Dynamic Automotive

I can't say enough good things about Dynamic Automotive in Urbana! After a frustrating experience…read moreat the Chevrolet dealership in Frederick, where my concerns about electrical issues in my 2021 Suburban were basically dismissed, I brought my vehicle here, and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the team at Dynamic was helpful, patient, and incredibly professional. They took the time to actually listen to my concerns, thoroughly explained what was going on, and made sure I understood everything. I never felt rushed or brushed off. They resolved my electrical issues and also performed several key services: new brakes and rotors, sensors, a rear module replacement, a differential oil change, and a transfer case oil change. The pricing for everything was completely fair--on point, if not better than expected and I know I would've spent significantly more at the dealership. This experience has earned them my trust 100%. I'll be bringing my Suburban back here for all future service needs. If you're looking for honest, friendly, and knowledgeable auto care, Dynamic Automotive in Urbana is the place to go. Thank you so much for the excellent service!

*** updated***** I spoke to the Manager this morning and he…read moresaid he would refund the $97 for the battery replacement. I will wait and see if that get refunded before updating my review. *************** Be careful taking your car here for repair. My car didn't start and I had it towed there for service. They say that they would charge me $200 for diagnostic. The first thing they told me was to replace the car battery. I told them the battery is basically new and just purchased 2 months ago. All they have to do is to recharge the battery and continue with the diagnostic. The fact that they would not do anything until I replace the battery tell me that they wanted to sell me a new battery. So, I went and took the old battery to Advance Auto and have it swapped out with a new battery and haul it back to Dynamic Auto. After swapping out the battery, the car still does not start. I told the mechanic that the gear shift is having some issues shifting to Park, and hence the car won't start until the gear is shifted to Park. He took notes and I went home after that. The manager, Stu, called me back and gave me an estimate of $3280 for replacing the shift cable. I declined the service and he told me on the phone that I would owe the shop $197 + tax for the diagnostic fee. When I get there, he then said I owe another $100 for swapping out the battery. The battery was not the issue, and it was misdiagnosed in the first place. In any case, I paid the shop and had the car towed to another auto shop that I know. Needless to say, that it costs me extra to tow the car twice. At the second auto shop, the mechanic took out the shift cable, clean it because it was gunk up with grease and dirt, and put it back and everything is working again. He charges me $110 for labor. Had I not taken my car to another auto shop, I would have paid Dynamic Auto $3280 plus $300 of diagnostic fee. I would never come back to Dynamic Auto again. This place is good for oil change only, for anything else do it at your own risk.

Sunday night, my car wouldn't start. I had it towed to superior on Sunday night and it was there…read morefor them first thing Monday morning. Superior noted on the invoice that the car was dead on arrival. Said they tested the battery and that they were able to start the vehicle with starting fluid after multiple attempts. Well, to me that means there were something wrong with the car battery. They got the car running and charged me $155. They kept the car all day, over seven hours to do the safety maintenance inspection that I didn't ask for. They didn't ask me either. Two days later, the car would not start again. I called superior to let them know and they said that the battery was OK when it was there. The battery was dead in their own words when they checked it. I don't understand why they didn't replace the battery. I was unable to go to work on my new job on Wednesday, I would think that an auto service center would recognize when a battery needs replaced.. I am homeless and sleeping in my car. I have no money to get it towed. Fortunately, somebody helped me in the Walmart parking lot to get the car running so I can drive it to a Walmart service center. If that kind person did not help me, I would've been stuck there. I would not have been able to go to work. I wouldn't had a place to sleep. Anyway, I think they should've changed the battery on Monday when the car was in their shop. I think they should've recognized that since it was dead on Sunday and Monday and it was a really old battery, they should have replaced it. Since they didn't, it was a big hassle for me not going back to Superior auto service again. It said on the invoice that they recommended that I monitor it. That is ridiculous. I'm supposed to just drive the car around and hope that it starts when I get back in. I would have to have an expense of it being towed. Shouldn't they fix the car so you don't get stranded somewhere ? Walmart charged me $150 for the battery and instillation. Superior charged me $155 and didn't fix the car. They just gave me a list of $2000 worth of stuff that needed to be Repaired.
