I stopped into John Robert's Spa with my friend for a facial. She's gone multiple times before, but…read morethis was my first time. The staff was very kind and welcoming when we arrived. While we waited to be taken back for our facials, we were offered coffee or tea. They have a special tea blend specifically for Aveda and it was so good! I ended up purchasing some before I left. Lol Luna did my facial and Summer did my friend's facial. We each got the 30 min facial. I think that's the perfect amount of time for a facial. They use Aveda products and everything smells so delicious. After my service, my skin was glowing. (And still is days later). So the reason why I gave 4 stars: 1) I felt the service was a bit on the pricey side for a 30 min facial. It was $80. That price won't deter me from getting another facial from here... but definitely not as often as I would if the price was a bit lower. The other reason I gave it 4 stars was that the receptionist ringing us out overcharged my friend. When my friend was trying to ask about it and explain why she thought she was overcharged, you could tell the receptionist was very confused and in the end it was just easier to let it go. Overall, this spa was great. Like I said, I will definitely come back, just not as often.

Front desk check-in/check-out doesn't have the same vibe, the customer service isn't great and doesn't feel genuine at all. I guess that's how you can treat people when you the only one in town. I spent over $300 there today. Next time I'm going to try the new-ish Woodhouse Spa.

I am posting this review a full year after my nails were ruined here 2 days before my wedding day…read more At the time, I was too distraught and busy with planning to take the time to write this review, but after a full year I still can't wrap my head around this experience and want to warn people away from this salon. I had heard great things about this salon! While I can't speak to the experience of getting your hair done here, I can speak to the nail experience and the lack of customer service following errors. My mom surprised me with a wonderful spa day 2 days before my wedding. I was so excited to spend the day with her. We had booked a mini facial, massage, and nails. The day was several hours long and a lunch was supposed to be included, but the day-of we find out that it's not and that our package had transferred from the previous salon/spa. So a lot of this experience is exacerbated by the fact that we were completely starving -- we got there around 9:30/10am and I didn't get home until 3pm, so not having a lunch was very unexpected. But I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and also understand that they were doing their best. The massage and facial were both fine. The really negative experience was my nails. Please look at these photos. These were taken as soon as I got home and is how I left the salon -- breaks and uneven nails and all. I've never in my life had a manicure so unbelievably and laughably bad, and the staff knew that these were my wedding nails. I did not ask for anything out of the ordinary -- just a standard gel mani with a French tip. Of course with my nails completely destroyed 2 days before my wedding, I left afterwards and had to fix them myself, because I couldn't get in anywhere else on such short notice and my weekend was obviously already pretty booked. Now, my mom gave her card info in advance for the package. Since it was already a pretty high stress situation and we had a lot of other planning details to attend to, my mom called a few days later after the wedding to tell them about the negative experience. Oh, I also forgot to mention that they charged us MORE than the originally agreed upon package price, despite not including lunch and completely botching my nails. So my mom calls and asks for at least a partial refund for my nails. They outright refuse. Please please please do NOT get your nails done here. Every nail tech I have shown these photos to has been completely aghast at how horrible these look. I could have done (and did end up having to do) better myself.

If you want to get your hair cut by someone who actively listens to you and has good communication…read moreskills do not go to this salon. If you have naturally textured hair that has curl or wave to it do not go to this salon. The cut you will get will butcher your hair in its natural state. Maria goes back and forth splitting her attention from one customer to the next. She will stop mid cut to go color another customers hair. She does not listen to what you want, she gets an idea in her head of what haircut you should have and does what she wants without even consulting you. I wanted a simple bob and I almost ended up with a pixie. My hair is uneven and sticking up at funny angles in the back which will take months to grow out. Maria is not only inconsiderate but she is also incompetent. If your hair is textured and you want someone to accommodate your needs do not get your haircut at this salon.

This was on New Year's Eve and I came from the same direction as her. She said it was due to traffic. I encountered no traffic on my drive. Definitely not 30 minutes worth. 2) I said take off 2 inches and she took off 3-4. Also, and most importantly, my hair is not the same length around. I spent $155 on a cut and color plus a generous tip only to discover a few days later that the left side is longer than the right. She also wasn't very professional but I won't go into that. Do NOT see Gina. Edited*** Now she is texting me at 10:10 at night because she doesn't like my review. And reporting me to Yelp? Lol for what? Telling the truth? Edited again Now Gina has her friends posting reviews for her. I think my pics speak for themselves. And the fact that a stranger who I've met once is harassing me because I left a bad review? That speaks volumes about the amount of class in this salon. I told her I'd take down the review if she refunded me for the price of the haircut (I told her she could keep her 25% tip). She agreed and then changed her mind and has been harassing me since. I had to block her number. Part of doing business is understanding you can't win them all. Some people will be happy and others won't. When you mess up someone's hair, you accept it and move on. Not at this salon. They'll bully you until you remove your review! Not. Going. To. Happen. Edited yet again (1/6/15 at 8:36am) Still getting harassed by dawn and/or Gina. The more they harass me the more I'll keep posting. Why? Because I refuse to be bullied into taking my review down. It's entirely accurate. This is what Yelp was created for. To leave reviews for businesses. I like that they call me a salon hopper like it's an insult. I went to the same salon for 12 years and left because of price gouging. In fact, Gina complained to me that Dino Palmieri wouldn't hire her and how she didn't like the the way they did business (among other things). Lol I'm a salon hopper because I'm looking for a new salon? Okay. Then I'm a salon hopper. This has gone from annoying to amusing. I actually agreed to remove my review if she refunded me the money for the cut. I didn't even ask for my $45 dollar tip back! Just the cost of the cut. She agreed to it and then changed her mind and started texting me at 10:00 at night.
