Not only did they do an amazing job on the patio, they helped fix a couple spots that were in bad shape from the previous company who we used that shall remain nameless. All you need to know about the other company, is that we did not use them again. Unlike Hooks, who will be the first company we call for any future work. Chris and his team were so great with the patio, we had them also install landscaping around our house. And again, they did an amazing job. And to top it all off, they are super reasonable!! Thanks for all your help Hook's!!

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our appointment with Chris due to illness and other home repair schedules. Instead of kindly asking to reschedule with us, he sent very disrespectful text messages. I have proof of him calling us rude and ignorant and a wasted hour drive for him. In any other position, this would be grounds for firing. Since Chris is a lead, he clearly does not care about his behavior or his treatment of his customers. Also, please keep in mind we most certainly would not contact a company to request an hour drive. We live in his local area. We were not the customer using his services out of location.

Chad kept us informed every step of the way, from what work was being done, to the estimates completion date. When he showed up for the estimate, he gave us some options, took some measurements and we had a written estimate before he left. From approving the estimate to the materials showing up was only two weeks! The crew (Andy and Jack) showed up every day ready to work and did so tirelessly until the end of each day. They asked great questions to make sure nothing got damaged or misplaced, and the finished product was better that we had hoped! All scrap was removed and our yard was left in great condition. The job took six days for removal of old material and installation of new siding, soffit, fascia and gutters. Most importantly, the wife is happy!

I was even told it might not be the roof and the ceiling leak could be coming from elsewhere. Robert came out, climbed in the attic from the attic window. In short I would NOT recommend Chicago Decorative Concrete. Chris came out and I showed him the…read morefloor in the office NEXT door and asked if they could do the same. A simple concrete overlay with minimal natural texture. Here is what transpired next. Floor #1- Day one none of the equipment was working (grinder and vacuum). the job was to be 3.5 days and already would be 2 days over due. The 1st floor had lots of "fan" pattern texture. Clearly Chris had not told Jake and the team what I wanted. 20ft away was a whole office with what I was wanting. ** Not listening to customer wants/needs Floor #2- Jake was nice and agreed with Chris to redo the floor using a different material. This batch was "bad" and was overstock from another job. Fair enough, they have to buy minimum amounts. They agreed to redo it a third time. ** Poor material management. Floor #3- Floor was better but had HUGE swirl marks and major color contrast issues in 3-4 areas. Basically the whole floor was grey and in 4 spots there was dark grey swirls and drips. At this point I was fine to let it go. Not what I really wanted, but was willing to move on. ** Was not honest about what they can actually do. The breaking point issue was with the clear top coat. Jake and crew put down the clear coat and I paid the remainder thinking all would be ok. Jake agreed on a discounted price as the job took weeks to finish instead of the agreed upon 3-4 days. ** DO NOT pay until the final coat is FULLY DRY! However, the top coat dried with white spots and roller marks all over. I called/text to tell them how it dried and that it did not look like anything we agreed upon. In short, after another couple of weeks going back and forth they said I had to pay the FULL amount if I wanted them to come back out and redo the top coat as per our agreement. ** At the end of the day they DO NOT CARE about their customers if the cost of THEIR mistakes are too high. My time and inconvenience was of no concern. Crappy Co. Crappy materials and just a bad Co. to deal with.

I could not be happier with having these guys do work on my unit. I will explain exactly what…read morehappened and why! In the midst of redoing my kitchen on top of about 8-month old hardwood floors there was a pretty massive flood in my condo. About 1000 feet of wood needed to be ripped up leaving an exposed rough, uneven, nail filled concrete sub-floor. I was faced with either getting new wood floors or something else- I went polished concrete. I solicited a few quotes, but ultimately went with CDC due to Chris and his honesty about the job from the start. Their price was fair, they seemed better in my mind- I was right. On time they came in, their crew performed the work quickly. They helped me carry last things off my floor to prep it (not in contract scope) and explained a detailed timeline and what I could expect. Noise, dust, accidental spatter were assumed on my part. Sure, there was dust from concrete grinding, but how could there not be? Anyway- within less than one week from a hellish debacle and not knowing how it would turn out I love my floors. They look great- I have no complaints thus far after a few weeks. The finish looks good, and the attention to detail (they had to pour under cabinets and up to carpeted stairs and to many closet entrances) was superior. Jake (the foreman) ran a tight ship and had his guys cleaning up every aspect of community (condo halls) property after the whole gig was completed. In all, the price was fair. The guys were great. The timeline was on point. The floors look great. I would use them again, I would refer them to anyone, if anyone has a question for me please feel free to reach out and ask. Thank you Chicago Decorative Concrete.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. We are in the process of lawsuit with Rick and Bernardins Landscaping…read moreInc. They mixed up the houses, came to ours spraying weed killer on our fresh and still growing lawn killing the good grass too. Once I confronted the employee he stopped immediately, but he told me that the grass will start dying within the next two weeks. As you can see in the pictures the grass and the whole trail where the weed killer was sprayed is already turning yellow and it's only been two days. We spoke on the phone with Rick the owner of the company how can we resolve this huge problem, as our current landscaping service declined to carry responsibility for the ruined grass, which totally makes sense. He said he would come to our house the next day on our agreed time to talk to us saying he would make things right. He never showed up and never answered his cell phone. I left him a voicemail saying I was disappointed with him, I felt like he disrespected us and that the lawyer will contact him soon. Also, told him that he wasn't allowed on our property. The next morning he showed up around 9am uninvited telling us what he will do. He basically dictated his plans and what was convenient for him. He changed the whole story of what he promised us on the day of the mix up he would do, including the reimbursement of water bills for watering the grass in the past 2months. He said he'll patch it here and there and will only cover the water bill for the work he has done. We slammed the door to his face yelling to leave our property immediately. Guys, there are plenty of good, accountable and responsible landscaping companies out there. Be wise and read the review. Rick, is dishonest (told us he fell asleep on the couch, that's why he didn't show up to the meeting) how responsible is he? He doesn't care, he's a liar and very manipulative if he doesn't get it his way. We felt like he mistreated us because of his money power, but there will be consequences. We are not the people who just going to let it slide like that. Bernardins Landscaping is not the company you want to work with!
