After I got home, my wife noticed my right side looked spot on, the low fade on the left side however was uneven and the front also needed to be balanced. I went to this hair salon when i first moved. I got highlights and a trim. I'm not going to name the stylist i had but she was the best one there. It is sad to say she left. The whole vibe of the salon is off. Many of the GROWN ADULT women working there act extremely childish. While i was getting my hair cut i was opening up to my stylist about myself, i noticed i would be getting these disgusting looks from the other stylist. over all i can say that the enviorment is bad, the vibes are toxic and so is the owner. if you want to support a hairstylist DO NOT go to Jkellly's. the owner and 'co-owner' take 60% of the stylists income. read more

I had my reservations about getting my hair cut after having grown it for the past 10 years or so. Yes, I did have it trimmed but not cut until today. My hair was almost to my waist. Ella Ling made me feel comfortable, asked a couple of questions and then proceeded to give me a new style wi a simple cut. She was incredibly professional, courteous and friendly. Well I must say No One understands what I want. I wanted previous color mishap fixed in three places. Operator could not see the problem and decided to do highlights which turned out yellowish and became a solid color with no real highlights, toned x2. They did re-tone, but now I have no highlights at all. I will wait for it to grow a bit and go somewhere else. All for $100, not happy and it took 21/2 hours. The salon is nice and they clean everything, sorry I didn't get what I hoped I would get. read more

My hair was completely damaged at this other salon and I was heartbroken. I mean, it was orange, felt like straw and was almost completely dead. My family is from Temple and has always been going to J Kelley's for years because of how amazing the girls are there. I went to Emily, a new girl from Austin, and she is INCREDIBLE!!! she brought my hair back to life and I'm obsessed with it. She is honest about what your hair needs and completely tells you what the problem is with your hair and what she thinks would look best. You HAVE to go see her if you want amazing hair. The front desk staff were friendly and the hair stylist Ali was great. I went in to get some color in and it turned out beautiful. A couple months later and it still looks wonderful. She was fast and efficient and explained what she would be doing and her recommendations as to what would be best for my hair. I appreciate her word of advice and took it. The only thing I would say to help improve is to be a bit more gentle when combing through and drying (hand held) someone's hair. Not everyone's hair is the same so trying to brush through quickly because more clients show up in the lobby isn't ideal. But besides that, I like the atmosphere and stylists. read more

I chose this salon because I heard it had been around for awhile an knew a few people who went here but after my first experience here, I was very unsatisfied. I am a natural brunette and love to keep my hair blonde but when I went for just a simple touch up for blonde full highlights, i walked out with completely white roots with my rest of the hair remaining my blonde. There was such a contrast in color and I looked so weird with bright white roots with my regular blonde hair. It was very noticeable. The only thing I could think of is she must have kept me under that heating hair chair dryer for too long since she also scheduled another full highlight with another customer and was working with her hair while I was sitting having my hair fry. Now I am having to go into the city with having to pay for a color correction since not many salons offer that particular service in this area. The staff all had stuck up faces especially the front desk ladies. Maybe because they were all young I'm not sure but I just had a plain bad experience here. read more
