I've been seeing Dr. Harmon for the past at least 15-20 years and has the best site manners for any patient can ask for. today for the first time, I was way past my appointment time I arrive 30 minutes late due to heavy traffic, etc. the front office and Dr. Harlan was able to get me in which was very nice. If it was a different doctors office not be that luckythey will probably would've told me to reschedule. I truly admire his bedside manners and the time that he takes with his patience. I always notice on his wall. he always had from the Phoenix magazine top each year in his category and they really should continue choosing always him for the best and not from his peers. This place was a scam. I would give it no stars if possible. The best advice was the shoe I was wearing could be an issue and maybe if I sweat often, to change my socks.. Also, Dr. Harlan had no equipment to resolve the issues besides a razor.. unless you want surgery... which is also the very the last resort. He was very unprofessional, 30 minutes late... all I can say is, they are still there and it was very half way done. He was about to leave with out even acknowledging the main one under my foot. He just didn't care and it was shown. I came to this place in hopes that I could find a solution but I left disappointed, paid 120$ for something I do at home myself, better too! Outstanding work from Dr. Harlan. I meet him last year after seeing several other DPMs, and decide to go with him for he was thorough and compassionate about his patients. His work is exemplary! Had several visits prior to surgery for a bunionectomy and neuroma removal. Day of surgery, had 5 people attending and he was also teaching another DPM during the surgery. Excellent role model and his work is amazing! Surgery was Nov 4 and have been up two months later playing golf, pickleball and icing of course to expedite results. Follow his lead and you will be truly amazed with his work. I'm in the heath care business and did my due diligence vetting doctors for this procedure. The absolute best there is. I came in with a complicated foot injury (Lisfranc displacement with breaks and tears) which required surgery. He patched me up and 12 weeks later I'm back to wearing shoes. No pain at all now. I'm 66 years old and will be back to skiing and flying soon. I went here last week. The staff was extremely friendly, including Dr. Harlan himself. The only drawback was I waited in the little examination room for over half an hour. My appointment was scheduled for 8.20 and I didn't get seen until nearly 9.00. It's always funny when you're at a clinic or something and hear someone screaming in pain. I needed to set up with a podiatrist. This office is excellent. Dr. Harlan take the time to listen, he explains and gives you all the time you need. His office staff is excellent and very efficient. *So unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Dr.Harlan. I've been dealing with foot pain for nearly 16 years. I've seen many podiatrist in that time.  It came down to needing surgery since no other treatments were working and the pain was getting worse. After extensive research I came across Dr.Harlan. i scheduled a visit and liked him. He was a bit cocky but knowledgeable and confident.  I was impressed and decided to book my surgery through him.  At my pre op appointment we discussed a serious allergy I had to a common medication used in surgery. He rest assured me it wouldn't be an issue and that a surgery center would be a good place to get my foot operated on.  He also assured me that he had the best anesthesiologist and they knew what they were doing. The day of the surgery I pull up to the center and I get a phone call saying my surgery is cancelled because of my allergy and that the dr would call me later. Naturally I was infuriated because we had discussed this prior and it wasn't to be an issue. As well he was fully aware that I had an international contractual agreement with my workplace and work agency to have time off and that a change in my.contract for time off could result in my contract being cancelled and being sent back to my country. I also informed him my.father was flying down from out country to help take care of me. I did not even get an apology..nothing. He didn't take responsibility for what had happened and had to sympathy .  All he says "Well it sucks for me too because I don't get paid" and "we'll  reschedule you."  Furthermore, I am and have been an OR nurse for 10 years all across North America in a variety of surgical settings so I'm not completely unaware of how the system works. It's simple, if someone has an allergy to a medicine you don't give it. Knowing hundreds of surgeons and anesthesiologist and healtj care professionals I reach out to a bunch and they all agreed it was an asinine reason to cancel. None of us have ever came across this before and were all taken back. I've never seen anyone cancelled for an allergy... Dr harlan said he made the ultimate decision but the nurses and anesthesiologist didn't feel safe operating on me. The lady who called to cancelled from Biltmore surgery center was very rude as well. I also didn't receive a phone call from his office for nearly 2 weeks to reschedule. I always had difficulty with his staff who i will not name, but she would not return phone calls, didn't even size me properly for the walking boot and gave me 4 sizes too large, and gave me incorrect information regarding pre op instructions. I have since found a new surgeon who has been nothing less than amazing..knowledgeable, personable, friendly, experienced, and wek educated. He listened to my concerns and treated me as an individual.  His staff have been very accommodating as well. The surgery center I went to was also the best experience I've had with surgery ever. Now I really don't like talking negatively about others so I will close with this, I don't doubt dr.harlan wouldn't have done an excellent job but professionally he lacked. I was extremely upset how he reacted because I really feel he is a great surgeon. But everything happens for a reason. read more

I went to Dr. Harlan for what turned out to be a nerve issue requiring surgery. His appointments were on time, and he spent a good deal of time with me listening to my concerns at my first appt and the follow ups. I ended up having surgery, and the surgery and recovery was exactly as he said it would be. I really feel I got the best treatment in the Valley. I am back to running, hiking and doing everything I did before, and I am a big fan. If I ever have other foot or ankle issues, Dr. Harlan is my guy. read more

I requested a good Podiatrist from my joint doctor (Dr. James Davidson). He disclosed that he knew of an excellent Doctor but I would have to travel a distance to see him. He told me Dr. Harlan was his recommendation. I found I could trust Dr. Davidson's recommendation so I began treatment from Dr. Harlan. I have not been disappointed but to the contrary I have been extremely pleased. I found Dr. Harlan to be specific about his disclosure and leaves surgical decisions to the patient. He is not one to run for the knife if he feels that are other alternatives. I am a Martial Artist and need the use of my feet and I have been very happy with my recovery and end results. Listen I have seen various physicians and specialist since moving to Arizona from New York. It does not get any better than Tim Harlan, DPM for foot/ankle issues. His staff is great and he is extremely knowledgeable. If you want the best here in Arizona Dr. Harlan is your guy. I had bunion surgery that was a lot more complicated which included having to have all my toes straightened out as a result of this bunion. I would not recommend anyone else. I am surprised by the reviews. Dr. Harlan and his then partner saved my badly damaged ankle in 2006. After recovery and until now I am pain free. I have been back to see him on a couple of foot issues and after following his advice, I was able to avoid surgeries. He is a serious and busy Dr, some may want more coddling, this is not the place for you. A co-worker referred me to Dr. Harlan and I unequivocally refer friends, family and colleagues to his practice. I had two previous Morten's neuroma surgeries by him and back then I would have said he's the best Dr. ever. However it seems he's great as long as things go right. Had to have a third surgery just this past March and things did not go well this time. The stitches were taken out and I was left with a big gaping hole in my foot. It was so deep I had to be on a wound vac and he just kept saying "you need to let it heal." Well , 4.5 months later and it never did and I had to have further surgery by someone else which cost $1,000. Won't know the outcome for awhile but it does appear it's finally healing . This experience was horrible. One of my toes is totally numb and I had a deep oozing hole in my foot for months. My foot will never be the same. And his office staff treated me like I was a bother . Overall very disappointed in my care and in him. Sadly I can no longer recommend him. read more

Four years ago I fell off a roof and completely demolished my right heel. In my early fifties, I was afraid I'd never walk again, much less hike. Dr. Harlan was the BEST! He did a dynamite job of fixing my heel with a plate and ten screws, and although it was a long road to recovery with lots of physical therapy and return visits to Dr. Harlan, I am proud to say that since then I have hiked extensively, including hiking Havasupai several times. I don't even use hiking poles any more. I found Dr. Harlan to be not only incredibly talented with doing the surgery, but to have a great sense of humor ... and I am incredibly grateful to him for his talent, persistance and encouragement.
