I believe she is a doctor who worked at the hospital and transitioned to open her own med spa. I love that she has extensive clinical experience OUTSIDE of the beauty world. It made me feel safe and like I was going to receive quality care no matter what. The procedure: She really took her time to understand my desired look. I was also open to her opinions and she helped me to create the perfect NATURAL pout. Pain wise (for me) I'd say it was 3/10. The numbing ointment really helped. Post-care: She sent me home with a post-injection serum. I actually think it really helped to get the bruising/swelling down quickly. You can see in my photos that by day 6 I was pretty well healed! Scheduling: While most spa's in Bend were booked 4 weeks out, Dr. Carey was able to fit me in the next week. She spent about 20 minutes on the phone to make sure she answered all of my questions. I felt safe and excited for my big day! The facility: It's the perfect combo of home-y & clinical. It is bright, clean, and is located inside of a cute little cottage in a great part of town. Parking was a breeze. Miscellaneous: Dr. Carey helped me pick out a few sunscreens & a retinol product. She has a great variety of brands and formulas. I've moved around a great deal and have always utilized this type of service. Thus, I've had plenty of experience (sugar, hard, cloth strips, tweezing...all that fun stuff). It seems that most of those "waxing" in Bend, use hard wax versus wax with cloth strips. The end result (in my experience) has been it takes longer (one must wait for the wax to harden), it leaves more wax residue (ugh...), it doesn't pull out the hair as well (I was told it works better for those "hard to get" areas...meh!), and really isn't any more comfortable (I've been told it's not supposed to hurt as much...there's just no getting past that part). Luckily, Jill uses cloth strips (what I'm used to, and has always seemed to work the best) and I must say....there was not one bit of waxy residue and there wasn't a single stray hair to be found. I was in and out in a jiffy and couldn't be happier. I can't recommend Jill highly enough! If a Brazilian is what you're looking for...well....this is the place!
