I purchased a front axle assembly for my f250 from hansers salvage in billings mt that came with a one year warranty. We had the axle put in and we to get the truck aligned and come to find out that the right upper ball joint was defective. That should be under their warranty but guess, they said they never sold me the axle with the ball joints, we'll that's not true. So instead of keeping their word they refunded me 75.00 towards the ball joint, that should say something that they knew they was wrong and they don't want to own up to that there was issues with the axle. Oh they was as sweet to me when I was buying something from them but when you go back with issues on the parts that you buy they are not very nice. All I have to say is from now on I will look elsewhere for parts even it's out of state. The same thing happened to my daughter on a part for her truck. read more

We were in Cody, Wy when our Motorhome wouldn't start on the day we were leaving our campground. I called every tow service in the area and Hansers from Billings was the only one with the proper equipment to get our 44 ft motorhome to the Billings repair center. Cody and Aj, a dynamite duo, with great teamwork came to our rescue. They were conscientious, and hard working young men. They came, loaded our motor home on a trailer and drove it to Billings where they unloaded us, parked our RV in their lot and provided us with electricity. When the mechanics returned on Monday one came over immediately and took our RV in for repair. It was a simple fix and he did a quick check and drive test. Everything worked perfectly. I got my 38' Class A diesel coach stuck in soft dirt, trying to turn it around, and wound up totally blocking a road in a very tight spot, in a residential neighborhood. I was told that Hansers was the only company around who had equipment large enough to handle getting me out of my predicament. Knowing that my situation was critical, despite it being the end of the day, they dispatched Kyle to my location, who was a 3 hour drive from me. Kyle arrived at about 9PM, and had me in the clear within an hour and a half, or so. He was professional, extremely experienced and took great care to not allow any further damage to my new baby!! I would highly recommend Hansers for your RV needs. Besides Kyle, the girls in the office were so kind and patient with me, keeping me posted as to his progress in arriving at my location!! I would give a negative star review if I could! charged me 560$ for a job I did in 2 hours in the parking lot at my work. asked jerod to run diagnostic and reprogram idle air controller so my vehicle would idle. he decided to take it all apart again, reinstall same part and could not tell me why it was acting up. wrote up some bogus explanation and a few random excuses of other possible reasons. none of which had anything to do with why it wasn't running. I will never bring a motor vehicle to him again! he couldn't even tell me what the correct idle speed was. never again! I don't recommend anyone else does either. read more

Our passenger side rear tire was smoking as we pulled off exit. Limped into RV Park. Called AAA for tow to a RV repair shop. Hansers got the job and said it would be tight getting flatbed into park and our 31 foot 5th wheel on it. We discussed what happened. Kurt took charge, drove to get a new axel hanger. He installed it and said Hansers could fix our rig. They were 500 feet down on opposite side of street so we drove it over. We needed to be on the road the next morning and they were working on a class c radiator r&r. Long story but the mechanics really take pride in what they do. They got us on the road late that afternoon and advised us of a couple of concerns. Top notch repair and customer service. I called up to get a computer for a vehicle place the order gave him my credit card they ran the credit card charge me for it . Thought it would drive in a timely manner when I called 3 days later Ben who was the salesperson did not have the computer did not have a courtesy of calling me and letting me know that they did not have it he said he would give me a refund four days later I called miles answer the phone. He must have taken it too personal finally they said that they would give me a refund. WOW I can't give these people enough stars! I had a spring break and tire blowout on out travel trailer while traveling from Georgia on I-90 near Big Timber MT at about 2:00 Pm. Called AAA. They were almost useless . We sat for over 5 hours on the interstate before Kaleb showed up. The trailer was not towable, so Kaleb had to get creative to get it onto his flatbed truck. About an hour later we were on the way to their lot/shop in Billings. Since it was now after 8:00 pm and everything was closed he left it there till we could make arrangements for repair in the morning. Bill, in the office was very helpful in trying to track down an RV repair place. Unfortunately, it was peak season and none of the RV places could get us in. One said 3-4 weeks. Bill had their service manager, Jared look at it. He said it wasn't anything too unusual and they could have it ready by end of the day. At 4:00pm Jared called and said everything was ready to go!! Joe and the Hanser's team really pulled through for us!!! TLDR: Driving through Yellowstone on a cross country road trip and we got stuck on Beartooth Highway at 9p, was able to get a ride down to Red Lodge, MT. Our insurance was being ridiculous with towing and running us in circles. They promised to have a tow truck go up to the car early in the morning and after a million calls back and forth, we got assigned Joe, our driver from Hanser's. Joe went all the way the pass where there was ZERO service only to be told that it was closed due to weather conditions and had to drive alllllll the way down and go up again through a different road. He then had to hook the car up in a 2 lane highway and drive it allllll the way through Cody and then back to Red Lodge. We were told he left to go to the car around 9A and he dropped off the car to us at 6P! He was so incredibly nice and personable! We can't thank Joe enough for doing a great job and for all his time. My tow truck was there 30 minutes before the anticipated arrival, my driver (Gus I believe) was very skillful at his job and quite friendly. My entire problem was taken care of within 15 minutes and the only thing that was required of me, was a signature in order for my insurance to pay. Our Travel Trailer blew a bearing, requiring extensive axle repair or replacement, we were looking at 3-6 weeks wait for parts and repair from the 3 RV dealers. Hanser's Jesse (Service Manager) and Paul (RV specialist) pulled out the stops, did amazing things , and had us back on the road in 3 days. Outstanding relations, knowledgeable, and efficient, they even had a powered parking area for us, which was appreciated during 90 deg days. Highly recommended for RV and any other auto repair. I had Hansers replace my engine in my 2012 GMC 1500 pickup in december 2017.they did an awesome job on it .the truck never ran better the oil pressure is excellent.it didnt take them but a couple weeks to swap out the engine.i highly reccomend these guys if you want fast courteous service.i did some calling around to some other places for the same service but nobody in town was willing to tackle the task of finding me a motor and replacing it.I will be doing business with Hansers in the future.thanks guys for a awesome job. read more

My car broke down in Billings on the way to Glacier National Park. It was a Sunday night so everything was closed and I'd need a hotel. Dakota in truck 137 was AWESOME! He showed up in minutes, hooked up my car super quick, and gave my wife and I a ride to the VW dealer in Billings to drop off my vehicle. Then, he gave us several suggestions of good hotels in the area and places to eat. Gave us a ride to a nice hotel. Very friendly and professional. Best tow company in Billings! Buyer beware check other prices in town they charge almost twice as much as anyone else. They get you with the tow truck then they know your stuck. I called there competition after the fact and they are almost half the price. Jessie is hard to deal with not very friendly. So much for a family owned business I tried to talk with the owner and they said you wouldn't get a hold of him he might be hanging out at the tow yard. Ordered a taillight from Hanser's over the phone in early October, they originally hadn't noticed that it did not ship to them for over a week. After figuring this out with my help they got my taillight on the way, it showed up and was cracked and for the wrong model of my 86 Volvo. Understandably they're hard to come by yet the person working had no idea it was wrong. They said they'd find me another one and they did, after my 3 weeks I did finally get the taillight I had ordered. read more

Wow. I don't often take time to write reviews, but after yesterday's experience I feel like I must. Two months ago we had a blowout on our 39 ft fifth-wheel. Hanser's was sent out to fix it by our roadside assistance program. The jack was placed incorrectly and slightly bent part of the suspension system. We continued on to our summer campsite where my husband grew increasingly concerned about it. He stopped unannounced when we were driving back through Billings yesterday and spoke with the owner, Ralph Hanser. I was astounded. Mr Hanser made multiple phone calls to several shops and got opinions of people he considered more expert than he on this particular problem. He not only wanted to correct the problem at no cost, but insisted that it be done perfectly. As we live in Texas, he wasn't doing this for his word of mouth local reputation; he is simply a man who does business the old fashioned way. He stands behind his company's work. When I told him at the end of the day how impressed I was with his attitude and business, he gave us a quick tour of his large facility. Every building we entered was organized and spotless, another reflection on the quality and expectations he has of his employees. I can't recommend this business highly enough. read more

I would give negative stars if possible. I write this review so others will not have to endure the same incompetence and lack of customer service we experienced. We had the transmission replaced on our F250 at Hanser's in 2013. A few weeks ago, after less than 17,000 miles, (the transmission we replaced had lasted 216,517 miles) the transmission Hanser's built and installed failed, leaving us stranded with a load of hay on board. We went back to them and they offered a couple hundred dollars off to replace it again; a cost of $3200. Of course we were not about to make what obviously had been a bad (and now expensive) mistake again. We took the truck to AA Transmission who came HIGHLY recommended. They replaced Hanser's and wrote a letter certifying that the transmission failure was due to Hanser's use of incorrect parts and improper assembly. We have all the parts of Hanser's transmission in our posession and have had other transmission shops verify that it's obvious from the parts that some were incorrect and that the transmission was also assembled incorrectly causing it to fail prematurely. When we approched the owner of Hanser's directly to try to reach an agreement for some meaningful compensation he offered us $500; on a $3400 job. Even though it was out of the time warranty it was WELL below the mileage warraanty and other transmission shops said, after looking at the parts, THEY would have replaced it free of charge if their shop had installed it. We expected at least that Hanser's reimburse us for the parts since the failure was 100% due to Hanser's complete incompetence and to nothing else. $500 is unacceptable. I'm willing to bet if we were his high school buddies; his ex-teammates; some of his good old boy chums, we would have received completely different treatment. DO NOT take your vehicle here. Do yourself a favor and go to AA Transmission for the highest quality shop and someone who stands behind their work. read more

We were heading to Glacier pulling a camper when we broke down less then 20 miles west of Colombus MT. After getting no help from Ford and no passerby wanted to check on us, we called 911, luckily we had one bar on our cell phones. A sheriff from a county over came and assisted us, dispatch helped us located the only wrecker service available on this July 4th weekend. They got there in an hour, (probably thanks to threats from the nice deputy) and proceeded to load our Excursion up on a flat bed truck. My husband hooked our bumper hitch up to their other truck. They charged us $275 a piece!! Because no one was at their Columbus facility, we got charged an extra 40 miles on each vehicle. Everyone we talked to was shocked!! I guarantee if I break down again in the same area, I'll throw a match in it all and walk away before I pay that again. They knew we had no choice and we got Brokeback Mountain treatment. Thanks NOT!
