he laid out a clear recovery plan and told me exactly what to expect as long as I stuck to it. I'm thrilled with the outcome. This was a true 5-star experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this team to anyone dealing with a foot or ankle issue. read more

Too bad I can't give a rating above the five stars. I've been seeing Dr. Harmon for the past at least 15-20 years and has the best site manners for any patient can ask for. today for the first time, I was way past my appointment time I arrive 30 minutes late due to heavy traffic, etc. the front office and Dr. Harlan was able to get me in which was very nice. If it was a different doctors office not be that luckythey will probably would've told me to reschedule. I truly admire his bedside manners and the time that he takes with his patience. I always notice on his wall. he always had from the Phoenix magazine top each year in his category and they really should continue choosing always him for the best and not from his peers. It's his patient should have the therefore, if you miss any of the best stock from the Phoenix , they should start redoing it. so I truly want to thank Dr. Harlan and his office staff that are all truly amazing. So from the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank everyone always courteous and pleasant.. read more

Experienced, down to earth exceptionally well trained physician! I scrubbed cases with him, and he is first class! read more

Dr. Harlan is an amazing surgeon. I had bone Spurs in both feet and Dr. Harlan performed the second foot. The surgery itself was so much less painful and the end result better as well. I wish he did the first one!! In addition to all this he's very personable and a straight shooter, not like speaking to a Dr, but a friend, who happens to be a really good Dr too. If you are having foot issues this is where you want to be! read more

Dr Harlan was the 3rd medical professional I have seen about a foot problem While both of the others did their best to diagnose the problem, it was left a mystery. Dr Harlan, on the other hand, examined my for 90 seconds & came up with the diagnosis ! This man is an excellent podiatrist & I recommend him 150% Nancy Nurse read more

This place was a scam. I would give it no stars if possible. The best advice was the shoe I was wearing could be an issue and maybe if I sweat often, to change my socks.. Also, Dr. Harlan had no equipment to resolve the issues besides a razor.. unless you want surgery... which is also the very the last resort. He was very unprofessional, 30 minutes late... all I can say is, they are still there and it was very half way done. He was about to leave with out even acknowledging the main one under my foot. He just didn't care and it was shown. I came to this place in hopes that I could find a solution but I left disappointed, paid 120$ for something I do at home myself, better too! I regret even giving this place a shot. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. read more

Outstanding work from Dr. Harlan. I meet him last year after seeing several other DPMs, and decide to go with him for he was thorough and compassionate about his patients. His work is exemplary! Had several visits prior to surgery for a bunionectomy and neuroma removal. Day of surgery, had 5 people attending and he was also teaching another DPM during the surgery. Excellent role model and his work is amazing! Surgery was Nov 4 and have been up two months later playing golf, pickleball and icing of course to expedite results. Follow his lead and you will be truly amazed with his work. I'm in the heath care business and did my due diligence vetting doctors for this procedure. Excellent bedside manner and his team and office staff are outstanding. Would highly recommend Dr. Tim Harlan, DPM. read more

I went here last week. The staff was extremely friendly, including Dr. Harlan himself. The only drawback was I waited in the little examination room for over half an hour. My appointment was scheduled for 8.20 and I didn't get seen until nearly 9.00. It's always funny when you're at a clinic or something and hear someone screaming in pain. A guy down the hall was having some stitches taken out and was cussing up a storm. :) He walked out before me, so they must've taken good care of him. :) read more

The absolute best there is. I came in with a complicated foot injury (Lisfranc displacement with breaks and tears) which required surgery. He patched me up and 12 weeks later I'm back to wearing shoes. No pain at all now. I'm 66 years old and will be back to skiing and flying soon. Super cool guy, amazing surgeon and awesome staff. read more

I needed to set up with a podiatrist. This office is excellent. Dr. Harlan take the time to listen, he explains and gives you all the time you need. His office staff is excellent and very efficient. He gives all options from watch and wait and options or alternatives. Will be returning for annual visits. read more

*So unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Dr.Harlan. I've been dealing with foot pain for nearly 16 years. I've seen many podiatrist in that time.  It came down to needing surgery since no other treatments were working and the pain was getting worse. After extensive research I came across Dr.Harlan. i scheduled a visit and liked him. He was a bit cocky but knowledgeable and confident.  I was impressed and decided to book my surgery through him.  At my pre op appointment we discussed a serious allergy I had to a common medication used in surgery. He rest assured me it wouldn't be an issue and that a surgery center would be a good place to get my foot operated on.  He also assured me that he had the best anesthesiologist and they knew what they were doing. The day of the surgery I pull up to the center and I get a phone call saying my surgery is cancelled because of my allergy and that the dr would call me later. Naturally I was infuriated because we had discussed this prior and it wasn't to be an issue. As well he was fully aware that I had an international contractual agreement with my workplace and work agency to have time off and that a change in my.contract for time off could result in my contract being cancelled and being sent back to my country. I also informed him my.father was flying down from out country to help take care of me. I did not even get an apology..nothing. He didn't take responsibility for what had happened and had to sympathy .  All he says "Well it sucks for me too because I don't get paid" and "we'll  reschedule you."  Furthermore, I am and have been an OR nurse for 10 years all across North America in a variety of surgical settings so I'm not completely unaware of how the system works. It's simple, if someone has an allergy to a medicine you don't give it. Knowing hundreds of surgeons and anesthesiologist and healtj care professionals I reach out to a bunch and they all agreed it was an asinine reason to cancel. None of us have ever came across this before and were all taken back. I've never seen anyone cancelled for an allergy... Dr harlan said he made the ultimate decision but the nurses and anesthesiologist didn't feel safe operating on me. The lady who called to cancelled from Biltmore surgery center was very rude as well. I also didn't receive a phone call from his office for nearly 2 weeks to reschedule. I always had difficulty with his staff who i will not name, but she would not return phone calls, didn't even size me properly for the walking boot and gave me 4 sizes too large, and gave me incorrect information regarding pre op instructions. I have since found a new surgeon who has been nothing less than amazing..knowledgeable, personable, friendly, experienced, and wek educated. He listened to my concerns and treated me as an individual.  His staff have been very accommodating as well. The surgery center I went to was also the best experience I've had with surgery ever. Now I really don't like talking negatively about others so I will close with this, I don't doubt dr.harlan wouldn't have done an excellent job but professionally he lacked. I was extremely upset how he reacted because I really feel he is a great surgeon. But everything happens for a reason. read more

I went to Dr. Harlan for what turned out to be a nerve issue requiring surgery. His appointments were on time, and he spent a good deal of time with me listening to my concerns at my first appt and the follow ups. I ended up having surgery, and the surgery and recovery was exactly as he said it would be. I really feel I got the best treatment in the Valley. I am back to running, hiking and doing everything I did before, and I am a big fan. If I ever have other foot or ankle issues, Dr. Harlan is my guy. read more

You can't can't find a nicer man, more experienced or a better surgeon. The staff are pleasant, appointments are on time. My whole family sees him. Better than an orthopedic surgeon for foot and ankle issues. read more

I love Dr. Harlan. He's friendly and hilarious. I was nervous to go to a podiatrist again because my first experience was a nightmare, he definitely turned those feelings around. read more

I am very grateful to Dr. Harlan for his expertise in dealing with issues I had with my feet. He took the time to listen to me, examine my foot and explain what was causing the pain. We first tried some conservative measures first. When those didn't take care of the problem, I had surgery on my right foot and was fully informed and prepared beforehand. Recovery was smooth and I was able to get back to hiking - pain-free! I highly recommend Dr. Harlan! read more

Dr. Harlan and his staff were very professional, courteous, and helpful during my visits, surgery and follow up appointments. Every aspect was explained to me and communication through-out excellent. I'm very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend and use him again. read more

Dr. Harlan is a life saver! I couldn't be more happy with the result from my plantar fasciitis! Very nice and timely staff.

I requested a good Podiatrist from my joint doctor (Dr. James Davidson). He disclosed that he knew of an excellent Doctor but I would have to travel a distance to see him. He told me Dr. Harlan was his recommendation. I found I could trust Dr. Davidson's recommendation so I began treatment from Dr. Harlan. I have not been disappointed but to the contrary I have been extremely pleased. I found Dr. Harlan to be specific about his disclosure and leaves surgical decisions to the patient. He is not one to run for the knife if he feels that are other alternatives. I am a Martial Artist and need the use of my feet and I have been very happy with my recovery and end results. Dr. Harlan is very professional and seems to hire staff of the same caliber. Thank you so very much Doctor. Gregory Long Surprise, AZ read more

Dr. Harlan and his staff are courteous and professional. I highly recommend them. There are not enough stars for them. You are treated like you are part of their family. Dr. Harlan is a done to earth person. He also throws in a few jokes for no extra charge. Before going to Dr. Harlan, I went to another doc and eventually cancelled my surgery. That office could learn a lot from Dr. Harlan's staff. I regret that I did not start my process with Dr. Harlan. Even though Dr. Harlan's office was about 30 miles south of where I worked, the drive was well worth it. Thanks to the whole staff for being fantastic read more

Listen I have seen various physicians and specialist since moving to Arizona from New York. It does not get any better than Tim Harlan, DPM for foot/ankle issues. His staff is great and he is extremely knowledgeable. If you want the best here in Arizona Dr. Harlan is your guy. I had bunion surgery that was a lot more complicated which included having to have all my toes straightened out as a result of this bunion. I would not recommend anyone else. I live in the east valley and it is absolutely worth the trip across town in rush hour. read more

I am surprised by the reviews. Dr. Harlan and his then partner saved my badly damaged ankle in 2006. After recovery and until now I am pain free. I have been back to see him on a couple of foot issues and after following his advice, I was able to avoid surgeries. He is a serious and busy Dr, some may want more coddling, this is not the place for you. A co-worker referred me to Dr. Harlan and I unequivocally refer friends, family and colleagues to his practice. Great Doctor, made my life better, and is listed annually as a Top Doc for a reason. read more

I had two previous Morten's neuroma surgeries by him and back then I would have said he's the best Dr. ever. However it seems he's great as long as things go right. Had to have a third surgery just this past March and things did not go well this time. The stitches were taken out and I was left with a big gaping hole in my foot. It was so deep I had to be on a wound vac and he just kept saying "you need to let it heal." Well , 4.5 months later and it never did and I had to have further surgery by someone else which cost $1,000. Won't know the outcome for awhile but it does appear it's finally healing . This experience was horrible. One of my toes is totally numb and I had a deep oozing hole in my foot for months. My foot will never be the same. And his office staff treated me like I was a bother . Overall very disappointed in my care and in him. Sadly I can no longer recommend him. read more

Four years ago I fell off a roof and completely demolished my right heel. In my early fifties, I was afraid I'd never walk again, much less hike. Dr. Harlan was the BEST! He did a dynamite job of fixing my heel with a plate and ten screws, and although it was a long road to recovery with lots of physical therapy and return visits to Dr. Harlan, I am proud to say that since then I have hiked extensively, including hiking Havasupai several times. I don't even use hiking poles any more. I found Dr. Harlan to be not only incredibly talented with doing the surgery, but to have a great sense of humor ... and I am incredibly grateful to him for his talent, persistance and encouragement. I highly recommend him. read more
