Dr. Pipher is a wonderful surgeon and doctor. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. He appears to be very interested in whatever you have to say and engages in the conversation. I am extremely disappointed with the way patient calls are being handled for your office. If you are choosing to use a call center to manage scheduling and communication, then it is your responsibility to ensure those representatives treat patients--especially veterans referred through the VA--with professionalism and respect. The current process is unacceptable. Patients are forced to answer excessive and unnecessary questions just to speak with someone in the actual office. Even when a transfer is requested, it often leads to yet another call center representative rather than someone who can provide real assistance. This creates unnecessary barriers to care and reflects poorly on your practice. At this point, I am requesting a copy of my medical file so I can transfer to a provider who is accessible and actually prioritizes patient care over call center protocols. I will also be reporting this experience to the VA, as veterans should not be treated this way when seeking care through referred providers. Dr. Jordan S is a joke of a doctor, if you can even call him a doctor. Went in with 2 issues, an ingrown toenail and ankle/calf pain. Disclosed to him that I had had plantar fasciitis surgery in the past, and praise the Lord, the diagnosis was in without even examining my foot and leg. He told me that he gets patients who come to him because of the "hacks" out there that should not be called doctors and gives me this amazing story of how it is one quick surgery, not even in my foot, that will cure all my woes. Does not even address the ingrown nail, by the way. He then tells me that I need a night splint, which, in this case, I did need a new one, so he leaves the room, and that is the end of him. Then comes the billing. Let me say WOW!!! These people literally falsified medical records to be able to charge me more. They tried charging me for a 45-minute visit when he was in the room for a total of 5 minutes. I actually timed it since he was running late, and I was getting ready to walk out before he finally came in. Then on top of that, they charged me for an x-ray that never happened, and him examining the x-ray again never happened. When I called them out on it, they said that they would remove the bloated and fraudulent charges. Guess what? Still there. I get two different bills from them each day. One of the bills still shows the x-ray and bloated charges, and the other has a credit for the x-ray, but somehow they are still the same exact price. Wonder how that happened? Maybe some magical billing change that they are trying to change codes to get more money. The funny part is I did not feel comfortable with this quack doctor, so I went and saw a real surgeon, and he ordered an MRI, and wouldn't you know it, I have a torn Achilles tendon and no sign of plantar fasciitis at all. I decided to keep my follow-up with this idiot just to see if he would own up to making a crazy diagnosis without doing the work, and this moron decided to tell me that I do not have a torn Achilles and that he specializes in foot and ankle issues. I should ignore what the surgeon for the AZ Diamondbacks says. What kind of loon would make these statements? A loon who knows he was called out and does not want to admit he is not in the practice to help people but rather to just nickel and dime patients and give bogus medical advice and exams. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Desert Foot and Ankle and see a real surgeon if you have issues. This practice is a bunch of scam artists. As for the billing, I am actually fighting with them currently to resolve all the fraudulent charges, and at the point where I want them to send me to collections so I can actually take them to court. I have all the proof I need to show they are fraudulently charging me. Wonder what this office would do if all of us who they have fraudulently charged filed a class action lawsuit against them. I had an appointment with Jordan Sisto, DPM, FACFAS for an ingrown toenail. This was my first experience with one, so I was hoping for guidance and reassurance. Before seeing the doctor, the medical assistant told me I was advised to either go to the ER to have it removed or have only one side treated at a time, which felt extreme for an ingrown toenail. During the visit, I shared relevant medical history, including that I had previously been non-weight bearing for several months due to a leg injury. The response I received felt dismissive, and facial expressions and comments made me uncomfortable. When he examined my toes, he stated I didn't need treatment, trimmed my toenails, and then left the room without explanation or discussion of next steps. I left feeling confused, uncomfortable, and unheard. The bedside manner was very poor, and the interaction felt more like I was being scolded than cared for. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations for patient care. read more

My objective was to reorder my orthotics. I was never told when I made the appointment that I would need to pay for my orthotics up front, per their "corporate policy". I was told this when I was at my appointment. I refused to pay up front until I talked to my insurance company. After talking with my insurance company, they informed me that there is NO out of pocket expense on my part for the orthotics. My insurance company even called the office to inform them that I shouldn't pay anything as they cover the expense 100%. This is where it all begins... I called the office right after my insurance company talked with them about ordering my orthotics and not paying up front for them. Unfortunately, the individuals that answered the phone have such a heavy accent that it was difficult for me to understand her. I thought that day I gave them all the information they needed to reorder my orthotics. 2-1/2 weeks later, I called the office to check on the status of my order. Each time I called, I had to leave a message for someone to call me back. When I did get the call back, again, the heavy accent individuals were not helpful. So, I selected the billing department option the next time. They were somewhat helpful, but they are not in the office. They were going to have someone call me back. Never got that call back. Next time, I selected the medical assistant option. I got the message that the mailbox was full and was hung up on. I called again, selected the appointment option. Same heavy accent. I told them what I had tried. She transferred me to the medical assistant line, and again, the message was the mailbox is full and hung up. By now I'm really frustrated. I still don't know if my orthotics were ordered or not. I can't seem to speak to anyone expect the appointment individuals. Again, each time you choose to speak to the scheduling department, they need to call you back. So, when I talked with them again, I asked to speak to the office manager. They transferred me to an individual, who I found out wasn't the office manager. She informed me again about their "corporate policy" to get the money up front for my order. I explained to her about how my insurance company pre-approved me. Nope, not budging. She was going to transfer me to the actual office manager, plus she would give her my name and number to call me back. The transfer this time went to the surgical scheduling, left a message. No call back. I waited a couple of days and tried again. This time I asked to speak to the last individual to whom I spoke with before. She claims that after asking the office manager if she got my message, the office manager said she had returned my call, a week ago, and left a message. There are so many lies just in that one statement. She also informed me the same song and dance that "corporate policy" is to get the money up front. This time I asked to get the corporate office number. Nope, that wasn't going to happen. I asked to get the name of the lab that makes the orthotics, and I will reach out to them myself without using their office and their "corporate policy". Nope, that wasn't going to happen either. After all of that I finally reached back out to my insurance company, and they will work as my liaison with their office. I don't have any resolution as of yet. Unfortunately, it seems that "corporate policy" is actually ruining their business. The billing department is outsourced, the scheduling department it outsourced. Their hands are tied in the office. To me this is corporate greed. You pay up front for your services, your insurance company then pays the claim, and you have to battle with them to get your money back. Corporate double dips on your payment. Please be aware that many of these practices are controlled by a "corporate office". The doctors are great, but unfortunately, they sold their soul to an organization that rules with an iron fist, and they don't have any control anymore of their practices. read more

Saw dr Sisto several times and finally decided to get surgery on #1 of two feet that needed it. I scheduled my surgery weeks in advance. It was to be done on a Tues. On Friday near closing, no one had called to tell me anything re surgery time. I called THEM. Was told "he's on vacation , he'll be back Monday. BUT he forgot to do his paperwork B4 he left. When he gets back on Monday, IF he gets time to do his paperwork, so he gets unsuspended from doing surgery , he will do your surgery on Tues. But we won't know til late Monday if he's completed all his patient's paperwork, as he has a full day w patients as well" JUST WOW! Not everyone makes the money of a doctor and can afford to take off work and have others take off work to drive and care for them -just to have the doctor go on vacation and not bother to complete his paperwork for surgeries. Thankfully friends and family said "that's not someone I would want to work on my foot". So now it's months later , I'm still in pain and In search of a new doc. So much time wasted, missed work, for appts there for nothing . He never called and NO zone from office e en offered an apology for all of this! read more

Dr. Harill lived up to all his great reviews. I saw him on 11-5-25 decided to have foot surgery for bunions. I discussed this with him that day and told him I would like to wait until after the holidays. I know that I will have to have a couple of tests done and some blood work and also insurance approval. We all know how long it takes for this so on 11-20-25 I called to schedule my appt for January 2026. I had to leave a message with the surgery scheduler to call me back. Well it is now 12-4-25 and I have NOT received a call and I have left 15 messages (No I am not making this up) I also called the appt schedule and she told me that there was only 1 person that could schedule surgery and that she would send over a message to her to call me. Well that has never happened and I really hope Dr Harill reads these reviews because I think he would be disappointed to know that you can't even get a call returned. As of today I still do not have a surgery date and the bunions are know causing blisters on my toes and it is painful. Stay tuned and maybe just maybe someone will actually call me. I was a new patient when I saw Dr Harrill so this does not leave me with a positive feeling if his staff can't find time to call a patient back for surgery. read more

Billing is a nightmare. I got billed for corn removal that did not happen. I spent two months getting that corrected. I paid up front for a foot shell because you said that it wasn't likely to be covered by insurance, but it was. So I paid you in August and BCBS paid you in October. I cannot get anyone to answer a phone EVER. I have left messages without callback. I have left messages on the portal. No answer. My next step is to report this to Medicare and BCBS. Dr. Maling is a no nonsense, approachable podiatrist in Chandler, AZ. He knows what needs to be done and makes sure you know your options. He has good bedside manner and helps the patient feel comfortable and confident. I liked the fact that I could get my orthotics made right there instead of having to go somewhere else. Went to the office for an toe nail fungal infection which I already new and tried OTC products but had no luck so needed a prescription medicine to cure... Got care from Dr who needed blood work to see if my liver could handle the drug... Before I had time to get blood work done got a bill for the services rendered. So waited in waiting room for 1 hour before getting taken to treatment room where i waited another 20 minutes for Dr... So received bill for $$ 2,436.88 for a diagnosis I already knew I Had and was confirmed by Dr.... WOW $2,400. bucks for 10 - 15 visit with Dr. Obviously went in the wrong profession.. I want to share my experience with this office because it may change someone's life as it did mine. I was in high school and I had to quit sports and I ended up dropping out of school. I lost most of my range of motion in my left foot and I had seen so many Dr's but didn't get answers. After a whole year of searching I found Dr. Harrill he was able to properly diagnose me. I totally recommend this office! Dr Harrell is fabulous and eased my foot pain in less than 10 minutes. Front office also very competent.

I have to schedule a 3rd appointment. I just got the $85 bill for the doctor to cut them back with a scissors. The office originally told me there would be no charge since they are defective. Nothing the office has ever said has been true. I just paid the $85 and have left messages to schedule a 3rd appointment. It's never been about the money I pay my bills in full just to emphasize this. I want Orthotics. I want ones that fit. Is this too much to ask? Can they actually deliver a product? If I wear the ones I got from Desert Foot and Ankle they give me blisters. I have pictures of how they bunch of the socks they were incorrectly made. Yet I will go to a third appointment and they will charge me to look at them. Not my feet nor me, they charge me to look at their product. And they will make me feel like it's my fault somehow. I continue to wear the ones from 15 years ago and my Arch and plantar fasciitis has been much improved. Yet I cannot use the ones from Desert Foot and Ankle. Don't bother leaving a message they don't call you back. I ask for the office manager and she's busy. The only way to get anyone's attention is to schedule appointment. I will plan to go for the third time and I will bring them in a bag. Likely I will say keep them and keep my thousand dollars. I really don't believe they care or want to fix. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Making for years. He has performed 2 foot surgeries for me. He is awesome! My issue is with the office staff. I have left 3 messages over the past month to try to make an appointment with Dr. Making as I am having trouble with my foot again. NO ONE has called me back. Thank you Desert Foot and Ankle I had a 3pm appointment with Dr Harrill. I was seen on time. Met with the nurse, she gathered information. We decided that I needed a couple x-rays. After the x-rays Dr. Harrill came in to see me. Clearly he recieved a good brief from his nurse. He took time to listen to what I was experiencing. I could see while I was speaking to him, he was listening. That was so refreshing. I did not feel like a customer that was being pumped through the office. Dr. Harrill did an examination. We went over the x-rays. He gave me a couple options. I chose both. A day later, WOW. I feel so much better! Walking without pain. Thank you Dr. Harrill. The doctors here are great. Dr. Maling saved my left foot a few times now. The staff is good, busy but good. Because of the good work done to their patients the office is full but to me it's worth the wait. They must be good because they have many patients there. I have been coming to this practice for over 15 years. I have flat, wide feet, with bunions that require prescription orthotics. Dr. Harrill is very kind and knowledgeable and explains everything in a way that helps a patient understand their options. They can do x-rays in the office and scan your feet digitally for custom orthotics. They have also recently moved into a larger office space in the same building. The waiting room area is 3 times as big as the old one and there is a restroom available for patients in the office. The previous restroom was one that was shared with other offices in the building. All of the office employees and medical assistants that helped me were very polite and helpful. read more

I called and set up an Appointment with Dr. Mailing..I was a bit surprised when I went to my appointment and was told he is never at the Phx location..I take a bit of blame because I made one appointment online then called to make one so there was some miscommunication..However I met Dr.Phiper and he took plenty of time answering every crazy question I had about my foot.. I did not wait long at all to see him and he explained to me in depth about my foot issue.. I was never pressured to schedule surgery, yet I felt completely comfortable with doing so shortly after my appointment because the Dr. is Knowledgeable, Kind, and above all honest about my procedure and expectations. I have not experienced any rude behavior from the staff. I even had a nice conversation when I called to set up my surgery, the lady was so nice and even took time to talk to me about some personal fears I had (definitely not part of her job) Very appreciated!!!! I will update my process as I move along to my surgery day.. I already have another appointment they scheduled for me to see the Dr. again to go over everything and any last minute concerns I have before my "Big Day". This Dr was my 2nd opinion and although the office is not as fabulous as my 1st opinion dr. the knowledge Dr Phiper has displayed exceeded all the office decor!! The office is extremely clean and peaceful!! I wanted to leave a review because well, that's what I do and it's scary to have any type of surgery so you always want to be in the best of care and I definitely feel I am!!! I will close by saying I understand why some of the reviews people say they had long wait times... these are not "Fast Food"Doctors they actually appear to understand being nervous and take the extra time needed to calm and educate the patient fully so we are left to make the best decision for our self..I will be in Nursing School by the end of this year If all goes well and I would love to work with Doctors that take time and not rush.. Because of horrendous health insurance problems I now have, he was able to give me some alternative ideas. I also had to have an injection in my ankle and his technique is really good. I was told I was in network by the front office admin so I set up an appointment. I had met my deductible for that year and was very selective about making sure I would see someone in my network. Turns out a year later they said I'm not in their network and I owe the full amount. I think this was very reckless and unfair considering I did my research and selected a place that was in network with my insurance. I wonder if there are others out there like me who were the recipient of financial medical negligence. read more

I really really want to give this place a 5 star because Dr. Harrill is a great Dr. but the staff is not good. First off, last year I was in a lot of pain with my feet. I thought I might of had a bone spur in my heel because of where the pain was at. I checked with my insurance to see if I would need a PCP referral which I did not. I call over there and the girl says "you need a referral from a PCP" I said, no I have this insurance and I don't need one, she said yes you do and was very rude. So I hung up and called my insurance to double check. Yep...nope don't need a referral. I called back and let them know that my insurance said I didn't need one and finally made the apt. I get in there and Dr. Harrill took x rays and did an exam and said it wasn't bone spurs but a build up because of the plantar faciitis and that I could get shots in my feet to correct it. Awesome. Got the shots my feet were fine for awhile. While exercising I was doing lunges and the muscled in my feet snap. I later found out that the shot he gave me can weaken muscles and it's not good to do certain exercises for awhile. So, bad on my part for not knowing or bad on his for not telling me? Idk. Dr. Harrill then fit me in the next day and I got a boot for my foot I had to wear for like a month to heal my foot. After that was done he suggested therapy but didn't say I needed it. I started all of this April or May 2018, the last time I saw Dr. Harril was July 2018. With everything My bill is about $500 and my insurance was supposed to cover some of it. They keep billing me and I call back to see where they are and nothing is getting done. It is now Feb almost March 2019 and they keep sending me bills saying "THIS IS THE 3RD ATTEMPT TO COLLECT THIS BILL" When I have been calling since I left their office almost every month to keep up on the bill so they don't send it to collections. Every time I call no one calls me back, the last billing lady I talked to was super rude and kept interrupting me. The main girl in billing Amanda is nice when you can get a hold of her. I feel like they see my number and ignore me because I will call at different hours and they never answer. Ridiculous. I need to go back and see Dr. Harrill because my feet are not good but I don't want to keep piling on the bill. read more

Dr Mailing is the most amazing foot surgeon. He has done 2 surgeries on my son and one on my daughter. His bedside manner is A plus!

BEWARE - READ BEFORE YOU GO HERE! TRUST ME. I'm flat-footed and now that I'm in my mid-30's, my knees just don't hold up like they used to. So, I decided to get some orthotics... 1.Dec 18th. Dr. Harrill took some molds. I had major surgery earlier in the year, so my deductibles were already met (Blue Cross Blue Shield) 2.Given that, I wanted two pairs of orthotics so I don't have to swap every time I change shoes. I was planning to purchase the second pair without co-insurance. Doc was cool with that. He said now is the time to make a second pair. 3.Paid co-pay that day and was told 2-3 weeks they'll be ready. I had a trip to hike Grand Canyon in February. 4.I never heard from them. I waited double, called to check 6 weeks later (first week of Feb) 5.Lady was extremely rude when I asked on the status. She said "Listen, like you were told, they take 2-3 months. We will call you when they are ready". She was very curt and seemed annoyed. That phone call took about 40 seconds. 6.They never called - hiked the Canyon without. Had to hit a CVS and got some Dr. Scholls. They did okay, but not the same. 7.After my trip came and went and I let another month go by. Called in early March to check again. 8.Lady said they'd been sitting on the shelf for quite some time. WTF? 9.So confused. Told her I'd come pick up right away 10.She then informed me that my orthotics in fact, weren't ready. 11.I was told the molds were still sitting on the shelf. 3 months and they never sent them in to be made!!! 12.I was super confused. I asked why they hadn't been sent in and she stumbled through a stuttering answer that didn't make any sense. She then asked if I'd like them sent in. 13.I said YES, please have them made, but I want to make sure the insurance stuff is ironed out. Since this was a new deductible year I needed to make sure I wasn't getting dinged for their stupidity. 14.She said that I'd have to pay for them if my deductible hadn't been met yet in 2013. 15.I immediately told her "not to do anything" and that "I'd be coming over to the office later that day" to figure this out. I arrived at the office a few hours after I hung up the phone. 16.Get this - she threw them out! I stood at the counter with a look of astonishment. I asked her when she threw them away and why. She said "I threw them away after you called. You said don't send them in to be made, so I tossed them" 17.Now I'm fired up. I laid into her a bit and reiterated that I had told her "Don't do ANYTHING" and that "I'd be there TODAY". 18.I asked her why I'd want them thrown away after I paid my co-pay, called twice to see if they were done yet, and made a special trip over there. She spewed a bunch of bullshit back-peddling that was barely comprehensible. 19.The situation escalated to a point where the doctors, and all the admin and nurse practitioners were there. 20.Apparently, I needed to start over and have more molds made! I could not believe what I was hearing. 21. I told Dr. Harrill that I'd just go somewhere else and eat the co-pay. 22.Doctor Jason Harrill actually called me about 15 minutes after I left. He felt bad and told me to come back when I had time and he'd make them for me at his cost (or cover what Blue Cross doesn't cover). 23.It's now May and I've got another hiking trip planned for Memorial Day, so I scheduled an appt to go back and have more molds taken. 24.When I saw Dr. Harrill for the third time, he didn't remember me/the ordeal. I had to remind him who I was, what happened, and had to walk him and the nurse through the story, again. He assured me he'd cover the cost due to the fiasco. 25.They didn't get done before Memorial day, so I had to Dr. Scholls one more time. 26.They finally arrived in June and were four sizes too large 27.Had to cut them with scissors. Tried to shape them to fit inside my shoes - did an okay job. How lame that I had to size and shape my new orthotics. 28.For the kicker. They only made one pair! I'm not sure why, but I only got set.Now I'm back to swapping to and from by golf spikes, sneakers and dress shoes. 29.It's now September and I'm getting collection calls. No joke. 30.I tried calling the billing number listed on their website, but the company that answered said they don't handle their billing. 31.Finally got the bill - here it is - http://cl.ly/RPgS. They billed me for both pairs!!!! 32.What more? They double billed for the the exam and the casting on Dec 18th. ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME DR. HARRILL???? Just because I wanted two pair does NOT allow you to double bill for the one exam and one casting you turd! 33.In addition they billed again (3rd time) for the visit in May because THEY threw the molds away. Total of $939.79! Get real. No only am I not paying you, but I will make sure BCBS receives a call on this one. DO NOT GO HERE. They are crooked, ignorant, rude and incompetent. read more

I called Desert foot and ankle to take care of a bill and they connected me with their financial services. A lady who clearly doesn't like her job was rude and snippy for no reason when I was just asking questions because I didn't know Where to find the doctors name on my bill which it turns out she didn't need she just needed the name of the establishment. Thankfully my mother taught me manners and I was still nice and respectful but I will never go there because your employees represent your company and she was not someone I would want to associate with. What an awful experience and all I wanted to do was pay a bill. If you don't like your job don't take it out on the people who come to get or pay a service. Dr. Mailing has done two foot surgeries for me, the last being 8/2020. He's very attentive and approachable, answers all my questions, and throughly explains procedures. Dr. Mailing has also done foot procedures for my daughter, niece, and my sister-in-law. All experienced the same professionalism and courtesy. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

They called me into the room and there i waited for 90 minutes before the doctor (Pipher). Came in. I went back two weeks later and waited 45 minutes before walking out. People walked thru my room to get to the other side, the staff was laughing and dancing in the office and so unprofessional. Won't go back read more

First of all, there is no ultra sound machine in this office that I am aware of. My experience was that good options were not offered to resolve the situation given my fairy heavy activity level. read more

The Dr. I see is great but the front office staff are rude and so unfriendly! I am only sticking around because this is the only doc that was able to find out the problem I was having in my foot. read more
