I bought a boat form this guy on an auction site (relying on pictures and his "honest" description), what a mistake. He forgot to mention that the boat had sank, at least up through the engine compartment. Everything in the transom was frozen (steering, trim, nuts, bolts etc) and the engine was so bad none of the bolts even had heads left to take apart. The deck was rotted and soft all around the engine hatch, also not in the description.
There were hundreds of dollars worth of missing parts that they promised to send me and I naively trusted him to do. For two months he sent me excuses about why he couldn't send me the parts (he lost my address - after I sent it to him several times in emails, The parts were even lost in the mail - not very original, I am surprised he didn't tell me his dog ate them).
He finally agreed to send me a check for some of the "missing" parts, I actually received the check and left him positive feedback, too bad the check bounced! I am sure there are honest boat dealers in Old Saybrook Ct with integrity, This is not one of them, save yourself the trouble of buying anything from these guys,
Was I the first to get taken by James Johnston (Marine)? I doubt it, I also doubt I will be the last. read more
