Some college age patrons began a political discussion with me, in good faith, I believed. They did…read morenot like the answers they recieved from me and then took it upon themselves to go to a manager, I think, and claim that I had used racial epiphets aimed at one of the group who started the discussion. This never happened, and I have never used, to the best of my memory, any name calling in discussions since I was a young idiot of 15 years. Nevertheless, the manager, instead of finding out what really happened, took the dissatified student at her word and began yelling agressively towatds me. I was gobsmacked as I had no idea what I had done. I, in my confusion, was explaining my innocence and pointed out that I thought we were having a good faith discussion. The entire time acting calm and confused as to what I had done, and repeating my innocence, as I do NOT use racist names and thought we were just discussing a situation that had little effect on our lives. This fell on deaf ears for the manager(?), as he continued to yell at me (totally uninterested in hearing what I had to say) and demand I leave. He brought with him two bouncers despite him being the only one speaking with a raised voice. I was not acting violent or agitated. In the meantime the college student who I thought wanted to have a good faith discussion up until 5 minutes previous was claming, behind his back, that I had used a racist name that I have nevet heard in my life before it was on Breaking Bad, the series. This was a very uncomfortable and frightening situation for a man suffering from PTSD. It was all I could do to keep control and talk in a measured tone to the agressive manner showed me. I was thankful that the entire group was thrown out by the owner, I think, as I had been cordial and jocular and did not actually want to discuss politics or the middle east when out on the town and enjoying myself. However the agressive manner showed me as a guest from another country convinced me that anyone I know should stay away from the Lone Goose Saloon because college students will lie in order to get anothet patron kicked out with whom they don't agree. And that the manager should immediately side with the lying student and act agressively to a patron who was acting perfectly normal, even after he was yelling and agressive, tells me he is either naive or stupid or both. Or does he think all young women tell the truth? Perhaps he should look into the matter and both sides before he stars yelling at a person who has seen death and destruction as well as behaving himself amicably. I will not be recommending this bar to anyone.

Let me start with the first week I tried to get inside. I was wearing red and gray SB Nike Dunks(picture below). The security guard said to me that the shoes had exotic colors and I couldn't get them. When a white woman in an all-red sweater walked in right passed security I asked if is red an exotic color or if is it just an exotic color for black men. He proceeded to say the dress code only applied to men. I knew then that their racism was in full effect. I came back a few weeks later and made sure my dress was up to code to these ridiculous standards. The same security guard stopped me and said my JORDAN 11 "cool greys" (pictured below) were patent leather and they were too shiny. I debated with him for a while and asked for his manager. The guard flagged down the police as if I was stealing or robbing him because I asked him to speak to someone above him. He also stated, "how dare you tell me what I can do". This statement made it seem like he was in a hierarchy and I was less than them. Jim Crow has been abolished for years now but places like this still enforce some of the same rules. They need to be shut down and bought out by people who want to have a good time and want business from all shades sizes and colors. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RACIST SLEEZY PLACE.

When we got into the parking lot, we thought they were closed - not a car in sight. But I saw a tiny open sign and insisted that between that, and the hours on their website, they must be open. My friend and I insisted differently. She went in and, guess what? They really were open! When we walked in and saw a sign for happy hour. Bonus! We were set. We each bought a draft for a dollar off and purchased a few of the $5 apps. The garlic knots are noted in several reviews so that was a no brainer. We also ordered the beer cheese with pretzels and our friends ordered the spinach dip with tortilla chips. I can't tell you how many beers there were, let's just say plenty. The beer was icy cold, perfect for another 95 degree day. Yelp didn't disappoint, the garlic knots were soft, pull apart deliciousness. The accompanying pizza sauce was just ok. The beer cheese as good. The accompanying pile of soft pretzel bites would have been better without so much salt. I didn't try the spinach dip. Nobody else seemed very thrilled with it. It came with tortilla chips - I don't know what kind they were but even they didn't look good. Beer Hog is designed for fun. Pool tables, dart boards, a small arcade, indoor corn hole and an array of daily activities including Harry Potter trivia night, line dancing night and live music on the weekend. There was quite a bit of patio area which will be great once our inferno weather pattern breaks. There are a couple rooms available to rent for various size events. We spoke with one of the 3 owners. The three of them designed and built out the entire interior. The owner we spoke with told us how they built the bar and every table in the building. They did a great job identifying and executing the unusual repurposing of the old library. Now that school is restarting, patrons need to mindful of afternoon traffic. If you don't know Hughes Road, just know it's a zoo when all of the schools let out. We'll definitely be back. The garlic knots alone are enough to guarantee that.

I think it was salsa dancing, but it may have been west coast swing at the EB. Her daughter had the time or day wrong and there was no class, but we all enjoyed a nice visit there. Because it was Wednesday, the bar at EB featured the "Drink Exchange at The Electric Belle, " which according to their website is, "the most ELECTRIFIED take on the bar menu yet, The Drink Exchange at The Electric Belle is your opportunity to influence the market with your tab, buy your favorite drinks low, and when the market crashes EVERYONE WINS! Wednesday nights inside The Electric Belle. OPEN 5PM-10PM - MARKET BELL RINGS AT 6PM!" Well, alrighty then, what this meant for me as I ordered a pinot grigio at the bar is, a TV to the far right of the bar displayed some stock market graphics affiliated with drinks maybe??? My SS found it interesting and was explaining it to me, anyway, I zoned out regarding the explanation because it was too cerebral for me at the moment. We missed the market bell ring because we got there around 7:30. Back to the Belle. It's a nice event space! Nice shiny concrete floors, I think it had a stage and a large projection screen was set up in a corner. There is outdoor seating which was nice on this lovely evening and the landscaping is nice, too. It's on the western most side of Stovehouse which I had never explored before, and I didn't see any nearby parking. The bartender was nice, the wine was good and at a good price point, and the space itself was fresh, clean, and modern. Outside the immediate area of EB is not well lighted, and for some reason, the restrooms in the area [not in EB proper - still in Stovehouse] were locked {??}, so there's that. I should have asked the bartender if they had restrooms inside EB. Do try EB, they have some interesting events on their calendar, west coast swing, disco night, zombie prom, and age 21 and over entertainment such as Dave Anderson and Ben Luthy, both of which are free shows which is super nice!
