I've been there twice and I'm definitely coming back. I found this place about 4 months ago. It was super late and my usual place was closed, so I decided to give it a chance. I was welcomed by the owner Ize and he did my eyebrows as well. I loved the shape, but since my skin is really sensitive it was swollen for about 2 days plus I had like a scratch on one of them. The 2nd time I went there, I let him know since the beginning about my skin and what happened last time. He applied like a cream before the threading, was really careful while doing it, and applied it again once he was done. No redness, no inflammation and no cutting at all... perfect job!! read more

I used to go to get my brows done at Plaza Bonita. I wouldnt go anywhere else because i am very very picky and strict with my brows. I came past IZ eyebrow threading on my way to food for less and because i was lazy and in desperate need to get my brows done after 2 months, i finally decided to go in. My eyebrows are two different shapes which makes it hard to deal with and make them even. I must say IZ (the owner) did miracles on my brows. I will never go back to plaza ever. IZ is eyebrow GOD!! Was very disappointed by their service. I asked for a basic clean up, to keep the natural shape of the eyebrows and not to make them so thin. They did the exact opposite of what I asked. Now I'm going to have to wait months before my eyebrows grow back thick so I can get them done elsewhere. Please listen to what your customer asks. My eyebrows are so thin, it's upsetting every time I look in the mirror. Never had them look so small. read more

I am so beyond sad. The owner of IZ wasn't there so I let the lady behind the counter do them. It was the worst eyebrow decision I have ever made. She left them thin, and my left eyebrow now has a huge, and I mean HUGE, bald spot. I have never had a bad experience there until today. I had been wanting to try the eyebrow and face threading for some time as "the older you get the more hair on your face you seem to get!" I always try to treat myself before my birthday so at the end of October I decided it was time to try the threading. I did a walk in to this place & there were a number of people waiting so I signed in and took a walk into some neighbor stores. They had already called me before I got back-which surprised me that they finished that many people. IZ did my eyebrows and part of face as he said I would have to come in a bit earlier if I wanted that done. I was amazed at how fast as precise this process was although I had read from some it was more painful than waxing. I did not agree with that as I really didn't feel any type of pain. I'm not sure if it lasts as long as waxing or if it's just my hair growth as I had to tweeze not long after. I was very impressed with this first experience and will return soon. read more

I came to this place on a whim. I walked in bc I saw the good reviews and I was right by Costco and it was close by . Walking I was greeted by a gentleman named Ize . He was with another client he asked me to sign in and I sat down . Being middle eastern I kinda paused for a hot min and was like A MAN DOING THREADING I wanted to shy away . But then I was like in Lebanon and certain other places the guys are known to be the best at cosmetology work. So I'm like what the heck I'll go for it . Well great news he was from the same country my parents are from and I felt at ease . He assured me that he's done this many times and was very successful in The Middle East where he would be a barber and a beautician for the Sheikhs, their daughters and wives . I believed it because he seemed like he knew what he was doing . Threading by the way originated in the Middle East. I used to go to a Indian lady but she just didn't understand the concept because it also involves brow mapping which he even told me about.so I know a good threader when I see one . He didn't want to sacrifice my brow thickness like some other places do . Ize is a sweetheart I wouldn't mind driving down here to visit him he's great . Plus it's refreshing to see a man doing something like this . I personally think guys do it better because girls get emotional :p read more

I'm a little disheartened writing this review. But I'll start. I had been growing my eyebrows for about 7 months with only plucking the occasional supper annoying little hairs. I had the most hair I've had since my teen years. Yesterday I woke up and told my self, "today is the day I'm gonna either wax or try threading for the first time". I saw this spot on Yelp and all the amazing reviews so I decided to try it. Location is pretty easy to spot. It's by the smart and final on Palomar. I walked in and was not greeted. Some places greet you either with a hello or a warm smile- here, nothing. I did get a "sign in" so I signed in. The lady that helped me, whose name I did not get, seemed nice but serious- she had blonde hair. I immediately expressed that I had been growing out my brows and I had little hairs still growing on the inside corners of my brows that I DID NOT want to remove. I also expressed I was going for a THICK look. This was my first time threading and I was immediately concerned by how quickly she was getting rid of the hair without much examination or even stopping to look at both brows at the same time. Anyway, so she finished. I looked at my brows and immediately noticed they were too thin, particularly the arch of my left one. She had removed the little hairs I had on my left brow, cutting the length significantly (to my eye, at least). I expressed my concern and she said something along be lines of "no, the other one is actually thinner". She went ahead and filled them in right away, which I thought was a nice gesture but did in fact made me realize the horrible mistake I had made my threading my brows that day. I know I have difficult eyebrows, but still feel a better outcome could have been attained. Perhaps threading or this location is best for people that have thick and full eyebrows and not so much for people like me. It has nice decor and amazing prices, but I don't think I would go back. She did sell me an oil that's supposed to help my brows and eyelashes grow. I hope it works and I don't have no wait another 7 months for my brows to grow thick again. read more

Ok first and foremost Its obvious that I don't yelp! But when my niece called me to say that she found something that would make me happy, I was curious as to what it was. Then when I called her back she surprised me when she told me it was IZ my long lost professional Eyebrow Threader. I found this salon that my niece turned me on to trying eye threading in Hillcrest salon called Dolly's. When I first met IZ he was a total professional while fixing my brows from so much abuse with waxing, which I no longer do. As I was getting used to having such beautiful brows and low and be hold I go back for another appointment he's gone with the wind. I was disappointed which Dolly herself wouldn't even give out any info about her number one threader as for his where about. I even went far as to asking everyone who worked there. No one would give the dish on IZ. I am only writing this review because I am so grateful for my lovely niece to have called me back to letting me know where I can go now to getting my brows back to looking amazing, because honestly when us ladies find someone whom we trust in doing anything facial especially our brows we will drive far as we can. I love this place but they need to have someone who speaks English at all times. Usually there is more then one person but when I went in today there was only a nice lady who spoke very little English and was not able to communicate with her about my eyebrows. I ended up basically with the same eyebrows I started with. Super disappointed because I drove an 1 1/2 in traffic to come specifically here. Other than that I would recommend this place. read more

Let me say that the owner, IZ and his wife are excellent workers. They will take care of you. However they have a lady working who NEEDS TO GET FIRED. I had to get tended by her twice (both being horrible experiences) only because the owner's wife was not there. First of all, everything about her is unprofessional, starting with her appearance. Please fix your lip fillers you look ridiculous with those lips, being over 40 years old. Second of all, focusing more on the actual threading, I had to come back twice because she basically didn't EVEN TOUCH my lip when I did a FULL face thread. Apart from ALL the hair on my lip, she also left hair ALL over my cheeks. When I came back she laughed and said why didn't I check the mirror? Why didn't you use your eyes you old lady?? Third of all, I called the shop to get her name and she refused to give me her name. She is the lady who also cuts hair. She isn't hard to point out, she looks the everybody's aunt that is going through a mid life crisis trying to be young again. SHE ALSO LEFT CUTS ON MY EYEBROWS AND MY LIP. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.
