So did Plaza Mexico, the first Mexican restaurant I've eaten at here in Spring Hill, FL, stand out to be past the average? I can happily say yes, Plaza Mexico has the unique trait of standing out, thus earning a rare four-star review. Plaza Mexico (which I will shorthand simply to PM for the remainder of the review) is located on Forest Oaks Blvd., but not that far east from Commercial Way. The business is not hard to spot out as it utilizes the decor and color scheme often used for Mexican restaurants. I might even say such colors and decor may be American characterizations of Mexican culture, too. The aforementioned could be said about the interior, but I must stress, which was presented in a very good way. The lights were these beautifully blown glass orbs of multiple colors. The wall art was these paintings that had reliefs with lighting. Finally, the table furniture wasn't quite grandoise. I will say it: presentation goes a long way. The food was delicious, but just like the decor, it had a bit of flamboyance that made it look more appealing. As a family, we had the Nachos House Special, Three Amigos, Molcajete, and chimichanga. We did share bits and pieces from other's plates, but it was so delicious. The price of food is probably on the higher side of the norm, meaning high 20s to low 40s depending on what you get. However, as mentioned earlier, the food was very delicious, and it looked flamboyant, too. On a sidenote, the restrooms were clean and stocked, and my family and I showed up a little before lunhime, so maybe that is why there was a very short wait until we were seated and recieved service. They have a good promotion right now on certain days buy one entrée and get the second entrée free. You have to spend a specific amount of money and it has to be after 4 PM and they don't do it every day you have to watch for it. The food is still good here I have never had bad food here, my shrimp and scallops and the salad bar were all delicious. That's all I gotta say about that.
