Honda Of Slidell - Price

Honda Of Slidell

I am the type of person that speed walks past the kiosks in the mall because I don't like pushy…read moresales, so going to car dealerships is kind of an anxiety-driven task for me. I had visited Honda of Slidell twice; the first time was to look at older Honda CR-Vs and the second time to sell Rhonda the Honda. The first time, I made an appointment online and met with one of their sales guys. He was very kind and the test drive was fine, I just didn't love the model of the year I was looking at though it was the year I was in the market for. I didn't receive a copious amount of phone calls following my visit, and I appreciate that the sales guy I had worked with didn't push it with me. As luck would have it, I was able to buy a Honda CR-V from a family member, and needed to get rid of Rhonda the Honda. I had put an Instant Cash Offer request in online and a couple of dealerships popped up for me to have the car inspected with Honda of Slidell being one of them. I was contacted by someone from this location asking if I'd like to set up an appointment and I had one on the books days after I made the request... Now let me tell you a little about Rhonda the Honda, a 2007 Honda Civic that had seen better days. She was in pretty bad shape. I really don't even know how we got it to this location without her kicking the bucket. While I had high hopes of getting a certain amount, I knew in my heart that she wasn't worth much anymore. That being said, John Roberts whom I worked with this time around, still put her through the maintenance check and came to me with the laundry list of issues my ol' Rhonda had, and why it wouldn't be the value I had had in mind. I still felt the need to negotiate a little and he acquiesces, taking my request back to his boss. With a clear explanation, he found a middle ground and we shook on it. To be honest, it's that feeling when you sell your textbooks at the end of the year, and are kind of sad, but also kind of happy to be rid of them. The process was quick, and the check came in no time. John Roberts was very kind, knowledgeable, and not in the least bit "car salesman-y" to me. I had had a guy friend there to help me get a ride back and at no point did John direct the conversation to him which I know is sometimes an issue women have on car lots. So thank you, John, for buying my sweet ol' Rhonda the Honda, and I hope for your continued success at Honda of Slidell.

Expect to be notified of damage to your ready to purchase used car AT THE TIME OF CLOSING. Expect to be subjected to every used car salesman ploy out there. Don't expect them to value your time; expect them to make you sit for hours to wear you down. Expect the finance guy to argue with you, insult you and make every effort to cheat you. Expect to walk into closing with one number that you have discussed to find a completely different number in your paperwork. Expect to be overcharged for repairs in service department and be aware that agreed on prices will NOT be the same price you are charged. This dealership gives a bad name to the great name of Honda. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere but if you must, look at all paperwork carefully before signing.

Upon arrival, I was assigned Richard Parr to be my salesperson who in my opinion is an excellent salesperson whereas he showed me a Jeep Grand Cherokee and explained all the features of the SUV. Then we went for a test drive where he expounded further in greater detail the features of the SUV. When we returned to the dealership, I stated that I want to purchase this vehicle whereas he brought me to the Finance Person namely Phill where I signed documents to purchase said SUV and when I was in the process of signing the documents Phill was explaining as I was signing the necessary documents. Their was a minor hick-up because the Credit Union did not forward the pre-approval,however after Alex the Branch Manger for ASI St. Claude Branch got involved, things went quickly and smoothly. All in all, my car buying experience at Brian Harris was Quick, Painless and Memorable and if you are planning to buy a car, go see Richard Parr at Brian Harris and tell his Henry Alexander sent you and you won't be sorry.

Warning Internal Fraudulent Practices…read more Just for the record-this is my personal experience and I would hate to see this happen to someone else. I am extremely disappointed and alarmed by what happened at GMC legacy in Slidell, La. A former employee of theirs(my ex husband of approximately 7/8 years) was able to purchase a vehicle in my name -including signing all paperwork without my knowledge or consent. I did not authorize this purchase, nor was I present. I have evidence. Despite no longer working there, this individual exploited the dealership's lax identity-verification process to secure a loan under my Social Security number: As a result, I'm facing: - [ ] A fraudulent auto loan on my credit report. - [ ] Emotional distress and hours lost disputing this crime. I have since filed reports with my local police department , DMV, and I met with the owner Mr Adam Bowen(to give his business the opportunity to make it right, however it was unsuccessful) but GMC Legacy must also be held accountable for allowing an ex -staff member to retain document-signing privileges. Do NOT do business here if you value your personal information. Until they overhaul their security and retrain their staff on proper ID checks, any transaction here puts you at risk of Identity theft.
