Steam table food, cheap paper plates and plastic utensils in a packet. This is sit down dining?! The food isn't kept out of the "danger zone" below 40° or above 140°. Just put a forkful in your mouth or look for steam rising from the take out containers you're eating from. It's not there. There are no Servers, basically food runners. You order at the counter, find a table, get your plastic wrapped tableware from a jar, napkins next to them and wait.... for your food. That comes in take out containers They were doing better during the height of Covid. Go figure?! Maybe it's new people and management. I don't know. I do know I won't recommend them; and G-d forbid take any Boriquas there. Here's your gratuity! You want a tip? Stay out of the Bronx !!! You pseudo-Ricans!

Seems like Izla has been stepping up their game! We were looking for some really good food, close to home. I was opposed to ordering food from here because I wasn't thrilled during my last two visits but eventually gave in. I figured I'd try the pernil and if it disappointed me, that would be the last straw! But WOW, that pernil was soooo delicious. It was so juicy, tender and was exactly what I was looking for. The rice and gandules were just perfect and the portion is huge. The carne frita was so buttery and the portion size is enough for two meals. The yuca fries were the absolute best, I don't know how they make them so golden and cooked to perfection. I was absolutely stuffed afterwards and very pleased! Izla please keep up the good work and please be this good (if not better) during my next visit, I'm counting on you! Safe to say they're redeeming themselves and I'll be back.

Food it's delicious we got the Cuban sandwich, fried plantain and yuca fried and another potato dish like salad with apple.. EVERYTHING was delicious authentic flavors , service it's good very attentive and friendly the place may need a little ceiling fan here and there not super luxury but you forgot about as soon as you got your food at the table... definitely worth it!!!

Our son 21st birthday. The caterer food for our party. Everything was delicious. Customer service is excellent. Prices are reasonable.

The arroz con pollo is good- portion is huge. Very good social distancing and contact free takeout. Will take out from here again.

Our waitress was top notch took care of our coffee and food orders with a smile on a rainy cloudy day. Ordered the Coquito latte, delicious- paired with the sweet and spicy chicken and Coquito batter waffle!! Wow the flavor was great didn't even need syrup. Loved the contrast of sweet and salty. Great portion sizes for the price. My wife got the Coquito French toast with scrambled eggs hash brown potatoes and bacon served on a charcuterie board. Eggs were fluffy and delicious the French toast was soft and buttery.

If you really think about it the Dominican food has taken over the Bx. I searched, and found this place. The moment you step in you are greeted with the warmest blessings. The 2 beautiful people that worked there made our time there so memorable. The food was out of this world let me tell you. Also, I will say it is AFFORDABLE. portion size was huge and the place was so CLEAN. Food: Pernil: 10/10 flavorful and tender Yellow (arroz con gandules) and Black rice with the beans: 10/10 both were good and couldn't even decide which one was better Pulpo 9/10 : fresh and tangy, cut into small pieces so you can top it on your rice Alcapurrias: 8/10 great and made differently then what I'm used to but it was sooo good I'd come again for this alone Juices: Ask them to try the juices and they will let you. We tried it all. Came home with passion fruit (parcha) and guyaba (guanabana) Delicious 10/10 It was so fresh and they don't add too much ice so you get all the juice taste. All in all I'm coming here from now on. A true BX staple for the community and a true essence of the Bori pride resides here. If you miss PR, come here.

Rice was the way I like it - soft, not too oily, flavorful. I will go back with my bf who was born and raised in PR to see what he thinks, but I'm already a fan. They also have a lot of variety so I plan on trying something new next time. The lady working there said that sometimes they make guanimes (some people call them guanimos) which I have never been able to find outside of PR. I hope I get to try them at this place. So glad I found this spot and recommend you all check it out.

There were so many options, including goat, oxtail, pigs feet and more popular proteins like pernil, chicken and beef. We got yellow rice, black beans, stewed chicken, pernil and maduros all piled high on a plate. We also got a bottle of water and a tamarind Jarritos soda. They had a ton of different bottled beverages and a few desserts options too. They also have many made to order menu items, including Mofongo. The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. Everything was cooked to perfection. We also loved their housemade jalapeno hot sauce.
