I'm always up to trying a new to me restaurant. We chose Izmir Gyro House because a few friends have been wanting to try it. We each ordered something different. I opted for the chicken kebob platter. It came with a salad, rice, chicken, pita bread and some tzatziki. The first thing I began to eat was the salad. I don't know what kind of dressing it had, but it is similar to a balsamic but not as tangy. It was really good. Then, I tried the chicken by itself first. It was really tasty! Then I tried it dipped in the tzatziki sauce. It was even better! The rice was flavorful as well! Not just a plain white rice! Izmir Gyro house has been at there location for a while and I can't believe I have never tried it before. The service at Izmir is friendly and fast. The lady at the register was very helpful in guiding us to our meal choices. The restaurant itself is super clean and has an open atmosphere. I am probably going to add this to my lunch out options! read more

What a nice cozy place in Bellevue ..friendly and service with a SMILE...Dean and I pooped in for a quick take out a later into the evening..they were very patient with us while we went through the entire menus! We ordered a Gyro with whatever meat they use for it...Dean said it was generous and delicious...but always room for the baklava ..tasty but not over the top sweet..I ordered the Chicken platter..(cause inbred to know it's not lamb) it was a very generous Gyro..lots of chicken, onions, tomatoes, and the yummy white sauce ...very happy with our choices...we will be back to try other menu items for sure! read more

This is my second time eating here, and both times have been delicious!!! Some of the best local Mediterranean food!!! The chicken kebab is seasoned and cooked perfectly with the rice. The salad is always grab along with the yogurt dip. The spicy feta is excellent with the kebabs too. Don't stop there...make sure and order baklava to enjoy later. Stopped in here between games during a soccer tournament for one of my kids because we were avoiding a chain. This was the best decision we could have made. THE FOOD HERE IS UNREAL AMAZING. I had a chicken gyro platter that came with the gyro, rice, and side salad. The gyro omg so good I'm craving it just writing about it, the rice also so yummy, and the side salad dressing was a little different to me so I didn't love that but I think I might have if I added salt. My kids ordered burgers like typical children that won't try food and ended up eating the rest of mine of course. This is definitely a place I will be coming back to. My wife and I both had the Adana kabob dinner. The meat was plentiful, but was absolutely disgusting. Texture is hard to describe, but rubbery is as close as I can explain. Taste was also off. I only ate a couple small bites and tossed the rest. The salad was good, but the dressing was 90% oil. The baklava was not bad. The only thing that was very good was the saffron rice. We were very disappointed. We've eaten the Adana Kabab numerous times over the past several years and most times we loved it. It seems the quality has been going downhill over time. Very friendly staff, nice clean organized restaurant. They weren't too busy during lunch hours so my food was prepared and served very fast. Everything tasted great and definitely in line with traditional Mediterranean food. This place is a hidden gem in Bellvue and i will be returning often to get a great tasting healthy Mediterranean meal. Everything was fresh and gad a nice balance of flavors. Great to have Turkish food available in Bellevue. I worked in Adana, Turkey for over 2 years and love Turkish cuisine. So far I've tried the kebab platter and gyro platter and enjoyed both. Good service and I really appreciate that they take Apple Pay. The ambiance reminded me of some of the neighborhood kebab places I used to frequent in Adana. I need to drop by more often. read more

Got this delivered via DoorDash tonight and I'm really pleased. Got the gyro with fries and even after a delivery (plus an extra stop for the driver) the fries were still decently crispy. They've got those extra battered type fries that I love. The gyro was great. Meat was flavorful and tender and got plenty of sauce on the side. I'll definitely stop in in person soon. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place out, and ... it was really good. It's situated close to Offutt AFB in Bellevue and they have a decent dining space inside. I'll have to try some of their other dishes, but their Adana kebab was certainly a tasty choice. read more

The food was pretty good, but the price was steep for the portions of the meal we shared. We paid about $32 for the three plates below. Thankfully the pita was very filling, because the $7 we paid for the single kebab on our salad was not really worth it. The salad was very whatever. I wish it had a bit more to it. The staff was trying, but they weren't very flexible with customizing orders because the point of sale system didn't have a button for what we wanted. read more

Small place located off Galvin Road in Bellevue. Decided to give it a try for the first time for lunch. Order at the counter. Food is brought out to you. Went with the Gyro Plate. Comes with a mixed salad and rice as well as pita and the Gyro meat. A little surprised it did not come with fries instead of rice. Portion was good sized and the meal was good. Price was average. Small staff, so there may be slight delays in getting the food out, but nothing crazy. Also due to the small staff, there was not a lot of cleaning of tables going on. Not all staff are wearing masks. Gentleman taking orders has a mask on, but one of the staff delivered an order with her mask around her neck. Overall a good experience. read more

The gyros are delicious and we go monthly to get our gyro fix. The pita bread and hummus are good too. I could be wrong but I thought the gyros include lettuce and tomatoes, but you have to remember to ask if you want it. The staff appear friendly. They do have a kids menu and other Greek food besides gyros but I can't remember the other items. read more

Their rice is wonderful! I had never tried Greek rice before and it was pleasantly tasty and different! He thoroughly enjoyed his meal. I chose the Gyro supreme which was delicious. It was too salty and their tzatziki sauce is on point! We loved our meals so much that just about a week and a half ago after attending a wedding and dinner was going to be another hour and half, we headed here again since it was about 5 minutes away and almost got the same thing. My boyfriend got the same platter and I thought I got the meal last time but was surprised again! The Gyro supreme meal comes with fries, which I hadn't eaten in months, and a drink! Though I haven't had fries in awhile I was glad to have them again on this evening. They were close to Burger King fries but better! The were crunchy and big and tasty! I'm not sure I'd order this particular dish again anytime soon but I know that I would highly recommend it! The first time we came it was very good this was our second time here and not as good. We ordered 2 gyro Supreme meals and 1 just the gyro. The meat was very very very dry and cold. The sauce was flavorless and not how I liked it (I'm not a huge cucumber fan but I love this sauce, usually). Very disappointed and will not be return customers again. read more

My new favorite! Wow! I'm very happy with Izmir! I've been here twice in the last week because their Chicken Kabob is fantastic! Their rice is very unique because it's mixed with Orzo, which gives it a nutty type taste. It's excellent! Their dishes always come with some type of fresh cut up vegetables. Their Falafel is very crispy and good. Also I tried the Baba Ganoush and I recommend it highly. They have online ordering due to Covid, so it was very easy to order online and go inside to pick it up. I had to alter one order, but it was very easy to call and fix it over the phone. Totally my fault but when the order came and I questioned my order the lady went back and brought me some rice and a salad. even though I told her it was my fault. Super super friendly. This is a very good Mediterranean/Turkish eatery located in Bellevue. Service was swift & friendly. Food tasted excellent. The Kebabs here are served with pita along with onions & peppers. The Adana Kebab I had was definitely fresh and tasted great; it leaves a nice aftertaste in your mouth for a while. The Kebabs come with Turkish pilaf rice mixed with orzo which had both unique & very tasty flavors. Also had the Baba Ganoush appetizer which was very good in it's own right. I also tried some falafels here & they taste very good; crispy & delicious. I returned recently & tried out the Beef Kebab which was juicy & packed with flavor, as well as the Hummus which also tasted great. The lady who is usually there is very friendly. Had no idea this was here, but happened to see it while in the area, so gave it a try when my teen wanted Greek for dinner. He had the mixed grill, I had the Chicken Gyro. The veggies with the mixed grill were very good, and I thought the chicken kabob meat was excellent. I liked the chicken gyro, but the meat was a shredded and seasoned chicken, not the same as the kabob, which is more my style. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and plan to return. read more

One was sitting on the side steps on her cell phone, while the other was at the back door on his. Izmir Gyro House just recently opened and is located behind the Valentino's to go in Bellevue off of Galvan Road. Used to be Big Mike's BBQ. My wife and I went there for lunch today and ordered their gyro meal. Which included a gyro, fries and a drink. You order at the counter. They have a total of 9ish tables and booths. So not vIt was clean inside and the lady (I assume the co-owner) at the register was very friendly who took our order. I assume she is Mediterranean decent which is great, gives it a more authentic feel. The gyro meat was moist and the fried were nice and crispy on the outside. So, all in all not bad. Everything that was supposed to be warm was warm and the veggies (tomatoes and onions) were cold. Overall everything we had was good. Since they just opened they have some kinks to work through. Some of he customers behind us had longer waits and could see some slight frustration. I would just note this is not fast food and they are new so give them some time and they will have all the logistics worked out. Overall good. I would come back. Please support the local home grown restaurants in Bellevue. It is what makes Bellevue a nice place to visit and live. read more
