I bought a bag of Ethiopia Medium roast which is natural not washed and the smell and taste are wonderful. Sometimes the naturals go over the top but this one hits the spot - its got the fruit but its also mellow. Perfect for sitting down and just enjoying a cup in peace. Food also excellent. My go tos were the oatmeal (no cream) and the croissant sandwich which was recommended to me by a very nice lady who works for delta in Tampa and comes to Cedar Key 3 times per year and was excited when she heard this was where I was going.

We were told after waiting almost 30 minutes for them that the reason was that they make everything from scratch-I'm no expert but I know a Sam's croissant when I see one and whoever is so unbelievably out of touch with flavors would put a garlicky chicken salad with sliced strawberries?? Literally wtf. Don't get me started.. and then they mocked us when we asked where our order was and basically threw the Togo box at us. Classy. DONT WASTE YOUR VALUABLE VACATION TIME. Outside remains the same with limited seating but we prefer eating inside. Even though it was busy we found a table right away. Our waitress came over and took our drink orders and left us to look over their menu per our request. The guys were very interested in one of their breakfast specials and ended up ordering it. Called a Tot Bowl the dish had tater tots, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers and onion and American Cheese with Sausage Gravy and two eggs. Two pieces of toast of your choice is included - both chose Rye toast which they loved. Only difference between the two plates were how their eggs were cooked. My Hubby loves over easy eggs while my brother prefers scrambled. They both stated that they loved their breakfast with my brother commenting next time he visits he would love to go to Kim's again. I of course chose something different. I had a bowl of their Stone Ground Grits with two scrambled eggs and ham on rye toast. Both the grits and the breakfast sandwich were delicious and filled me up. The guys are hoping next time we go the Tot Bowl special will be available. A great, friendly, affordable, cozy breakfast diner!

The kind that makes you immediately question every life decision that didn't involve ordering biscuits earlier. You don't eat here... you enter into a long-term relationship with blueberry butter. I'm fairly certain I would now spread it on drywall if given the opportunity. But the real star of the experience was our server, Tracy. Tracy did not "serve" us. Tracy managed us. She roasted us, corrected our menu decisions, judged our drink choices, and somehow kept our coffee cups filled the entire time. At one point I'm pretty sure she made eye contact from across the room and my water refilled out of pure fear and respect. We tried to act like mature adults ordering breakfast -- Tracy immediately saw through it.She kept us laughing the entire meal and somehow ran the table like a combination of a stand-up comedian, a kindergarten teacher, and a cruise director. I'm convinced:Grannie's doesn't run on electricity. It runs on biscuits, blueberry butter, and Tracy's personality. We showed up as customers and left feeling like we just got fed at a relative's house... except the relative is hilarious and will absolutely call you out for not finishing your pancakes. 5 stars for the food. 5 stars for the atmosphere. 10 stars for Tracy. If you go to Grannie's and Tracy is your server -- don't worry... she'll take very good care of you whether you deserve it or not. We will 100% be back. Probably partially because of the food... but mostly because Tracy would be disappointed if we didn't.

Our waitress was very attentive and made sure that we had what we needed; she even made us to-go drinks for the road! I had the taco salad which was Huge in a big taco shell - you could also have it served as a traditional salad if you prefer. I asked what the protein was and I was told ground beef, but she could see if they could make it as a chicken taco salad instead. I asked her to surprise me, and she brought out one made with chunks of seasoned chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, sour cream chopped inions and salsa which was very tasty. My friend had a tuna melt, which is her favorite meal for lunch and a side of onion rings. The sandwich came out nicely toasted with melted cheese and a thick layer of tuna salad. The onion rings were beautifully fried with real onion rings inside a crispy brown coating; she usually shares the onion rings with me but she must have been so hungry and they were so tasty, that she ate them all by herself! We then had to decide from a long list of desserts, including, pies, muffins and cakes. We split a slice of coconut meringue pie, which was quite heavenly! We come through this area quite a bit, so we will definitely return.
