These boys know their meat. In fact, they're so renowned for the quality of their produce that this butcher's is probably the most notable thing about the tiny market town of Rawdon.
That's not saying much because there are only a handful of businesses in Rawdon, but this butcher's would hold its own anywhere, as proven by its six other branches in bigger towns across Yorkshire.
I've been here twice, instructed by my parents to bring back a joint (of meat, they're not stoners) for the Sunday roast, and both times, Wilkinson's has served me well.
On the first occasion, I chose a tender piece of lamb and on the next visit I elected to go for topside of beef. On both occasions, the guys behind the counter gave me a brief bit of chat about how best to cook it, which, combined with the high quality of the meat they handed over, really impressed me.
