I had a scheduled appointment for a pedicure and ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes for them to even begin. The service then took over an hour and the results were AWFUL. I have nail polish in my cuticles and had to have errors fixed twice. The quality of the nail polish they use is baffling considering it looks old and potentially watered down? I easily could have done a better job just doing my pedicure at home. So disappointing because it hasn't always been like this here. Pedi chairs line both the north & south ends of the shop (approximately 20 chairs), the nail stations are plentiful as well; positioned in the center aisle and well equipped with necessary drills, powders, heated hand gloves, lamps, lotion & oils. They have a great OPI selection of polishes (my preferred brand) so they're WINNING! in the color category. So bad! I've been several times unfortunately. The staff is fine but the quality is awful. I've had a problem every single time I've gone. I get my nails done religiously every other week, if I can't get into my normal stop I'll hop around because I don't do anything complicated, just dip on my natural nails. Oh JC nail. This place is so close to my house you could throw a stone and it it, but I never realized what treasure was there. My friend Amelia referred me for pedicures and eyebrow/ lip/chin waxing (don't judge we all have it). I'm just not a manicure girl, never have been. You have street parking available or turn on to the street by Penn Station for back lot parking. The door is accessible is in the front and back which is great. Street parking also available. When you walk in it looks like a typical nail salon. Posted pictures to show the area. Decent amount of pedicure chairs and manicure tables BUT at no point have I ever seen them to be staffed for that to be at max. I'm not sure why they don't have more employees. The nail techs are super nice, do an amazing clean job, and are efficient yet effective and provide quality work. If you don't like it they redo it no problem. Or if you get it smudged like within a day, take it back and they'll fix it for you!! The owner is super sweet and I am very happy with this as my go-to nail salon and waxing! I will be back!! I made an appointment for a dip manicure and pedicure. I was there for 2 hours which is excessive. The lady that did my pedicure hurt and didn't seem to care that I told her that she was hurting me. So... I wasn't super pleased with the pedicure but my toenails look good so whatever. Then I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to do my manicure. I guess the person that did my pedicure can't do dip nails? I don't know but I do appreciate that they put me with someone that knew that they were doing, it just sucks that I had to wait so long and people were being taken ahead of me for the same thing. I was disappointed with the lack of variety of dip powder colors to choose from. My nails look good though and I like them better than a previous experience with dip that I had somewhere else. Despite the issues, I would go back. I would make an appointment on a different day and see if that changed anything. My biggest complaint was that their pedicure chairs are so close together that it's uncomfortable. They could afford to get rid of a few to space them out better. Never again. I've been going to this salon for nearly a YEAR. I scheduled a mani/pedi for my wedding. I still waited AN HOUR. As if that weren't bad enough, I didn't get the manicure I asked for. To top off the whole experience, my GEL manicure lasted less than 4 days. I had to file one nail when I got home, broke another before bed, and chipped my first nail before the wedding. I have been a loyal customer to JC for many years until today. I signed in and told there would be a wait, which I though was odd considering there were only two other women in the salon. That's fine, I get it. I then wait for 30 minutes, while five employees sat around on their phones! When another customer came in asking for a manicure and was sat immediately, I nicely told the worker that I had been waiting for half an hour to be helped. The diamond pedicure was amazing, I highly recommend it. It left my feet and legs so smooth and removed so much dead skin. I love this place. The staff is very friendly and even recommended a better quality nail polish that would last longer (OPI) when I happened to pick a different brand. My nail technician found the same color I wanted in that better quality, which was super cool and didn't cost more. She was just genuinely offering me better nails! I've been here several times, and since I am super clumsy while leaving/getting out my keys/flinging my hands around, sometimes I smudge a nail or two and come back in and they happily redo it. Once I even broke my acrylic off after I got it caught on a lock and it was fixed free of charge. I cannot imagine the type of people who come onto yelp, say they've been loyal customers for years, just to leave a bad review about ONE encounter they had. And the audacity and entitlement of people who think they are so important that the workers can't talk amongst themselves or on their personal phones while working! (there's literally a picture of a man working on his cell phone. This woman took a picture and posted it "hmm on his private cell phone while working") Who in the world do you think you are? During my first visit the woman who did my pedicure left sharp, unpolished edges on my toenails (no biggie, just touch up at home). Liked it enough to come back. The second time however, was awful. I asked to do a green color (because I saw it during my fist visit) but they "don't have green." So I went with red. When I was moved over to the station from the pedi, THERE IT WAS, in plain sight. The green color I was asking for. Tom did my dip, asked me what shape I wanted. Almond/stiletto. He laughed at me and said I didn't have the nails for that shape. The top coat on my dip almost shrunk when it was dried, it left really uneven and weird unpolished spots on my nails. So I left with red toes and green nails... and I will never return. They also ask you a million questions before being able to come in, like "have you been to wheelhouse". Lol read more

Is there an option to leave a negative review? Although my service was adequate, the professionalism of the owner's daughter was severely lacking. Her judgment to talk about a potential guest after rushing her out the door for not calling to make an appointment, was very disappointing to witness. I guess the woman that walked in with 2 young girls, could have been preoccupied while walking in and could have missed the sign on the backdoor entrance. This place is super close to my house so I thought I would give it a try. The place was packed on a Sunday morning and I got there right when it opened. I got a shellac mani and regular pedi. The menu for the pedi was extensive with lots of choices and aromas. The prices were pretty reasonable. The actual pedicure was great and I have no complaints. The manicure on the other hand was less than great. The man doing my manicure barley watched what he was doing. I understand sometimes they accidentally cut your cuticles but this was ridiculous. My nail beds were bleeding pretty bad so that when they cleaned my nails before starting the shellac it burned! After the manicure I looked and you could Clearly see 5+ spots where I was cut and had dried blood. I'm not sure if I will Go back to this place but if I do it will see just be for a pedicure and skip the manicure! read more

So I decided on coming here for a *fill in & *pedicure . First they let me pick my polish. I was very impressed in there polish selection, they offered all the higher end professional polishes such as; O.P.I., Zoya, China Glaze, & Polish'N . There was also a small gel polish section. I decided on this awesome blue color from China Glaze. I sat in the pedicure chair, while I was presented with a book of about 20 different specialized pedicures that priced from $25-$45. I picked the classic pedicure, at the starting price. I can't remember the lady's name who performed the pedicure. But she did a awesome job, she really took her time nipping all the dead skin from around my toe nails. She massaged my feet for a decent amount of time. I wanted a flower design on my big toe, so I told her to do something cute. She painted a cherry blossom tree, her lines were very clean. I was pleased with the design. After my pedicure was done, another lady named Ana, started my fill in. I had long stiletto nails, I wanted to go to short square shape & she refiled them perfectly, and painted them beautifully!!My total was $48 ! I'm so happy with my nails and I will be returning there from now on. read more
