That proved immensely helpful because I was overwhelmed the second my feet hit the dirt! A lovely lady, Rebecca, approached and asked how she could help. She was very happy that I brought the pot sizes as well as where I intended to place them (sun/shade). In no time at all I had a wagon full and with what my friends and I purchased, my trunk space was full. Pricing is a bit on the high side but honestly, the stock is beautiful, healthy and the variety is abundant. Add in the personal attention I received and it was money well spent because a multitude of choices were offered for the specific types of plants I needed. If I wasn't really liking something she suggested, we moved on. She was so helpful! On my next visit I will take some time to browse inside the store, they had some lovely gift ideas but time wasn't on my side at that point. Such a fun outing! (As for getting there, I-65 South was fine on the way there even though a significant stretch is under construction. The return was jammed so we came back on Hwy 31. While it took longer, there were no traffic delays.)

The lady that helped me this week was very helpful and knowledgeable about the plant-world. I was in a hurry when I bought two flats of Mixed Heatwave Vinca; so, I didn't make it to all the other sections of the nursery and that's my loss. There's a tree section; a shrubbery section; an indoor greenhouse and on and on. This place is big! In addition to the annuals, I should've also bought a hanging basket for my Mom for Mother's Day, because there were some beautiful arrangements. Oh and the prices seemed to be less than other places that have hanging baskets and flats of flowers right now. I can't wait to go back to Hazelwood's just as soon as I can.

Although there's a lot of neat stuff inside, there aren't several separate, discrete stores or booths...it's all one business. Drive by and you'll just see the concrete figurals outside. We did that probably a dozen times, spread across our stays around Lake Martin. As we were departing the area this week, my lady wanted to get her sister a garden ornament, so we popped in. The management/owner(s) need to find a way to alert passersby that there is a plethora of neat stuff inside. Crafty stuff, touristy stuff, paddleboards, Big Green Eggs, and who knows what else. We were pinched for time, so I didn't have the opportunity to wander hither and yon, but if you're in the area, you could while away some time here. Nice folks and a very clean bathroom. Pick up a Lake Martin shirt or three, wander around and ogle the concrete statuary and wonder who would install that much gaudy in their yard. Although the life-sized Great Dane figures were cool. If I had a suitably-sized abode, I'd drop one of those things in the foyer or on the porch.
