After I made the appointment, I received an email notification of the service I had scheduled. They gave me a one hour block. That was perfect because I hate when companies have me waiting during a 3 or 4 hour block. Ten minutes before arrival , I received a text message with the eta of the handyman's arrival. Sam was assigned to complete my service. He was very prompt. When I greeted Sam at the door he introduced himself in a very professional manner. It took him 45 minutes to mount the TV. He explained how it worked and did not leave a mess. He did a great job and I was very very pleased with his work. After two trips to Home Depot to get the tool needed to remove the old faucets, I realized these were not as easy as youtube led me to believe. I reached out to various plumbers as well as other construction and home repair companies and the results were pretty bad. Even with explanations and pictures I was told that it was $99 just for an estimate and up to $300 for each Faucet! Now not all of the companies replied this way but it was pretty astounding to me the cost. I then decided why not try a handyman and it turned out to be the best decision I could have made. I contacted Moises for help with a leaking shower faucet after the handle had become completely stuck from nearly 20 years of calcium buildup. I found The Affordable & Licensed Handyman through Yelp because they had great reviews so I was interested to see how much their service fee would be for a simple job when I was looking for a plumber. I needed a license plumber due to home insurance requirement to do this installation or I would've done it myself. They were responsive when I talked to them through Yelp projects. I was shocked with how much I was quoted because it was almost double the price of the automatic shut off valve device I paid for. So I had to confirm that the price that was given to me was just to switch out the bad unit with the new one. They didn't have to do anything else like run new pipes or replace anything else. When I communicated to them that the quote was high, they asked how much did i wanted to pay. I thought they would try to be more reasonable since the name is The Affordable. I give them a range based on the prices from other plumbing company that I reached out to and they couldn't do it which I understand they can set their own prices. Maybe for big projects, they'll give more of a reasonable price which is why they have great reviews on Yelp but just to replace a bad automatic shut off valve with a brand new one, I think it was overprice so I used another plumbing company where they were very reasonable on the price.
