I went for a cup of seafood chowder to start, followed by the steak sandwich. The chowder was just okay in my opinion. A bit too salty and not as thick as I like it. However, I may be a chowder snob. The steak sandwich in the other hand was unreal! Chunky chips, thick sliced bread and the most tender cut of steak. Perfect for a sandwich. I engulfed all the food. The chips were a winner. Fureys tends to be a busy spot, so you may have to wait to be seated. The staff are amazing and handle your wait really well. We were seated and taken care of really quickly. Definitely worth a visit if you are passing by.

Frank behind the bar made us feel like locals and told us all about the history of the establishment and the best places to see in town. Go to Trim, tour the castle and abbey ruins, walk the Porchfield loop, grab a pint at Marcie Regan's and then go back to Brogan's for the rest of the night. The atmosphere was perfect! It was early Sunday morning, and there were already a few locals inside having their morning beer and reading the newspaper. I did some exploring because it looks so small on the outside, but you get in, and it just keeps going and going. Looks like they get large crowds during the evenings, and even offer lots of live music and DJs. The bartender was friendly.

Also known as the sinking pub this slanted floor place is a charming teeny pub set in the bog/forest of Donadea, Kildare. The decor is old school, as are the locals and a packet of King is a must have. Staff get 5 stars for providing us with a free basket of Quality Street with our pints. Great beer garden attached for those sunny days.
