Exam was very thorough, everything was explained, and I didn't feel pressured. Cleaning was also very impressive, I'm very happy with the cleaning that Karen did.   I found my new dentist.

The problem was never that we refused to contact insurance ourselves. The issue was the office's unwillingness to help clarify obvious discrepancies or assist in resolving confusing charges related to treatments THEY recommended. When I visited the office, I asked reasonable questions about inconsistent insurance payments, unclear billing, and financial charges added during the insurance processing period. For example, insurance paid very different amounts for exactly the same treatment. The office simply printed out the insurance payment details and even agreed that it "didn't make much sense." However, when I asked if they could help double-check with insurance, I was repeatedly told that it was "my responsibility" to deal with insurance. Simply telling patients to call their insurance company is not the same as providing good customer service or billing transparency. What made the experience especially frustrating was the dismissive attitude throughout the conversation. In particular, when I pointed out that financial charges were being added before insurance had even completed processing the claims, I explained that the insurance payment timeline is between the office and the insurance company, and patients should only be responsible for the unpaid portion after insurance processing -- not finance charges on the full amount during that process. The response I received was essentially: "Well, it's your insurance. They paid us late, so you are responsible." I have honestly never experienced this type of billing practice anywhere else. Overall, this office felt far more focused on collecting money than caring for patients. This was reflected in the unclear, non-itemized invoices we received. If I had not gone into the office personally and asked for printed details, I would never have understood how these so-called "financial charges" were being calculated. Please carefully review your invoices if you visit this office. I truly hope this feedback encourages them to improve their billing transparency and customer service.

He actually charged me over $100 to meet with him in his office where I got his sales pitch about how some people need to come 3-4x a year for dental cleanings? The entire time I'm thinking I haven't been to a dentist in years but now I might need to go every quarter? And it would be one thing if it was a great service but I called for a cleaning and instead I got a sales pitch and an X-ray, so that we could schedule another appointment? The doctor was unable to numb me (which has happened before) but then he rushed through the filling while I was feeling the drilling and I'm still sore. I felt all the drilling. I didn't know I had a cavity before he told me but now I've been sore for months. When I checked out, his office asked me to pay the estimate payment in advance which honestly seemed crazy expensive. A few weeks later I get another bill from citracado dental thinking it has to be a mistake I called their office, which is where I got screamed at that everyone charges the same around here. Which made me start asking around. No one I know has had a similar experience. I left a review on yelp. Which resulted in a call from citracado saying they wouldn't charge me the additional invoice if I'd remove the review (which seems illegal considering the insurance) and then they brought up my business which honestly sounded like a threat. Finally they wrote a response apologizing that I couldn't afford them. I'm not anywhere close to not being able to afford $800 I just know I shouldn't be paying that out of pocket after my insurance. Now I'm actually in a tremendous amount and f pain where the doctor drilled and I'm making another appointment with a dentist today.
