Please don't have a service here. They are uncaring, unprofessional and rude. They are one of the main funeral homes in the community, and they know it, so they charge less and do the bare minimum.
My young cousin, who passed away looked like an old women on the day of the viewing. They refused to allow a family member who is another mortician to do her makeup even though they knew the person. I had to tell the woman who helped my Aunt at the viewing that certain things needed to be changed before we would allow an open casket. My aunt cried uncontrollably because my cousin didn't look like herself. The obituaries also needed to changed. They were white on the inside like a flyer. We had to ask for some kind of design or color to be added on the inside so it wouldn't look so plain.
As for the funeral home itself, it's very old and hasn't been upgraded in decades. Old dirty carpets, stained chairs, water stained ceilings and peeling wallpaper. Everything is dingy and dusty. It's such a dreary place to be.
The service turned out alright, I guess. A few things that I thought were not ok was that one of the employees wore a very glittery Louis Vuitton face mask and a lot of costume jewelry on the day of the funeral; very inappropriate. The owner was also going in and out of rooms during the service. The main negative was the music. It was a very tacky setup at the back of the room. You could hear commercials in between songs at one point. I guess they couldn't afford Spotify. We couldn't even listen to the last song because they had left so there was no one to play it.
As a prominent place in our community for families who have lost a loved one and have limited funds, this funeral home should take more pride in serving their community. Instead, they are more concerned with money. When my Aunt went in for the viewing they had the receipt book right out and counted the money on the table 3 times like a bank. They are just so numb and callous now. I don't recommend anyone to use their services. They prey on those without a lot of money because they know otherwise people have no place to go. I really hope they open their eyes and their hearts one day. read more
