Two years ago, I decided to redo my backyard and thought it would be wise to refurbish my existing pool. I've lived in my home for 15 years and wasn't sure how long the previous owner had the pool installed. My goal was to make sure everything was sound before investing in the rest of the yard. The job involved replacing all the lines to the jets, skimmer, and main drain, replacing the steps and liner, and converting the system to salt water -- a total cost of $30,000 cash, as requested by the owner, Peter. When the job started, I asked if it could be completed by the Fourth of July for my annual party. Peter assured me it wouldn't be a problem. To help speed things up, I even had my own employees dig up the yard to expose all the lines -- something that wasn't part of our agreement and for which I never asked for a discount. A few days before the Fourth, the job was supposedly complete, but I immediately noticed the pool lost about four inches of water in a single day -- and dirt was shooting out from the jets. One of his workers came to check but couldn't find the problem. My Fourth of July party came and went without a usable pool. Eventually, another worker discovered they had forgotten to plug a 2-inch fitting in the skimmer. Mistakes happen, so I wasn't upset at that point. However, once the pool was finally running, I noticed a pebble under the brand-new liner -- likely because the pool floor hadn't been vacuumed before installation. When I informed Peter, his only solution was to cut and patch the brand-new liner, which he never followed through on. Now, two years later, I noticed the pool losing about ¾ inch of water per day. I texted and called Peter directly with no response. When I called the office, they asked if JP Pools maintained my pool (they don't -- I open, close, and maintain it myself). I explained the issue, but was told they couldn't find my paperwork because the company had split and my records were supposedly with his partner, John -- someone I've never met. After three calls and no returned messages, they simply brushed me off. I was forced to hire another pool company, who confirmed my worst fear: a leaking jet line due to poor workmanship. They had to rip up my pavers and repair the line, costing me an additional $11,000. What I tried to avoid from the start ended up happening anyway -- because of poor work and lack of accountability. I would never recommend JP Pools to anyone. Do your homework carefully before hiring this company. Their poor workmanship and unwillingness to stand behind their work have cost me both time and money. read more

Used J&P for years with no issues until one of their workers, who has been with them for years, rewired my pool pump using the 3 prong plug of an industrial extension cord. Never responded to my calls to fix it. Pump burned out. Refused to take responsibility. Claimed they didn't do it. Now I'm stuck with having to pay for an electrician and a new pump. They never treated my father like this, but I guess as a woman, they were happy to take advantage of me and dismiss me. Beware of companies that ask for cash payment. read more

This company is scammer do not used them, this guy Andrian took a check of $5,000 from me deposit it and never came to do the job!!! I keep calling him he change the company name at first he denied that it was him but I have proofs recording calls and copy of the check that was cashed, I went to court he never came, I won the court but he never paid, after two year he admitted that it was him and he said that he will come and never came again summer after summer! We just purchased a new home. J & P were recommended by the previous owners. I called to speak with Claudia. Very nice lady. Very attentive. We finally set a date and time for her tech employees to come and check the pool, clean, check the chemicals so far and so on. They were not able to do it on the day that I was home. I trusted them to go in and do their job when I was NOT HOME. Now, before I go on. I need to clarify that we do not LIVE in this new home yet. Supposedly they came in that Monday and did their job, which is a fee of $95. I called Claudia on that WEDNESDAY, asking her if everything went smooth. She reassured me that everything is clean and good to go. She also mentioned that she isn't sure if her guys closed the pool cover. So I called my husband and asked him to pass by the house and make sure the cover is closed. My husband arrived to the house and FaceTime to show all the dirt and A USED CUP on the bottom of the pool. Now again, we DO not live there. No one uses the pool, the cover was CLOSED. So I called and emailed Claudia with photos and my concern. She pretty much told me to go find another company, and that her boss who is in Greece pretty much dismisses me as a customer. WHAT?!? Like is this real? Then, the owner had the audacity to email me such a long and condescending email. Telling me I am a liar, and that he believes his employees, and that HE REFUSES TO provide us any further service. I am just shocked. I thought I will share. If you can STAY AWAY! We just had a pool installed by J&P Pools. Excellent customer service from initial planning right through to the completion of my pool and backyard. There was never any question of how the work would be done. Professional workmanship and attention to detail was amazing. These guys were supposed to install a liner for my family. They messed it up and then never mentioned it and hoped we would just forget about it. they are horrible. they don't keep appointments. they think they are doing you a favor, after about 2 month of calling they finally showed up to repair my liner,they told me to get rid of the water in the pool and would come back the next day. They came a week later and has they where attaching my liner back in the track they damaged it. they never took responsibility. beware they are liars do not trust them to do any work for you. read more

Used this company to install my vinyl liner for my in-ground pool a few years ago. Last year, I used them to close my pool, purchased from them a new cover (in which I had issues and they never addressed) and asked them to adjust liner as it was coming unhinged. They told me they would take care of it when opening up the pool this year. This March (2019), I called them to fix liner and open the pool. It not only took them 2 months after repeated calls to finally come over--after not showing up on multiple appointments WITHOUT calling to cancel--but they tore a hole in the liner! To make matters worse, they REFUSED to make reparations and told me they would no longer service me! I am going to file a lawsuit against them. Great Company for building swimming pools and liner installations (expensive work). Pool cleaning and maintenance is at the bottom, they don't keep appointments and dont do the proper servicing to maintain the pool. I will say they are courteous and do try to help, I guess they are understaffed. read more

I choose J & P Pools to construct my pool, not because of the price, but because I felt I could trust them. The job is completed and is very beautiful. I had and appointment with J and P Pools to open my pool and they cancelled the appointment without notice and without a courtesy phone call to me. I called and made this appointment a month in advance. On the scheduled day I called to ask for an approximate time to expect them and I was told by Claudia the office worker that the office manager Maggie "called twice and when they didn't hear back from me to confirm, they cancelled the appointment." I was shocked because I had been using J and P Pools to open, close, as well as service my pool weekly since 2008. I got to know their employees and was on a first name basis with everyone I came in contact with. At first, I took this personally and was hurt that they would rudely treat a loyal and prompt paying customer like me. However, after going through my voicemail messages and caller ID records back to May 15, I found no records of any calls from J and P Pools. Claudia did apologize to me for the inconvenience but I will NEVER use this company again. If Maggie wants to lie to customers she has to realize that 21st century technology will catch her and make a fool of her and the business. read more

The worst pool company they are very stuck up they think that they offer quality service. But there prices are extremely expensive. they do not stand behind there work and they blame problems on the manufacture.My pool is four years old they do weekly service for me and put chlorine tablets in the skimmer when the manufacture's manual states not to put chlorine in the skimmer when you have a heater. I have a salt system but they dont use salt cause its to costly for them mean while i pay them for weekly service contract. I needed a new heater this past summer costed me $2800. There sales man Rich talks like a know it all. This is what happens when you get get uneducated people to work in your back yard !!! Clearwater Pools is the way to go read more
