Very reasonable price for the value. They are a studio where you can go and paint bisque and be creative. Nancy is very helpful as well. They offer classes where you can learn how to throw clay bowls with instructions for a reasonable price. The best part about it is that your work is fired in the kiln overnight and is ready for pickup the next morning at no extra charge. For a family of 4 like mine... very reasonable (under $50) and fun afternoon activity. If you are spending any time on the Bagnell Dam Strip, be sure to stop by and be creative for yourself. Table Rock Art Guild & Gallery was honestly a solid stop. The place had character, the artists clearly care about their work, and there were some genuinely interesting pieces throughout the gallery. A lot of the collection leaned abstract ... not exactly the Beast's personal favorite style ... but art's subjective, and you could tell some people would absolutely love it. Even when a piece wasn't necessarily "my thing," there was still creativity and effort behind it that deserved respect. That's what makes galleries like this worthwhile. Local talent, different perspectives, and a place that actually supports artists instead of mass-produced wall filler from a furniture store. The artists showcased are constantly changing. Some are so-so, some are fantastic. Prices range from $10 on up. The displays are always different when I go in there to look around. The people who volunteer will tell you all about the artists displayed or recommend other artists you might be interested in seeing. The volunteers are there to educate and entertain you. The work displayed ranges from hand-thrown clay mugs, to jewelry, to woodwork, to oils, to watercolors, to photography and whatever your imagination can invent. The work is constantly rotated. The artists featured are from all around the area, not just local to the small town. Their rent is paid by purchases and volunteer donations. If you support art and culture, stop in for a look. You will certainly find something to tickle your senses. Don't forget to stop by Juanita's Mexican Restaurant next door for the best mole and homemade tamales. You might ask an Art Guild volunteer to join you for lunch!
