They should change the name to Tina's Wonderland Because Tina always gets things done. I struggled to find a good barbershop ever since I got out the military, Quality and good care is what I needed. I always get what I ask for. Even on a busy schedule, Tina will try to find time for you or let you know her earliest available. Phil is my go to Barber, Arguably the cleanest fades on this part of San Jose. My brother pays double the price and his fades are never as "peppery" as mine. Do not come here. Husband came in for a hair cut and a beard trim three weeks ago and two days after he started seeing dry flaky spots near his scalp/ beard. We're still dealing with the horrible rash this place gave him. There's no way they clean their equipment. Not sanitary. He says he didn't think anything of it at the time but he can't remember them cleaning the machines between cuts just taking a brush and dusting the hair off. read more

Been going to UPS and just noticed JBarber Shop. I went in to ask if I need to make an appointment beforehand for a haircut for my mom. The super friendly Tina, the owner, said yeah it's recommended. But, she told me today was not as busy, so I said I would bring my mom over in a couple hours. She then handed me a card with her numbers: one for call, one for text. So, 30 mins before going I texted her to let her know I will be coming soon. When we arrived, she greeted us cheerfully. And seated my mom. We then talked about the hair style and she proceeded. During the haircut, Tina talked to my mom and me to make sure the cut is to my mom's liking. Very caring. And Tina understands what type of haircut would suit a type of face. Been coming here since it's close to my house and job. Tina did a great job and actually knows how to barber men's hair pretty well unlike some other normal haircut places who just know how to clean up the sides. Tina and a couple of other hair stylists there have given me good fades/tapers and top cuts that fit my hair style and shape I want. I always trust there opinions. Be sure to ask for Tina. She does a professional level job for a very affordable price. I've been to 7 different barbers before I found her. Haven't wanted to move on since. She will take everything you give her for ref. Pictures, cartoons, anime pics, you name it, and she'll work with you to make your hairstyle fantasies a reality. Extra plus side is she also teaches you how to style your hair so you can start doing it on your own rather than having to see her to style it each time. And the work itself? I came in last week for a hair cut. My haircut isn't too difficult, it's pretty much a zero side fade and a frohawk on the top. This place is right down the street from where I live so I've been meaning to stop by. Last year when they opened up, they had a sign outside advertising the prices of haircuts and I could've sworn it was $18 for a men's haircut. I figured it should be around the same price this time around. When the lady was done, it didnt look right. And at the end, the haircut was $35 dollars. And I still had to fix it on my own when I got home. Ummm yeah... I'm probably not going to this place again when I can get the same haircut down the street for half the price.... read more

Jessica had excellent attitude and great experience and very pleasant attitude. Called in and spoke with Jessica, the owner. Made an appointment for the next morning. Got there and the place was really clean and well set up. I mean, this place was really clean. Got a very simple fade and trim on top, and she did a great job! Took her time and kept asking how I liked. She's also super friendly and talkative so it's not one of those awkward haircuts. The time flew by and she does a great job. Uses a straight edge to get the lines exactly perfect! This will be my new spot for sure. Also very reasonably priced for the quality! read more

I had an appointment under my name for a haircut with Jessica. When I arrived there, instead of Jessica, a student/trainee cut my hair and really messed it up. Also, it took a long time for a simple men's haircut and it cost me 35$!! I now have to get another haircut to fix this one. My haircut looks like someone put a bowl on my head an cut along the edges in a straight line-awful!!! I would not recommend J-Barbershop to you, if you want a good haircut!! Additionally, the place was not very tidy and was chaotic with the staff speaking very loudly and not behaving professionally. I felt like I was in someone's living room. read more
