My kid and I stopped here in Cultus Lake to: 1. find a bathroom; 2. grab a quick bite; and, 3. to hike the Seven Sisters loop. So we found a freestanding bathroom structure in this parking lot and it was surprisingly clean with multiple stalls (separate facilities for men and women. Bonus!), and super well-stocked. We felt like we hit the jackpot! Nearby we saw this pizza place with a large outdoor patio and we decided to stop here for a quick light lunch. SO glad we did! Since it was early, we were the only people there. The servers were the NICEST girls. Very attentive and friendly. We ordered a soda (they have Diet Coke! Another bonus! So many places only have Pepsi, which I'm not a fan of), and a sub to share. It was like a Hawaiian pizza sub (don't judge! We love this pairing) and, I gotta say, it was very good. The bread was fresh and soft and the sauce was perfectly seasoned and the pineapple added a nice sweetness, and oh, there was lots of melty cheese, too. It just fit the bill. Perhaps it was a tad pricey for what you get (the sub was $17.10, and it wasn't that large), but yes, it was good and fresh, and the place was cute, and the employees were great, so no complaints here! read more

Let me first say being a 50 year-old man, I ate this pizza as a kid. I knew of Mike Vito who owned that place for a long time, that he had come from New York with his bag full of recipes and it was the best square pizza I've ever had in my life. Also went back when I went to college and it had the same great taste ala Mike. Just recently went back for a nostalgia trip to eat there and noticed that Mike's story was not only not on the menu but there was no decor left of his influence on the place. The location looked very similar, but once I got the pizza I understood the omission. It's served the same square style, but the pepperoni, salami and ham were not small and under cheese, but were heated stacked in a single round large serving slice on top with cheese underneath - a strange and off recipe way of doing it I had not yet experienced and was disappointed by. But most importantly was the sauce. The sauce has been altered in some way and just doesn't taste the same. Crust remains similar, but without the signature tang the pizza is no better than an average everyday shop pie. A shame because it was always the one place outside of great and iconic places like New York and Italy where you could get a pie that showed you what could be done with a pizza when made with love, care and the right ingredients. We came for a day trip to Cultus Lake and worked up an appetite after being on the water for a few hours. We noticed all the restaurants in the area are small, local businesses, which is what we like to support. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and portion size of the food we ordered! For the two of us we had the dinner combo: Half BBQ Chicken and Lasagna, which comes with salad and garlic bread. The Lasagna is massive! Perfect for the two of us and it was delicious and cheesy (they didn't skip on the ricotta either). I could tell everything was fresh and excellent quality, even down to the salad which is often neglected, but not here! The chicken was not dry and had just enough BBQ sauce to let the meat shine. The restaurant is a bit hidden behind the large red patio umbrellas, but the shade it provides is much needed on a beautiful, sunny day. I love outdoor patios (it's a must where I'm from) and I can see this place being perfect for the summer days. Next time I will try the pizza, but I still recommend this to anyone visiting the area. read more

I recently went to Beethoven and my friend and I order a medium pizza with two glasses of wine. My friend finished her glass of fine while I couldn't because there was a fly swimming around in my wine. On a summer hot day you can't sit anywhere else but outside - so when I told our server that I cousin drink my wine because of the wine she said she would try to do something. 2 mins passed by and the OWNER came to our table and said he couldn't do anything because the fly came FROM GOD and that he can take care of the fly by TAKING IT OUT WITH A SPOON. I was appauled I couldn't believe an owner said this. If he can say this about a glass of wine what else can he say about when it comes to real food. We left with paying for our bill. Amazing pizza! Thick soft crust and delicious toppings. We stop here for dinner every year after the water slides. Love the patio and friendly servers. Overpriced mediocre pizza with a miserable atmosphere! We walked in and placed an order for carry out, 2 medium pizzas and it was over $50, we were told by a waitress to get out of the way immediately after we ordered. So we sat and waited. the staff looked like they were having a bad day, everyone of them was miserable except the young lady working the till, even though she was getting snapped at by the grumpy waitresses. At one point a manager came out from in the kitchen, after yelling at a cook, with cheese in a bowl and walked over to a table where a family was eating and muttered something about how the cook had forgotten this, reached into the cheese bowl with his bare hands and stuck it in the mans plate! Beethoven's Pizza, Cultus Lake, BC, CANADA....the very best Pizza I have ever been served! I am allergic to garlic and also gluten intolerant.....as a result I cook most of my meals at home to avoid allergies. We were at Cultus Lake with an empty cooler so I called Beethoven's who offer gluten free crusts. What followed was a major event in my long life. I spoke with Hoda, the owner's wife, and asked if they could work with my food allergies. She spoke with her husband Najib and confirmed that they would meet my needs. When we arrived for dinner, Stephanie, the head waitress, took care of us, brought Hoda into the conversation, and the end result was, without exaggeration, the BEST gluten free pizza crust possible! It was thin, crisp and not hint of the 'glue' texture that I was used to with other GF crusts...the base was plain tomato sauce and the cheese and toppings were spectacular. This was the most positive experience dining out with my food allergies....and the service and attention to quality was second to none. I owned a popular waterfront restaurant many years ago...and we did our very best to please, meet our customer's needs as well as their expectations. What I found at Beethoven's was a team that met and exceeded mine....and with intent coupled with friendliness and smiles. If there was a chance to grade them 10 out of 5, I would do so. Their regular pizza's look amazing....and after sending my adult kids to enjoy one, they raved about it too! We were there yesterday and returned today, kind of like, 'pinch me so I know this is real'. I've eaten at this place a few times since I stay at Cultas lake every summer and all the times ive been to this place ive had the worst service ive ever had. Every time ive been their the waiters are always so rude and disrespectful. My first time their I had sat outside since it was very crowded inside, I waited for a waiter for about 7 min and when she finally arrived she asked what id like to order. The problem is that i never got a menu so when i asked for one she went inside to get one. instead of getting the menu the instead started talking to her friends for 5 min. when she finnaly gave me the menu i ordered a peperoni pizza. 15 min had passed and i asked the waiter if it was nearly done. she had told me that it hasnt been made. i asked whats taking soo long and instead of telling me why she instead tells me that im overeacting and that its been 5 min only. knowing that it wasnt i asked if i could get a coke becuase i was getting hungry. when she gave me my drink it was rootbeer. when i told her she scoffed at me and just left. So if you want overpriced food ( it was 30 for a medium pizza ) , and disgusting pizza ( the sauce and cheese just flopped off the dough and the crust was raw ) , and the worst service you will ever get, go here. i since started to just get pizza from the nearby fresh slice instead of their. TERRIBLE SERVICE! We called in and ordered 2 pizzas (one cheese, one pepperoni), and said we would pick up in 30 minutes. When we arrived, they said that they didn't have our order, than 3 minutes later said that they had just received our order, but it would be a 20 minute wait. We decided to chill and wait. When they gave us our pizza, they had given us the wrong order (pepperoni pizza and cheese bread). We told them it wasn't right, but we decided to take it anyway, rather than wait around for them to fix it (which they said would be another 20 minutes). We drove back to our campsite and about 20 minutes after arriving there, they called us to say our order was ready for pick up. We explained the whole situation, and they told us it was OUR fault for picking up someone else's order, but they would still comp us the cheese pizza we never got. 2 of us drove back into the village to get the pizza, and when they picked it up, they told us that we should've said the right name (which we had, repeatedly. Know we said the right name, because it was my name). I would rather drive into Vedder Crossing for pizza than EVER go back. The pizza was decent, but 1 pizza + cheese bread cost $35!! Friends rave about this place. Really? Most expensive Pizza place I've seen in ages. Large pizza is still small, left hungry and not willing to pop another $25 to fill us all up. Service was okay, pizza was okay - add an order of cheese bread (as per the last review) if you want to spend another $8.99 (steep considering the menu offers garlic bread for $2 something (better be $7 worth of cheese on it.)
