Brand new set of acrylic nails and they look absolutely awful. All of my nails are different shapes and lengths. They are super thick. First time I've ever gotten my nails done where they didn't touch my cuticles or use any lotion. Really over priced for the poor product. I had to show the picture of the shape I wanted several times and still didn't get close to it. I asked the girl to re-file them several times and they still look so bad. There is polish on the tips of parts of some of my nails and not others. The length is so uneven and the polish is lumpy...I'm embarrassed. These pics were taken 24 hours after the appointment and I've already made an appointment elsewhere to have these terrible things fixed. Very disappointed and do not recommend this place. To be fair, the place seemed clean and the people were friendly. Also, this was one person and there's a lot of others that work there. I feel that since I had to wait over 30 minutes for my 'appointment', that it's still more first come first serve and the staff just work as fast as possible and probably don't care if they are doing it right. read more

This salon likes to up-sell the gel polish, I get it, you're here to make money. However the last 3 consecutive visits, after refusing gel, the tech asks why and states that everybody gets gel, why no gel? Because I said no gel, rude. I just want to caution any dad or mom out there that wants to treat their teenage daughter to a mani-pedi at Star Nails. My wife booked my daughter an appointment for prom, discussed exactly what she wanted, and what the estimated price would be. She then gave my daughter very specific instructions about what she had booked. My daughter repeated verbatim (even wrote it down to make sure she didn't mess it up) and got her mani-pedi (with no prep or cuticle treatment - I've bought enough of these for my wife and daughters to know that that is part of prepping the nails). They also did not give her an updated price until it was finished and she was at the register. Long story short, my daughter called me upset and embarrassed because they charged her $40 more than we had agreed to! And she was so anxious about an awkward situation that she called me as soon as she left. I went to the store to speak with them. Surely it was just a mistake. So, I'm leaving with no $40 refund, they swear they didn't take advantage of her, and with an accusation that maybe she's not telling me the truth about adding extras on. Walked in on a Friday they were able to see my mom an I right away. They started my pedicure right away but didn't even start my mom's water till my pedicure was almost finished. They charged me 5.00 extra for the sand OPI nail polish which makes no sense. You don't have to do anything special and doesn't cost more to buy. Of course they didn't tell me till they were about to paint my toes. The girl missed a couple spots on the sides of my nails. $37.00 for a basic pedicure is ridiculous especially in Warren, Ohio. I live in California and can get one with a hot stone massage for $25.00. I haven't lived here in years but I'm sure there is other places to go that are cheaper and do a far better job. read more

Been going there for a year and a half and went there today for a new set, which is also the day before my engagement pictures. I don't even wanna show my ring off in them. I asked for oval and most are misshapen. Only 4 are oval, the rest more square than anything. Every single one of them start the width of my nail bed, then we're files smaller the further away they got. 2 are crooked. The lady put the acrylic on way too thick. After asking 3 times to thin them out, she did, but then got the crappiest attitude after and rushed me out the door. She didn't even thin them out and now several have divets in them. I was so upset when I left. When I calmed down and called back, they told me there was nothing they could do. Never going back. Not showing my ring if for engagement pictures. One bad experience can ruin any future business of not only the upset customer, but also all the referrals sent their way. read more

Love my nails, but had a horrible experience. I used to go here every few weeks to see my nail lady Abby but she moved not to long ago. I recently went back and the guy I got was very rude and pushy. I sat down and asked him if he had this nail color I found on Pinterest and he replied with "we don't carry old colors did you not look at the colors we have you'll have to find something similar" first of all this color I found online had a name and their colors have numbers and I'm not a nail tech so not really sure what old colors are. So I looked back at the colors and I said can I do this color with a shimmer on top and he argued with me. He then wanted to try to show me colors through the glass so I would settle fast. He didn't talk at all and has ear buds in the whole time. The old staff was very nice but the ones there now are extremely rude and not to mention the prices are ridiculous. I paid 60$ for gel polish. Never again will I be back. read more

I felt that the female employee who did my pedicure was completely RUDE and OBNOXIOUS! She never greeted me after I sat there for 20 minutes. She just sat down and started digging at my feet. She was talking in a foreign language and laughing in front of my Mom and I to make us feel like we were the butt of someone's joke for 45 minutes straight! My Mom was having a nice conversation with the male pedicurist and this lady just kept interrupting. Not only that, but I feel as though they used the fact that we were unknowledgeable about gel pedicures and kept pushing them on us ONLY to dig deeper into our pockets. I declined 4 times - even when the other female pedicurist next to her tried to push it on me too. For these reasons, I will never step foot in this salon again, and I will tell my friends and family to do the same. This was NOT a relaxing or enjoyable experience at all! All I ask is that you take what I have said into consideration and at least train your staff on COMMON COURTESY and DECENCY. read more

I had been going to fancy nail salon.. and after about six visits, I was not happy with the whole experience.. I had been nicked and bleeding numerous times up by my cuticle..And it would become red, inflamed, and look infected... I'm usually pleased with their work, but the last visit was annoying . I waited about 20 minutes for a nail tech and then the guy rushed through, he made my nails paper thin( one broke the next day) and he didn't polish the whole nail and only one coat ! The next day I ran in to get my nail fixed and I waited 20 minutes for a nail tech, this made me angry bc it was only 2 customers and 5 nail techs! They were all occupied with their phones, doing each other's nails or simply sitting in the pedicure chair with earbuds in! I finally get the guy and he shaped my nail so horribly that I went home after work and took off my polish that was chipping and then reshaped them. Hello ~ I am here to report that Star Nails on Elm Rd in Warren, OH does not care about your health, only how much money they can get!! I have had an orthopedic surgery and with that comes along, if you get an infection it goes strait to that orthopedic replacement which creates a whole set of other problems. Example: when I go to the dentist I have to take an antibiotic an hour before my appointment, to make sure that if I get an infection I am protected. I have to do this the rest of my life. When I went into Star Nails on Elm Rd. in Warren, OH, I took my own set of tools knowing they where sterilized, I told them and when the technician came to do my pedicure she started opening a pack with unused tools. I told her I had my own. She used them but said they did not work as well as hers would. I paid and I also tipped. I went in today, not bringing my tools (they do not work as well) expecting them to open up a new pack of tools. I cannot take any chances. I asked for a pedicure with no polish, because I will not be wearing sandals often. The technician tried to talk me into a pedi spa. I just wanted a regular pedicure? I noticed she did not have a packet with tools that were not used, she was getting ready to spray some stuff on nail clippers that were open? I asked for the packet of unused tools, and explained my situation. She looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about, went and spoke to another technician and pulled a plastic container of tools and brought them over and said they were hardly used? I mentioned again the last time I was in the technician opened a packet of unused tools, I received a look like she did not understand, and I said I do not want this for fear of getting an infection, I gathered my things and left. I feel because I was not there to spend the amount of money they expect they pretended to act like they did not understand my situation. I am contacting their corporate! read more

My sister said I don't want my little sister to have get just a color and a design. So she starts getting the gel light and I said my sister said no gel and she said yes she did and I said very angry NO SHE DIDNT! I was 8. They always remove couple of your nails so your bill will always more expensive than their advertised price. I got my nails there by "old-looking, skinny, wrinkled" guy. I think his name is Eric. He is the new owner of Star Nails. I have been coming here for a long time, but the old team of nail techs no longer work there, but against my better judgment, I decided to give the new team a try and it was a mistake. Do not come to this guy!!! He made my nails super thick and extremely wide. The worst thing is, after 3 days, they started to lift a lot and my fingers were throbbing. After 1 week, 5 of my nails turned green. I had to go to another nail shop to get rid of these ugly nails. His wife, Angie, she is sweet to talk to, but she can only give manicures. Eric the new owner has done my nails my last few visits. He is awesome! He is a perfectionist, which I love and wants to make sure you are pleased as a customer. I have been going to Star Nails since I was 16,I'm now 23. I have never had a problem up until this year. The last 5 times I went there a week after having my nails on I have had multiple pop right off and they have been having bumps on them so they're being lazy filing them..I have had to have 3 new full sets put on in less than a year...I could understand if I did hard labor but I am a cashier and there's no excuse for this!
