I give J & S Transportation 5 stars. They didn't bait and switch. The quote was the quote. It was cheaper than others that I contacted. It was real simple. The web page actually gives you a quote. Julie contacted me and asked if we wanted to proceed. That was on a Wednesday and they had a driver in less than a week. The driver came out/Alex, he called when he was 2 hours away and called when 10 minutes away. Picked up the car and was delivered on the said date. From Eugene, OR to South Carolina. Update: The business owner is a LIAR. He says he refunded my money but they refused. I only got my money back after filing a dispute with my credit card company. These guys won't hesitate to screw you. My experience was terrible. They didn't even schedule a pickup/delivery for me yet felt entitled to keep a deposit that was supposed to be in exchange for securing a pick-up/delivery date. More specifically, a Car dealer took a $100 "deposit" so I could schedule a pickup/delivery with these guys. Dealer said they would call. They did call just a few minutes later but when they called they refused to schedule anything. After a week went by and my delivery obviously wasn't going to be scheduled I asked for my 'deposit' back and they refused. They pointed me to terms and conditions on their website that I never were informed existed and I never agreed to. Highlights: Claim they aren't responsible for flat tires, missing hub caps, damage to paint or even driving your vehicle through a tornado or hail storm. You'd have to be a fool to trust these guys with your money, car or business. read more

I contracted with J&S Transportation b/c my understanding was that they use their own trucks rather than brokers. I had a good experience, but the move was actually done by a company called "Umbrella" out of PA. It all went fine, but I wish someone had told me. It cost over $1000 to use J&S and "Umbrella" would have been less expensive. I got the car just fine (dirty, but that is no surprise), but not really the arrangement that I paid for. Recently shipped my grandson's vehicle from our home in Idaho to Shepperd AFB in TX. They responded very quickly & stayed in constant communication with myself and my grandson. One note: they advertise door to door however we live in a very rural area and after the initial quote, they had to add an additional $200 because of the area in which we live, we understand why that expense was added. J&S told us that we should not give the driver any additional money but the trucking company's dispatch told us that they would have to charge an additional $150 because we had clothes in the backseat. That worked out and we didn't have to pay any additional money after all. Tried to work with this local company instead of an online broker but very disappointed. Their initial quote wasn't the cheapest to begin with, and twice they tried to raise the rate to get my vehicle picked up. After a week and a half with no progress, I a refund on my deposit which they did not refund. I've had other cars shipped with brokers that did not ask for a deposit, and will go that route in the future. read more

Shipping your vehicle can be a very frustrating and despairing process. There are hundreds of scammers out there and finding a legit reliable company is a grueling endeavor. I am lucky I found this company. To my understanding, they own their own truck and I wasn't talking to some middlemen. Unless you are local in Billings, Montana, I would not recommend using this company. They are no different than other transport companies that merely connect you to an independent driver over whom they then have no control, and you will pay hundreds of dollars more than if you contracted directly with one of the many independent drivers out there. You get nothing for the extra money. They don't know where your vehicle is and don't take responsibility for it. I got a toll bill for my vehicle during the time it was being transported. When I called J&S for them to take care of it, they tried to foist the responsibility for the toll charges on me until I threatened to make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. (They have already had a similar complaint.) Additionally, my vehicle somehow racked up almost 500 miles on the odometer without explanation. They do not ask the independent drivers to record odometer readings on pickup or delivery. read more

I can't say enough good things about J and S transportation. I really liked that they kept in such a great contact with me. Anytime that I texted I immediately got a call back or a text back. They were awesome! My car made it here ahead of schedule and I couldn't be happier. I had checked around with different companies and found that J&S transportation was even a little bit lower in price than the other companies. When Jacob delivered the car to my front doorstep, he could not have been nicer and more professional. When I needed to ship a truck to my son at college, I contacted J & S. They were great about getting me a quote immediately. I had some racks on the truck, they had me send a photo, and they got the adjusted quote to me right away. I was very nervous and stressed about the whole process. They walked me through it step by step, it was great. The driver found my house without having to call for directions (something the local pizza delivery guy can't do). We shipped from Northern California to Southern Illinois in 3 days.They were able to deliver the truck a day early. My son was able to call the driver to set up details for delivery. The team answered all my questions before I booked and then answered all of them after I booked. The team was always in communication with me. We had my daughter's car transported from Billings Montana to the Boston area in Massachusetts after completing an internship in Montana. When my daughter dropped off her car, Joe from J & S drove my daughter to the airport which helped my daughter a great deal. J & S stored the car in their garage for a week before shipping it out to MA. They were in touch with us the week when the car shipped out of MT by email letting us know that the car was put onto a truck and the expected day of arrival. J & S gave the truck driver our contact info so that he could let us know when he would be dropping off the car. One problem is that the truck driver (a subcontractor) spoke only a little English and was not familiar with the area near our home. The truck driver called when he was a half hour away from our house and then when he was very close to our street. The problem was that the truck driver was not able to tell my daughter where he was parked. I,however, drove by him on the way to my house. He was parked on the state road between an exit and entrance to the Interstate highway about a quarter mile from my house. I would have liked him to drop off the car right at the house but I was told by J & S that would not be possible. If I didn't see the truck we would have wondered where he was located since he could not speak enough English. I think that J & S Transportation did a wonderful job in getting my daughter's car to MA but wished a specific drop off location could be arranged in advance. read more
