Very disappointed. I'm a vegan and was really excited to try this new restaurant. Unfortunately, the food and drink was flavorless, the sandwiches fall apart with ease and the vegetables that were supposed to be inside the sandwich were just piled on the bottom of the container underneath the bread. One of my FAVORITE spots. The food is absolutely amazing, the service is spectacular, and the people working are lovely. I always enjoy eating there and the owner is really nice. Try the acaí bowl, theirs is the best around. Yesterday I had a delicious smoothie called the "Lunch Date" as well as a salad... my smoothie was nice & cold and the size of the salad was huge. I was very excited when I found this juice bar. They had celery juice. I have been juicing fresh organic celery for the last several months. The taste grows on you. My first time here the celery juice was delish! I went back 2 days later and I'm not sure what I got....but they assured me it was organic celery juice. So maybe it was either bottled or old or leftover from the previous day....it didn't taste like celery juice - it was vinegary. Yuck! I went back and they gave me more.... In less than a min. I got a pitaya bowl and it stayed cold on the two block walk to my car which was insane because it was a million degrees outside. It might've been insulated by the toppings because there were A LOT. Very nice, lovely clean little juice bar tucked round the back of the high street in HarwichPort (apparently you pronounce it with a loud W in the states...not a silent W a la Harwich in England..) oh man, are you on cape cod today? It is freaking beautiful! 70 degrees on cape is like... like imagine you're walking in your grubby, stinking, awful 90-degree city and you decide to check out an air-conditioned aromatherapy shop. Now, after 2 minutes the air conditioning is going to feel too cold, and the floral scents are going to become too perfumey, but when you first open the door, everything just feels so breezy and fresh and lightly scented. That's what summer is like on Cape Cod all the time! ANYWAY, I digress. I've been out jogging in this gorgeousness (and possibly obtaining a sick runners-high). I'd looped around Harwich Port and was coming in back through town. I'd missed breakfast and knew that I needed something light, healthy, and not-too-filling to sate me mid-jog without weighing me down for the rest of the trek. J-Bar, located conveniently in the middle of the Harwich Port bustle, was an obvious pick. This is a very simple juice/smoothie place. They have a couple sandwiches, which, I regret to say, didn't wow me. Way too dry! Not enough variety! But their menu says that they rotate the food, so maybe it'll be better next time around. Besides, this place isn't advertising food, they're advertising juice/smoothies, and those were exceptional. I got the power mylk (yes, spelled that way) which sounded like it would be way intense (lots of savory ingredients, very little sweetness) but was delicious and exactly what I needed. The ambiance is great. This is the sort of place I wish we would see more of around here. Funky and fun, tourist-friendly. Really nice art on the walls. I wouldn't mind seeing more of a cape/beach/ocean theme, just to make it stand out as local. Service was exceptional. I think a lot of the counter staff were still training, but they were still all smiles. They are good at helping you decide what you want to try and they all seem to know the menu. Prices were steep. Steep enough that I noticed it, and I'm kind of infamous for not noticing price. But you know what? These drinks are being made with quality ingredients. Your Jamba Juice is cheap bcs it's syrup and gelatin made by a corporation that has learned where it can cut quality. Meanwhile my smoothie was almond milk, bananas, spinach, avocado, spirulina, chia and flax seeds, and hemp protein. All of which were blended together in front of me. Yes, it still would have been cheaper to buy these things myself and make my own, but that's not what I want to do after running 4 miles. :P I really hope this place makes it. I've said it about a billion times: We NEED more vegan/vegetarian places on the Cape (PS: this place is vegan [no milk] except for honey, for some reason). I've never lived in a more fresh/local, gluten-obsessed, yuppie area in my life, and yet for some reason vegetarians are still considered "weird" around here. As I was waiting for my smoothie the four of them were in the back holding my drink laughing at my name and mocking how I spoke when I ordered, probably thinking I couldn't hear them. It took them about an extra minute to get me my drink because they kept laughing and making fun of me. It made me feel awful about myself and not welcome there. I love that a healthier place like this has landed in Harwich Port. I frequent here A LOT. I really, really want them to do well. Some things have improved over time, like their open hours. However, some of the challenges you face as a patron here, are still going on - and maybe getting worse actually. Freshly made or not, busy line or not, the wait time here is atrocious. I frequent juice bars, and while they are not known for speed, this is BY FAR the worst. I have been here when it's packed and orders are consistently mixed up, or forgotten. I have also been here when it's quiet, and the staff doesn't show any urgency while I'm standing there painfully watching. The chatter out on the patio often turns into strangers brainstorming how to make some sort of improvement to customer experience. Maybe online ordering with expected wait time? call-ahead orders? premade pitchers of their most popular juices that sell fast during certain hours so that they are still always fresh? You could even just offer that as an option! Other juice bars offer these and they seem to help. Please just do something! If you have time to sit and wait a while, check it out. If not, you'll leave here feeling very frustrated. It pains me to leave this review, and I'm anxious to update it if management can make some improvements! read more

We swung by this new little place looking for a yummy smoothie around breakfast time. It's definitely newer and more trendy than a lot of places in this little town, but I think it's good for harwichport! Tons of smoothie combos, flavors, and bases to choose from and some other health-food snacks are available too. My sister and I got different smoothies and both really enjoyed ours, but they weren't the best I've had. It's definitely a bit pricier for all the top of the line ingredients that they offer, but if you're looking for something healthy to perk up your morning or afternoon, I'd definitely recommend it! Açaí bowls are traditionally purple, however the kay bae bowl I ordered was a puke brown color. I asked if they had granola and was told they use museili which is similar. However on top of my bowl was a scoop of rolled oats...not very appetizing. Another issue is the fruit toppings - I had some kind of bottled or frozen strawberry topping not fresh cut at all. They were in some kind of syrup which saturated my bowl. Super disappointed with the flavors considering the high price. The service unfortunately was not much better. They weren't particularly busy but forgot to make my bowl until my husband reminded them. So we waited for about 15 minutes just for them to start making it while others who placed their orders received their drinks and left. J Bar is amazing! It's a great place to get healthy juices, smoothies, etc.

This is a wonderful place with a great concept, however, it is extremely slow. The staff is nice enough, but obviously some are inexperienced. Be prepared to wait a good 20-30 minutes for your order. The bowls are delicious, however for the fruit topping, fresh fruit should be used. It's very unpleasant to place a rock-hard strawberry or raspberry in your mouth. I can understand using frozen fruit in the smoothie component, but the garnish should be fresh- for the price. read more
